Hi Guys all help appreciated. I have a fuel leak on my corrado vr6. Its a strange one its leaks intermittently, ive followed the fuel lines as far back as i can and where its leaks from its disappears into the body of the car. When it leaks, i turn the car of and then start it again and it stops, so thinking it is pressure related and maybe a line going back to the tank? Here is a picture of the area. Its drivers side. Many thanks

Hi Guys, Hope you can help with this really frustrating issue i am having and i am 100% sure now after my previous thread its now electrical immobilizer based. - Car was doing this before i had a new alarm fitted. - Fitted a new one hoping it was at fault and the car is still doing it. The issue is i got to start my car and its cuts out. The engine goes to crank and then nothing. I will try after a few attempts and then it will fire up like nothings happened Its 50/50 i could get into my car one morning and start it up and it starts fine first turn of the key and others it takes around 4-5 attempts. I have put the car on VAGcom and get the following code. Controller 021 906 258 co Coding: PMC 1HS 17978- Engine start blocked by immobiliser P1570-35-10 Intermittent When it cuts out i put the key into position one and it chirps so this leads me to believe its immobilisers related. When it starts it starts fine put key into position 1 and no chirps. Any ideas guys, or anyone i could take it to I am located in Milton Keynes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkrU0tKz_xI Also found this Wire for the factory immobilizer not looking to good. Many thanks

I am writing this to hopefully save many other Corrado owners the frustrations i have had over the past 2 weeks, driving the car with no central locking and electric windows, in this lovely weather we have been having. My cars a 1995 VR6 on a M plate. Been having issues for a while where the fuse for the electric windows and central locking keeps blowing. Picture of said fuse is attached, I thought the issue was linked to my alarm which seems be be going wrong for a long time, so arranged to have a new one fitted. Again this did not resolve the issue and the auto technician was out around 2 hours trying to find the fault and was unable to. Electrician left and when he came to do the alarm the windows were up now one of them was down. So now was in a bit of a dilemma. Started looking at all components on that, circuit so followed the wire down from the fuse board which then is spliced into 3 separate looms. Spliced this to isolate which loom was shorting out. So after hours of searching, traced it to the drivers door, where the loom meets the door the plastic gromet had dropped and cut through all the wires, all soldered. Fuse was still blowing. Then traced the issue back to the door actuator basically soon as i connected this it was shorting. The central locking worked, but soon as i plugged the loom in for the electric windows it blows. Not much of a guide but thought id share with people on here as its bound to happen to someone with a corrado sometime or another and i couldn't find any info on this particular fault Dean

Nope cant see nothing everything on that circuit works to apart from the locking and windows and each time blows, booked into get a new alarm fitted as think this is the issue. baahhhhhhhhh, since this is happening its been starting a lot better

Right changed everything fuel wise all been pressure tested, plugs are new replaced all parts suggested Have seemed to get this down to the immobilizer, its now blowing fuse 21 electric windows and central locking. So my theory is that the immobilizer is cutting in causing it not to start, the issue startings slowly got worse now this happens, may be coincidence. Everytime i put a fuse it in blows so i constanctly live. Looking at the wiring loom its looks pretty messy i have a laser line Laserline 996V3 factory fitted. So booked into have a new alarm fitted

Il give it a go, i spent so much time now replacing parts, think im just going to give it to my local VAG guy and get him to sort it
-
Thanks for the reply, I will defiantly give it a go, Noticed i got bit of a small fuel leak when i first start the car coming from the right underside near the manifold looks like. The car will start if i put it into the 2nd postion on the key around ten times, each time the fuel pump primes, then bang fires first time. Really frustrating now Thanks for the replies.

Tested the fuel pump and it giving about 3.5 bar of pressure and does not drop at all so not the pump. VAG COM threw up the code 17978 Engine start blocked by immobilizer. Have checked my spare key still the same. I think the issue is different to the starting immobilizer issue. As i removed the immobilizer plug it would start then after 1 sec cut out - Obviously because the immobilizer is kicking in. Plugged it back in and same again the car wont even start, put my foot on the GAS and it starts, its like it needs that extra lil push. It seems to me that the car seems like it is not getting enough fuel to start, because sometimes on the key and the starter is clicking away for it to start and nothings there. Would a faulty set of spark plugs cause this - Were replaced with genuine items about a year ago. Would a faulty set of HT leads cause this as not sure when they were replaced. The issue seems intermittent once its started and up-to temp its fine, sometimes it will start and then other cut out.

So checked the ignition lead, wd40ed it still made no difference looked worn though so will get a replacement tommorow. What would happen if this was not attached and not working? Also check the fuel pump making a really high pitched noise.

Yep fuel filter 100% on correct stueybs bro fit it

Cars smells very Fuely imo, leave it for a week or so and it takes a few turns to start will cut out il try 4-5 times it will backfire then il try again with my Foot down and will start. When it's run for a bit , il switch it off keep the key in position 2 for a few seconds and Itl fire up turning on from position one it stalls, fuel pump is making a high pitched sound, with the smell of fuel won't it smell very Fuely of it don't start first time. Next I'm going to check the fuel pressure / immob
