  2. No it works like this the lower the first number the thinner the oil is at cold, the higher the second number the thicker it is at 100 degrees so a 0w-60 is thinner and thicker than a 10w-40 at cold/hot, i use mobil 1 extended life 10w 60 fully syn and just got some off the bay for £66 delivered 10 litres

  3. Car has done 106,000 and i am replacing leaking sump gasket , Thought it would be a good idea to change oil pump at this point? JUST BEEN LOOKING AT MEYLE website and they have two different pumps for the corrado 53I they quote oem p.no's as VW 037 115 105 AND VW 037 115 105A does anyone know the correct part no for my 1995 vr6 ?

  4. Anyone know where i can get a new oil pump from ? Gsf are out- non for few weeks cant seem to find any on the net sorry for my vr6

  5. Please help i am having some trouble still - there is a bobbling? / knocking noise coming from the front !!!

    work done -

i have replaced anti roll bar bushes, drop links, topmounts and bearings, the gearbox has just been changed for reconditioned one, i have replaced all cv joints and the ball joints were done about 3-4 months ago for gsf lemforder ones.

the noise comes when going over very slight bumps, and i sounds strange but seems to get worse when warmed up, it also appears to get worse when half mounting kerbs for parking (loading?)

it also seems to sound like defective cv joint?

The car drives really well the recon box is really tight and smooth

I am debating replacing the ball joints again as a cheap possible fix ?

PLEASE can anyone suggest a cause of this or had any similar problems with any of the components replaced ?

  6. thanks for the advice bit worried about oil seals, i am fitting a reconditioned box should i fill it with the 2 litres before fitting it, should be easier and i will then know for definate the right amount is in ???????
