  1. Would you be interested in a full 2.8 24v conversion at all?
  2. Sorry guys - there has been somebody PM before the replys to the thread and paid. NOW SOLD
  3. Pics are as they are and as you see it. It's in good condition and I'd be happy to fit it to my car, but prefer the VW badged grill. Is there specific pictures you want to see? It's a painted badge less grill with no damage. Yes it's still for sale.
  4. Corrado 24v Track Car Make: VW Model: Corrado Colour: Burgundy Pearl Year: 1994 Engine size: 2.8 24v V6 (220bhp) Fuel type: Petrol Transmission: Manual 5 Speed Mileage: 110k on clocks but all over the place MOT: Expired 11/05/15 Price: ?3900ono but options available - see below description Location: Livingston Central Scotland Contact number/Email: Pm me. My mate and I who share this car are looking to sell/break the Corrado. We have fallen out of love with the car after our ordeal with the driveshaft/gearbox oil seal in Belgium and the costs have racked up for us to get the car home. Car has just returned to the UK and will be back in Livingston next week at some point ready for potential viewings. If there is no interest in the car as a whole, we will start to break the car START WITH THE BAD 1)The car requires a new gearbox seal to make it good for an MOT, but the current gearbox also has a knackered first gear which whines/grinds. Car still pulls away fine using 2nd gear due to the torque. The gearbox fitted is from a 2.3 v5 Mk4. We have a spare one to come with the car if wanted. The current gearbox in he car is fitted with a Pelequin LSD. A new SACHS clutch was fitted 1000 miles ago. 2)As mentioned above, the MOT expired on Monday past. Hindsight says we should'v put a fresh MOT on the car before going to Europe with it, but the failure of the driveshaft was mega unexpected, as was the hassle getting the car home 3)Rust starting to show on bottom of drivers door - probably due to water accessing via the perspex windows and gathering at the bottom of the door 4)Jacking points are a bit flattened due to previous owners being unable to jack a car up right (not Jay, they were like this 2 years ago when we fitted the Enkei wheels to the car) 5)Various dents/scratches as expected for a 21 year old car. Main bad ones being around drivers door where was attempted to be stolen in Jays ownership. THE GOOD BITS KW V1 Coilovers Pelequin LSD 24V 2.8 4mo engine by fitted by PSI tuning many years ago - wiring repaired by Doodles in 2014 - 220bhp and 240lb/ft Weichers full roll cage Magnex exhaust with decat and straight through mid section Comp MO 16" Alloy wheels x5 Yokohama AD08R tyres x6 (two being brand new) 312mm brake Upgrade (Brembo Maxx GT discs, EBC Yellow stuff pads, done less than 2000 miles and two track days) New rear discs, pads and wheel bearings Short Shifter + Weighted Gearknob Perspex Windows with Sliding Section Carbon Fibre Lightweight Bonnet Cobra Suzuka Fixed Bucket Seats (think they are still in date) Takata 4-Point 3" Harnesses Takata Door Pulls/Tow Straps New Clutch (done 1000 miles) Lightweight race battery box OMP Targa 330mm Suede Steering Wheel & Snap off boss TRS Helmet Hammock Auto Spoiler Works PRICE OPTIONS ?3900ono AS IT STANDS The price can be brought down lower depending on what you don't want and we take off the car ?3200ono BRING YOUR OWN WHEELS ?2700ono BRING YOUR OWN WHEELS AND SEATS Depending on the deal, if enough of a deposit is left for the car and enough of an interest is shown, we could have the gearbox seal repaired, or gearbox swapped out. If this is of more interest, please PM and we can discuss a deal. I genuinely love the car to drive. Its incredibly capable. I've considered plenty times over the past few days of buying out my mate from the car and having it as 100% my own, but i don't have the money to do that at the moment after having the car brought back from Europe etc. Pictures speak a thousand words. 8. Hi guys. So my mate and I went on our merry way towards Spa and Nurbirgring for our double track day. All was going well until 720 miles just outside spa, the driveshaft decided to come undone form the gearbox just outside Liege. We got a new driveshaft next day and fired it on, thought we were in the jackpot, but the cup for the gearbox has also pulled out a bit and appears to have burst the gearbox oil seal. gearbox oil ****ing everywhere. My mate and I are defeated with the car, and have copped a bit of a bill getting the car back to Uk. So are looking to sell We are contemplating whether to try and sell as a whole needing repaired or even partially repaired, or whether to strip the car for parts and break it. From the initial page it has a large spec, it also now has AD08R tyres fitted to the 5 Comp MO alloy wheels, a Pelequin LSD, short ratio gearbox (althugh 1st gear isn't very good) and a few other bits and bobs we have repaired on the car. To sell as a whole - we'd probably be asking around the £3800 mark, as this is where we value the car to be. In parts its probably worth around the same if not more . What are your thoughts? I will post up some pictures of the car as it is in a minute or two onc ei can get flickr to work on this computer. Heres a link to our build thread - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=89853 Cheers Steve

  10. Used to have a drumkit and a trumpet. Was pretty good on both. Drums I'd take up again in a heartbeat. When at school, was part of the regional wind band and orchestra. Trumpet in the wind band, drums and percussion in the orchestra. Was excellent at the time. Wish I had kept on with the drums.
