Anyone know how to change a cam sensor on a vr, i have an intermittent problem of the car holding back over 3500rpm, typically enough i took it to vw for diagnostics where it had nothin show up and then it decided to run fine for the mechanic, which it will occasionally do for me, just sometimes it wants to hold back, after reading a few threads on here i intend to change the coil pack as well but i am deeply suspecting the cam sensor is the issue, would anybody have an idea of how harder job this would be?

Im no mechanic but.......would the coil pack from a golf vr6 go onto my 1993 vr6 corrado?

thanks for your thoughts, yeh i reckon the chains would be a good idea, not something i plan to break! Reckon its in the pipeline, yeh these cars are too special to just kill off,seems people would rather leave them at the side of their house forgotten bout tho!!

Hi all, as you know,or may not. I recently bought a vr that had been stood up for some time and ive not got it back on the road( have a look at the thread if you want), however as it has been stood up im really concerned that something will go wrong, as things ineveitably do. as a new vr owner what should be the vital things that i should just change or clean replace bla bla bla just so its running sweet. Anything I should know or if you have any great ideas for the engine that would be appreciated. I just want to get it as mint as.not that many around this area and i want to keep it running for as long as. the car has done 140k -scary bit is i have no service history for the last 9 years. everything was vw til 2000 then car went sorn in 05. Suggestions please.... :norty:

Got spoiler issues, bought the car and the spoiler was stuck up, as car has sat since 05 thought i'd give it a chance so took the spiler to bits and lubed it all up :D .however it wont work on the button and the spoiler will now sit down and go up when drivien but once up it stays up.So is now stuck up again. Anyone had same problem or got an idea for it?

other than the vr6 project I have a daily run around of a mk3 golf, its on Borbet a's and I lowered it previous to putting these on. Problem is now the ET is different the back wheels rub in the arches when going over a bump or a bit of weight in the car. Im being told by one set of mates to roll the rear arches, this will have its own set of problems, such as paint cracking and im being told by another set to get coil overs. So really, opinions please, coilovers possibly cos they will harden the ride meaning the tyres shouldnt get hit by the arches........help

hmm i urgently need to get a set of rear brake calipers for my VR6, vw still have the original Lucas calipers for sale, however theyre a lot, is it worth me getting a set from Euro car parts at half the price, althou im not sure on them ake, or is it something that i should defiantely get from VW,please help!!

just bought an L reg VR6, as i explained in other posts its been stood up since 2005, Ive seen Chrome badges and black badges but I havent seen a white badge, is it that I need to get out more, although coming from the crap hole place I do, if i start lookin at people cars too closely I may be arrested! or is that I had chrome and they have gone bad,no trace of chrome anywhere, the car is green pearl,if anything I would have thought the badges would have been black.suggestions??
