  1. Hi all, It is now on Piston Heads where it appears to be gaining more response. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2808928.htm Cheers.
  2. Well, with such a confident unity of advice, the price has been dropped. Will give it a week or so now to see. Cheers.
  3. Hmm - I must admit to be wondering this too, looking at the competition. Offers are accepted as the car, unfortunately, has to go. But thanks for the advice sir.

  5. Nice M-reg Rado heading southbound on the A404M and then East on the M4 on Saturday. All in lovely condition, got a wave. Looked as though it might have been a Storm version if not for the M-reg, as it had a trim (whatever it is called) above the headlights.
  6. We need another maidenhead/slough/ascot/bracknell type meet sometime, last one in taplow had a really good turn out for a little get together (about 10-15 cars I think). Whos in ? nice idea - that last meet was good. Do you want to start a thread to see how many are interested - I don't mind doing so if you don't want to :) sorry everyone for :offtopic: As would I be interested. I am in the Windsor area and hopelessly not spotted. Not sure there are any C's in the Windsor area... have to say I don't see many that can be stuck up on these here boards.
  7. Saw a silver Corrado going north on the A43 on Sunday. I was heading south in my Blue C. Think we were both treating the road too much as a personal racetrack to have time for waves.
  8. Ooh, the people I used to bore with this sort of conversation, "the C is just so damned good but I will probably have to replace it. But with what?" Two cars, as a solution, just sort of fell on me. And to ensure there were different experiences involved, I went soft top with a Honda S2000. Only really works with the hood down and the C is the wet weather car. So for the C, I bought some rear speakers to replace those that had perished and it all sort of 'reintroduced' me to the car. Since then, I have spent a silly fortune on sorting it out with paint jobs, wheel refurbs, ABS, windscreen, steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake, loads of deep cleaning and once again, I Really love it. Two cars is definitely the way to go. btw, I also considered the TT, but this would probably have been as a replacement...
  9. Hmm. As you say. Probably best not accept your report as the technical standard against which all Corrados must be measured. But erm, thanks anyway.
  10. Hi, Interesting thread. Is it easy to remove the front grille VW badge without removing the whole front and radiator? Thinking of sorting this out as the badge has faded horribly. Cheers.
  11. Can recommend Autowerks in Slough. Did a complete back to metal, repowder and paint job for £80/wheel. Worth it though as the refurb I had before just sprayed on top and all the wheel specs and lettering disappeared under thick paint. Now all is crisp and new again.
  12. Not sure if this is still an issue. I recently bought a new handle, put it on without the plastic shoulder, just to see, and also couldn't get the bloody thing off. The lug is under the handle towards the base and, in effect, has to be pulled up, towards you. So, in towards the body of the handle, but up towards you. I have found if you get a screwdriver shaft and place it perpendicular to and under the lug, you can then pull on the screwdriver shaft and it gives a stronger pull, whereas fingers get depressed. Once the see saw lug moves and unclips, it all comes off very easily and smoothly.
  13. Must admit I have splashed on the new steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake handle. The car is having work done to it (paint, wheels, windscreen) and I recognised the tactile experience was left wanting. There is really nothing like new stuff to touch. Changes your whole outlook.
  14. Grief fellas, speedy responses there. Appreciated. Didn't know there would still be things to learn. Great forum btw. Have had the VR for some time now and have been toying with the idea of getting a new car but every time I came close, I couldn't actually bare to get rid of the VR. So I now have an S2000 and have decided to keep both on the road. Best of both worlds but I am now spending like never before to bring the VR up to similar scratch as the Honda. Cheers.
  15. Hi, I have a 92 VR, curently spending some money sorting it out to original spec. All coming along nicely until it went to a spray place that was less than careful about everything other than its own paint area. That said, I have noticed something with the ignition that I was not aware of before and the garage I sent it to for a look around seem to think it is expected. So, when I switch off the ignition and remove the key, the lights to the radio remain on, but no sound. The windows still work and I don't know what else may still be active. At the point of switching off, there is also a little bleep from the stereo speakers. However, when I open and close the door, all seems to cancel out. Radio lights off, the windows do not work. Is this a security / comfort feature? Is it correct? Have I gone through 11 years of VR ownership without ever realising this was the case. Or, as I suspect, there is an ignition failure that needs to be sorted out. Cheers all.