  11. Lilfuzzer price dependant I could be interested, as they could come in handy later and also the fella I share the Corrado with has a Mk4
  12. Seems like the crowd have f**ked up with the listing. 'There are 2 options avaliable for a VR6' and they showed the listing for a Vr6, a 2.0 16v and also a 2.0 8v - all having the same 2 options. Appears that it is laziness of the list from the supplier as they are listing the 4 stud and 5 stud options on both the same cars. Company have admitted fault though and are sending VR6 calipers at the price of 2.0 16v - so happy days
  13. UPDATE So rather than send me the calipers, they have given me two options. Here are pictures. I don't have the car with me at the moment to check - anybody able to tell me what ones are for a Corrado??
  14. Few pics of it on track Now in garage for a 2.3 V5 FBK gearbox fitment with a Peloquin LSD, mid box removed from the exhaust and stickier tyres. new gearbox has same ratios but a 3.9 FD rather than 3.3 - will help us loads on the corners in 3rd gear and should get us well into 4th on the straights. Next track day 3rd April
  15. Thanks Jim. I did think they were all the same. The Mk4 upgrade was considered, but is a little more expensive and we'd need to buy new brake hoses as well. We already have braided items fitted so didn't want to go down the route of changing them over again. The corrado ones will be up to the job for now. Thanks mate
  16. Just bought a set of rear calipers from ebay listed for a 91-95 Corrado VR6. The company messaged back saying their are different variants for the Corrado Vr6. Now stating Iv bought the wrong calipers and the right ones are more expensive and are listed for a Mk4 TDI. I've told them I'm not paying any extra as I am of the understanding all Corrado VR6 rear calipers are the same Am I right in saying the above, or is there an alternative for them? What else is the same fitment rear caliper as a Corrado VR6? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers
  17. Had a look and it's marked as sold. Thanks though. Should say it's to fit s VR6 model Thanks
  18. As per title, Before buying a KW set new for £308, seeing whats available pre-owned from the forum members. Anybody got anything? Giving it until Sunday/Monday next week then we'll be ordering the KW's Thanks
  19. Found a couple of V5 gearboxes on eBay reasonably priced. These are fitted with a 3.9 final drive. I'm considering purchasing this box and fitting the Peloquin LSD to it from the CCM box. The gearbox codes from the V5 boxes are FBK and DZL. From a hit searching both are very similair. Anybody have any experience with either if these boxes?
  20. Mark, very good to meet you. Great getting a chat with you. No doubt see you at a few more later in the year.
  21. Car was faultless today. Very good session with it but seriously need to look into gearbox options. Couldn't get above 100mph or into 4th gear, and the change over between 2nd and 3rd isn't ideal for coming out of some of the corners.
  22. Todays track day confirmed the gearbox ratios are far too long. COuldn't get beyond 100mph, top end of 3rd and your were about 30yards short of braking point rather than changing into 4th. It was very wet for most of today so will get quicker when dry, but not that much. Frustrating, but great track day overall. Now to look into the options properly of what box to get/build. Coullstars mentioned one of 3.6 FD and G60 3rd sound promising.
  23. Had a look on the gearbox and the plaque on the top is missing where the code is usually. Is there anywhere else on the gearbox i can find the code?
  24. Cheers lads. The brakes were really bad prior, much much better now. Will see what its like tomorrow and take it from there. HummuH i take it you won't be on track yourself? Will need to pick your brain about a few things as well about the car. See you tomorrow.
  25. After the wheels came some track prep as we have our first outing tomorrow afternoon on the Track Scotland track day. The seats are now custom mounted and we changed them for a pair pair of Cobra Suzukas. In time we'll also change the blue material for black. At the same time we had 4-point Takata Harnesses fitted. Much more comfortable all together and more useable. The Momo Team 280 was swapped for an OMP Targa 330mm Suede number. Some roll cage padding was then fitted also. Brakes upgraded from standard discs and pads to Brembo Max discs and EBC Yellow Stuff pads. Feel good after some aggressive road driving but the real test will be on Saturday after some laps. The car also received some maintenance in the rear bias valve spring being repaired as it was jammed, the brake fluid was changed in its entirety, and an oil leak was sourced and repaired where the temp sensors etc go in. On top of this, a decat was fitted to give the car a bit more noise and it sounds excellent now. Also feels a bit better to drive. It was the round to Dougie @ Trix to have the arches rolled as the wheels were catching slightly, and a racker suns trip fitted as well. Another purchase we've made but not had time to have done before Saturday is a CCM gearbox with a Peloquin LSD fitted. We'll look into that being fitted next month before its next track day. I 'think' we are now ready for tomorrow. See how we get on i suppose. Hopefully the weather is a bit better than when i took the pics yesterday lol
