1.8 16v idles at 500 rpm sometimes less. some days it works fine any ideas

got a set of 9x16 borbet a's in need of a refurb. quite fancy doin something different bt not sure what to do. any sujestions?

i'm not worried about the oncomming traffic as long as i can see. jokes. did u say that the uprated loom makes the standard lights brighter. still need to get a loom as mines been butchered. where would i get 1?

wheres the best place to get this uprated loom from? got inpros at the moment but i'm not really a fan. and the guy who had the car before me made a rotten job of the wiring and the full beam doesnt work. so im givin up on them and goin for hids in standard lights.

go for the split tubing i would say. but tape the wires up every 6" before you put it on cause u always end up with stray wires poking out

you wont get a puddle when it sittin as theres no pressure in the system. unless its really big hole. if u cant get a pressure tester have a look when the engine is running hot and look then should be able to source it that way.

what about a 2litre 16v out a mk3 one of my mates has a few of them pipins not a massive problem aslong as it can mount.

i also wondered about puttin a vr rad. dunno if it fits the crossmember. suppose an engine flush wouldnt hurt either.

as long as ive had it. about 4 months. there was a water pipe leakin when i bought it so ur rad weld theory could be right. think the guy i bought it from was a bit of a dodger it had just gotn an mot bt ive ound at least 6 mot failures without even lookin

coolant temp is around 90 bt as i say am scared to let it idle for too long to see how hot it gets. i wondered if the filter head could be clogged thought about tryin some engine flush through it to see if it could clear it out

sorry think i put this in the wrong place still tryin to get to grips with this forum thing. it has been at 120 when im idlin but it at 100 with the heating flat out when im driving at 60

my 1.8 16v is runnin around 100 degrees of oil temp is this normal?
