My old 'Rado is a 1.8 16v KR with 183,000 on the clock. It's had paint, and has a thick old folder stuffed full of bills from the previous owner, it uses a little bit of oil, but has had new suspension etc etc. I think decent servicing counts for far more than low mileage, I had a 30,000 mile SLK that every little thing cost a fortune, and there was a never ending succesion of little things !!! I'd love a VR6, but until Carol Corrado does something that REALLY :censored: me off, I'm keeping it.

I had exactly the same thing at South Mimms, although I was a passenger. Lights went green, we moved off, then bang, scrunch, shriek, mangle, mangle ..... My friend Emm'as mint Carlton GSI 3000 24v, I have never heard a young woman swear so much, so consistantly and with such volume. Fortunately for us, there was a Policecar two cars back, and he followed us all to the Lorry Services, and was prepared to be a witness. Her's was written off, and she was offered £ 800 for it, after a lot of wrangling, she got £ 1600 ... It scres the :censored: out of you, and it was me that wanted the toilet .... so every time we go out "Now, do you need to go ?"
-
All done ... it was the spotty little 'tard not disarming the alarm .... So back in her today, still loving it, depsite the £ 80.00 bill and i supplied the pump and casing .... LA LA LA. And the Merc can wait ... till I am at least 40 .... which is soon .... & I'll get a pipe and some slippers,a thermos and an emergency knee blanket for the boot ! ( I want a 430 CLK ... as rare as a pearl grey G60 with heated leather ..... )
-
Carol will soon reek of petrol ..... Garage just rang to say they have changed the external fuel pump, but have had to do a lot of uel line as well as there appeared to be nylon string running all the way along the pipe ( inside ?? ) and also the ignition switch has just died. Which actually means the ham-fisted little zitt factory has just kept twisting the key backwards and forwards without turning off the alarm .... Of course dropping it off at the requested 8am time didn't mean they started on it then, oh no, that start was actually 4pm .... GRRRR ..... So I am getting the bus home ...... :censored: :censored: :censored: That low mileage CLK Merc is starting to look incredibly tempting .....
-
Just been out in a Girl from works' R32 ... it's a gr8 car .... dull as :censored: to look at though. Carol ( my pet name when I like it ) has been behaving, and i may treat the money guzzling hoe to an oil cooler ..... Might sort out the spoiler first !!

It's all worth it when one of the 18yr old "Tracies" downstairs says ' you're cars dead cool innit ? '
-
Can i have a 3 relay please ? If you have any left ?
-
LOL ... and there's me thinking about a VR6 or a G60 ...... would they be more / less trouble ??

I know old cars have their "moments " ...... last night my Corrado was pushing it's luck .... Starts to rain on the way home, on with the wipers, always been a little juddery occasionally, but this time they are breakdancing across the screen ' better have a look at that ' I think. Then they stop, and will only "work" on intermittent, in a downpour ... Then the stereo blinks off along with the clock etc 'fuse!' I think. Next I start getting a bit of splash down from the sunroof 'another thing to fix' pops into my head. Temper is ignited a little, but you know, it is an old car. Parked up and got out, forgetting that the passenger door has failed, I manage to yank the entire handle off ( I do have the repair kit x 2 !! ) at which point Claydon is regaled with my bellowing at "German piece of f :censored: sh :censored: " and I march inside, cursing and muttering. Almost got to the point of buying a Mercedes CLK, and then just thought "Calm down Dear". Looked at the wiper mech this morning and it's a little loose, so tightened bits up. replaced the stereo fuse, and on looking at the drain holes for the 'roof, they are a little blocked, so blew some air through ( low pressure ) and now all drains well. I might even fit the headlamp loom and the new bulbs I've got sat at home. That then just leaves the speed spoiler. I love the car again.

Buy a TT .... or not ! I had one that replaced my GTI 16v, and although it was a good / great car, ot was so SOUL-LESS, so I only kept it for a few months, sold it, and my Golf Convertible, and brought an old 1.8i 16v Corrado. I love it !! Although I am really tempted to have a G60 as a toy, and the 16V as the daily hack .... I did toy with the idea of a VR6, but the engine sounded somewhat expensive to maintain ( chains etc ) so stuck with the "basic" lump.

Spotted a red standard 16v this morning, again on the Orwell Bridge on A14, couple of headlamp flashes .... oh and got a thumbs up from a slammed Polo !
-
Blue VR6, coming from Felixstowe to Ipswich, on A14, Orwell Bridge, had a mutual flash at each other - oooer !

Hello Stu I'm actually in Claydon, just outside Ipswich, but I believe I have seen your car about  I've got some door cards off another member, and they'll be here soon, and they are for my year car, so no conversion worries ! My next joy is stripping out all the carbon fibre nonsense and reinstalling standard black plastic in, so I'll be trawling E-bay !! Any other Corrado nuts in the area ?

Thanks Mr, but I have decent seats retrimmed in black leather and red alacantra, so looking for black interior door cards !! I'm going to get bidding on these bits, seems a decent interior is hard to come by, or perhaps I am just too slow !!
