Yeh, i'm pretty MK2 golf GTI fan is the same as in my G60 and there the same as the MK2 off all engine flavors. Although for the price, i'd buy new from GSF.. around £30 if i recall and its not going to break again in a hurry.

1/4" vacuum hose is what you need. 3.2mm You can buy it from VAG Stealers, i've heard its black with yellow braided in.. :norty: Still whatever colour it is now they should have it on tap for afew £ a meter. My question... My ECU pipe has the Boost gauge plumbed into it, why has the previous owner done this as i know where it should go on the G60... will it give the wrong boost reading?

Hey guys, Well, i'm going to have a go at doing the cambelt on the G60.. :hitler: I'm pretty handy with tool's but never done a cambelt, never had a need to. I've read the G60 timing thread and have the Bentley Corrado book. Do i need to fiddle with the ignition timing? Also do i need the locking tool? Any tips would be great, cheers.

Is your Corrado the most unreliable car you've ever owned?
demons uk replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
I wouldn't coin it un-reliable but it certainly likes the touch of my hands under the bonnet  Don't get me wrong i love the G60, but sometimes i feel it likes to wind me up, i changed the oil today and whilst unscrewing the filter (pretty sure the worlds strongest man did it up) it decided to unscrew the whole double threaded bolt, so the entire oil to water cooler housing came off to :epicfail: Not a hard job, but when your trying to get it all back together with two hands stuffed through the drivers light gap its a little frustrating :) This did have its advantage though, it defiantly drained ALL of its oil. Touch wood its fine for the moment, driving it after all that hassle makes up for all its done wrong. If i could i'd buy a second in a heartbeat :salute: -
 my first spot, only took took 8 months 8) Ohh I think I saw Demons uk G60 today   Sounded nice as you pulled off and looked good in the review mirror 8) By the way you do know your missing your front number plate dont you? Yeah pretty sure you saw me, Sounds nice for a G60 :salute: Yes mate, took the german front off only to realize that i had lost the sticky pads for the new legal front plate :camp: all sorted now though :salute: Big thanks to you for picking that door up for me, you got my number/Pm me on here if you think i could help you with anything bud.

Spotted swompy's 'rado in sainsbury's car park in Glos, so he can have some fame

Mine popped a core plug, got a hammer and knocked it back in without any adverse effects although i will get back under the car and make sure its fully in. Also mine had a small amount of mayo on oil cap, it has been sat since before christmas and i fixed it all up today in the rain and it drives fine now, water temps nice and low and will give it an oil change tomorrow as there creeping up and mayo on the oil gone.

Where do you pay to keep your C and how much?
demons uk replied to Mcr VR6's topic in General Car Chat
I work for the council and have six garages  all free as there for work related materials..... Two do have work bits in them, the rest have other bits that i use, one has my MK2 GTI in there and the spare is for the 'rado when I'm doing some work on it. I would consider the big yellow storage places or the likes, somewhere that is dry and not damp and moist almost all the time, maybe if i sort out uni/forces this year then i'll get the 'rado in there. -
Saw a 'rado on eastern avenue in Glos, didn't get what it was but i think it was an early 16v, though could have been anything as i was in the van day dreaming :D think it was either grey, or light blue, TBH i can't remember :D wasn't that long ago. Swompy was it you? Also, not seen it lately but sometimes see a black rado on the A38 driving towards combe hill from Glos way? think its a G but might be a 16v? anyone know it?

The girl that i usually sh@g hates the corrado :epicfail: so thats a no. Thats also the reason she is just a sh@g and not a girlfriend  The Mk2 golf was pretty good for it until the headlining decided to fall apart whilst on the job :gag:

Valver for the girlfriend's first car - opinions please...

TBH as much as i hate to say it a pug 306 D-turbo is a cracking first car or a run around. I had one up until today when the engine decided to commit suicide, but i don't care, it cost me £50 and you could just do whatever you wanted to it and it lapped it up, and doing 55mpg no matter what rev your at or what speed you going. Its got enough mod cons so its still new-ish but cheap enough to be an old pug. and all at group 5 insurance. Mined got driven into by a bin truck and i just laughted it off with the driver, if it was the 'rado i'd be writing this from prison. -
I reseated my front spacers, whitch are 8mm on the front and non-hubcentric, before they the wheel would wobble at motor-way speeds but now there fine, usually as you tighten them on there drop down and cause the balance to be un-even, even a mil out when the wheels rotating that fast it causes problems, easier to just buy some 10mm hub-centric TBF.

I just changed the whole starter on mine as it had seen better days and its one of those jobs you don't really want to have to do again. Saying that, no its not. If your removing the starter just be sure to place a jack under the engine and hold the weights as two starter bolts go through to the front engine mount. if your slow and take your time, 2-3hrs? just fiddly with the front end on and as i had to take it off anyways it makes access alot easier as everything you need to get to id right there in front of you. I know this is a OLDDD thread, but my car did the same as the orignial poster, and all i did to fix it was make sure the king lead, and all over leads were fitted correctly, spraying WD in and around the Dizzy and it had all got abit damp stopping the car from even attempting to turn over.

Yellow 'Rado, think its was a 16 valver in tesco carpark, cheltenham, looked nice.

^^ thanks, Although i have fixed this just :camp: turned out it was the king lead, either wasn't attached properly, must have worked its way out...? does that explain why it was also fine once jumped? so basically bought a starter for no reason, at least i know that's all sorted. Just gotta get it all back tomorrow as the lights have dimmed :( might be worth checking for other people who can't start there car, i was almost convinced it was immob. related or as you mentions, ignition barrel, although it usually starts on the button and i had gave it a jiggle and few hard turns. crisis over for now, though i can see how you could easily have chucked $$$ at the car and you would been none the wiser,to

Hey guys, New to the posting but have been reading up on the forums alot, although this problem has me stumped. Drove the car last night, bought some axl stands and when i came out it would not start? its not cranking but the fuel pump does prime? I though either immobliser or Starter? battery seems fine, plus have changed it for a 'known' good one and still, nothing :( Changed the starter today, still same old problem, this is how i wired the starter up; red live : washer : earth : nut? with the live 'connector'? also connected to its plug, seems right to me but may have missed something. it has a scorpian alarm, but that seems to work fine, lock, unlocked and all that jazz. do you think its a relay/fuse problem? also the very right yellow connector next to the battery is connected, but the wires that go to the tube looking thing next to that is snapped off, would this stop the car starting? Love the G, and so did the recovery man last night but we both agreed it would be much better if it actually started. PS, we bumped it last night and it all fired up fine? PPS its also very low on fuel, but this wouldn't have anything to do with it would it, its didn't run out or run dry? anyone who could help is welcomed, beer tokens available :D Thanks, Pete.
