  1. Hey guys and gals, Got a slight issue on our vr, and thats that some moron (not me) has massively overtightened the oil filter at some point, and the 36mm nut on the bottom has rounded off when trying to undo it. Im certain i CAN get it off, but suspect it wond be in much of a state to go back on when im done, so im after a decent replacement if anyones got one? Theres one off a 2.8 on ebay at the mo (well, actually, theres 2, but one is a propper comedy price) anyone if theyre the same as the 2.9?? Also, after another set of standard speedlines to refurb and have for summer wheels if anyones got a tatty set they want to part with? Frustratingly, missed two sets on ebay last week after forgetting about them!! typical! Dont need tyres with them, and as long as theyre straight, not bothered about the state of them as ill be blasting and powdercoating them anyway...... Cheers, Pete
  2. so long as theyre the right ones (somewhat obviously) then, definitely mate!!
  3. Good point! just the glass would be perfect!
  4. Hey guys and gals, Looking for a drivers side foglight for our 94 vr6 if anyones got anything?? Dark burgandy vr bonnet in good nick, as some nice person sat on ours.... Ive got another one to swap on, but typically its the wrong colour! If no ones got a suitable striaght swap it can bloody well wait till it goes for a respray!! Also in need of another set of standard speedlines if anyones got a tatty set going cheap? Want to refurb a set so i can just swap the tyres over, keeping it rolling.... lastly, mega long shot, but i know theres a few sets of 16" speedlines kicking around, if anyone has a set of those, then please get in touch, we may be interested!! Anyone know if these fit over 312mm's?? Cheers!! Pete
  5. Morning boys and girls, Weve been having a few problems with the new aquisition and its starting habits, with the starter sometimes continuing spinning (although not engaged) whilst the ignition etc is off!! Im thinking of getting a new starter rather than a second hand one, as its a car we're likely to be keeping for a long time. This brings me nicely on to the question, has anyone had any bad experiances with any particular brand of starter motor? (I know we've already had problems from the new rear wheel bearings the previous owner fitted, a look through the history shows gsf bearings fitted about 7,000 miles ago..... something i will be rectifying when i get some time) A quick search online finds me lots and lots of starters listed for the VR6 lump, with massive varying prices, but I really dont want to be buying another one in a few months time!! I was thinking of stumping up for a bosch one, (thats what was on there, perhaps the original??) but dont really want to if the others are all ok!! Cheers Pete
  6. Hiya guys and girls, Im looking to update the speakers in our '94 VR6. At the moment it has a decent head unit, but thats it, the rest is (i believe, although i havent actually checked!!) standard, and only half working. Basically im looking to replace like for like size wise, (really dont want to start messing around with different speaker pods etc) not overly bothered about anything particularly amazing, just want something that sounds good, and wont distort and go all clippy when the volume is turned up a little bit. I already have, Head unit, Cant remeber much about it, pretty sure its 4 x 50w output, decent enough quality (in the car already) Amp, again cant remeber much about it, actually im pretty sure i have two thinking about it (both in the loft) Sub, in its own box, guess what, cant remeber much about that either!! (also in the loft) The plan. To be honest i havent entirely figured out what speakers the 'rado currently has, front doors, dash and rear parcel shelf supports?? What sizes etc?? Logically i would have thought replacing the front speakers (doors? do they have tweeters as standard?) with some good quality mids and tweeters (or just two ways if no tweeter mounting points), running off the amp, some parcel shelf support speakers running off the head unit (a bit of rear fill) and the sub and amp in the boot. Does all of this sound about right? anybody got any suggestions on what speakers are a straight swap (size wise) and of reasonable quality? I would like to get the bits ordered this side of xmas if possible (not least so i can let my better half unwrap them on xmas day - it is supposedly her car after all!!) so i can fit it all up over chrimbo holidays!! Any advice very much apreciated!!
