Ok I will check that later :D

lol its doin my head iiiin lol. Right... think Im going to find an auto electrician, basing it on the fact that the two faults that have come up (one on computer and one on little code reader) have been throttle body wiring, and TPS. When I had my head gasket done the other week and mentioned it to the bloke, he said he plugged somet in on the throttle body that was unplugged and he thought that would solve it, so Im guessin he meant the throttle position sensor.... clearly didnt solve it so must be fooked lol. *sigh* I hate spending money I don thave when it might not fix the problem grrr lol x

I have searched but I kinda get lost in it all and dont know which way to turn with it lol. Im not sure now whether to get a metering head, and a throttle body, see if that sorts it, or get someone to check the wiring....
-
Anyone have a metering head for a 2ltr 16v pleeeeeease :)
-
Oo ok, erm wats a metering head? Lol I hope it's not a wiring problem :(

Ok What to do? Ive had this nightmare high idle problem for several months now, a couple of mechanics have looked at it but not really helped. One plugged it into a computer and it read something about throttle body wiring, but he couldnt sort it. Anyway I got a code reader, plugged it in and it read 00516 Closed throttle body position sensor, so I thought yay simple change that. Mechanic picked the car up this morning, just phoned and said the code reader I had was a bit vague, and he thinks changing the throttle body and injection unit (whatever that is...) should sort the problem out... but this is already the 2nd throttle body on the car, my previous mechanic put a 1.8 one put on as you can adjust the idle on those, didnt really help..... So... do I stick with what the fault code reader said and just try changing the switch.... Im totally lost on what to do next :(

Turned out to be the head gasket, also needed a cam pulley replacing. I asked the bloke to take a look at why it might be idling high (can be as hish as 2500) as its been doing this for about 3 months now. He said there was something unclipped under the throttle body, so thats been clipped back in..... driving it today and its still made no difference, idling around 2k. Two garage have not been able to sort this out, I have no idea what to do now. Any1 recommend any dub specialists? (apart from stealth, mindland VW and DubUnit) Thanks x

Timing out would make more sense than bending two valves at the same time i guess... I will mention it to the garage :D x
-
Wouldnt touch Stealth again, spent £400 with them and 3 weeks later my car went back to runnin how it did before I took it to them, they didnt fix a thing I'll take it down to a local garage and get them to do a compression test :D

I have a 93 2ltr 16v. The other day I floored it (although didnt redline) and all of a sudden the revs dropped and there was a loud ish knocking from the engine and it kept cutting out when I slowed down. I assumed big end bearings, until I started it the next day, the knocking had stopped and it wasnt cutting out. However it was 'chugging' like it wasnt running on all 4 cylinders, and stank of petrol. I pulled the ht leads out one by one and 3 and 4 werent making a difference when pulled off. I earthed them to see if they were sparking, which they were, so obviously not a faulty lead/plug or dizzy cap etc (I have bought new leads and plugs now though as it needed it!). I've had a few people suggest a bent valve... but thinking about it, I'd have had to have bent 2 as 2 cylinders are out... whats the chances of bending 2 valves at the same time really?? I will be taking her to a garage the weekend but I would rather try see if it might be somet simple, or see if there is anything I can test first.... Any ideas? Ta :D

we'll have to pull over next time :D

one behind was me, Bordeaux pearl (burgundy) :D x

2ltr 16v. Standard, and no wires seem to be cut, wires etc seem to be fine

Been having running problems with my 2ltr 16v for a few weeks. It started off the car was running lumpy and at junctions almost cutting out. I changed the ISV, ran ok for a few days but started playing up again. Now though, the car starts to over rev while Im driving, and can idle at around 1500-2k. So sometimes it runs fine, sometimes its spluttery and goes to cut out, and sometimes it over revs. Tried another throttle body on it, didnt help at all. Im baffled... any ideas? :(

found out that lead is an impulse sender (no. 22) http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x18/ ... led1-1.png the mechanic confused me so i took the bloody tdc sensor back :( grrr will just get another garage to sort it out. Thanks for your help :)
-
ok little lost, just been to GSF and this is wat they gave me when i asked for a TDC sensor, so, it this what that lead in my other pic, connects to then??
-
Would this be it? coming off my ht lead?
-
Can someone show me a pic of what/where this is please (2ltr 16v). I have been told mine is faulty, I have an idea of what it is but need confirming please :)
-
erm, if i was just to reset the ecu to see if that helped, how long to i disconnect the battery for?? i thought half an hour, then someone told me 24 hours......
-
I have no idea tbh :( Stand still it sounds like a bloody subaru with anti lag, when I slow down for junctions it almost cuts out. Put fuel and injcetor cleaner in it yesterday, redlined it and a load of black smoke came out. And its runnin no better. Ive been told I should get my mixtures adjusted....
-
Oh mines 2ltr 16v Ugh so they didnt replace the lambda sensor when fitting my de-cat I bet! Its just odd that it ran fine straight after the exhaust was fitted. Will change the fuel filter anyway. Dumped fuel and injector cleaner in it yesterday, redlined it and caused a cloud of black smoke, lovely lol
-
I had powerflow exhaust fitted saturday, de-catted, ran fine after, until i was on my way home from a mates saturday, and i was in the red, but, i knew id got enough to get home...or so i thought, it conked out on me. so had to get my someone to come out with petrol, and since then its been runnin lumpy as hell, runnin STUPIDLY rich, and almost cuts out when i stop at junctions. I've had people say its just because I've probably sucked up a load or crap running it low, some say I need to reset the ECU, and some say resetting the ECU wont make a difference and I'll need a chip.... Anyone here had this problem before and knows what I need to do??? :(

Im not quite sure which coilovers to go for, Ive had two recommendations: Hottuning ones: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT And these: http://www.independent-inventory.com/sh ... ts_id=3161 Any1 have any experience with the above?? how do you rate them? I ideally want to drop it 100mm, any1 on here done that and if so how does you rado drive dropped that much? orrr would 85mm be better???
