hi, try using a screw driver as a stricker pin to activate the lock mech when the boot is open. if it clicks locked and you can then release it with the button, repeat it a few times to be 100% sure the mech is working. if it doesnt do this then the mech is dead im affraid. if it is working then the pin on the rear panel will have slipped down or bent, preventing the mech from engaging the pin. so you would have to adjust the pin up so that the mech can engage the pin again. capiche? haha good luck pal. si

Ha Ha i knew it would rattle some cages puttin that pic on. everybody who sees the colour wants it, regardless of what vehicle it is :D . was going to hold back until someone mentioned doing an orange (hoping really lol). the only snag with doing it in matt is that it looses its amber look in some light. it still looks like a good orange but not as vibrant, obviously coz its no reflective properties with being matt. If i do it that colour, would you guys class it more as race than euro? i dont want to do a max power and have a car thats neither one nor the other ie a focus with a veilside rep kit on :gag: if i was to go orange i was thinking all the same colour lights all round clear or smoked, poss graphite or blackish wheels and some graphics of some sort but NOTHING to lairy as the colour will do the work. do i still get rid of the side repeaters ect ect feel like im getting there guys thanks si.

how about this orange, this used to be my car and the orange is a non production demo colour by a paint manufacturer. i can do it matt also, did it on a ktm superduke. had to use a link as i dont know how to add a pic on here. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v73/d ... 0276-1.jpg thought that it would make a bit of a change on a "c" as i havnt seen one. i am going to take quiet a few of the body mods on board with what i do but i doubt i will do em all, have to see how things go when i start ripping the car to bits lol

Awesome guys, this is what i wanted to hear and read. have to say i do like the bronze and i like the idea of matt. it is a pig to do matt and make it good so that would be good for the attention and some recognition (got to massage the ego a little lol). Would you like to see a colour other than black done in a matt finish? I like the idea of getting rid of the side repeaters, would colour coding the door handles go down well. i will deffo be getting rid of the badges but probably not the corrado ones on the back. Oh, the bronze you mentioned, there is another bronze that i have seen its on volk racing TE37's, i refurbed some in this colour and they looked amazing and they were done matt. Please please please keep the ideas coming. thanks, si.

I was trying to keep my opinions to myself of what i wanted to do, so i could find out if i am going in the right direction. im after popular opinion of what people want to see done to a corrado. i will gladly tell all about what i have in mind when i get some feedback. i will say that i had some porsche themes in mind. colours arent a prob i do it all. but i wont go full euro look. I want big impact from the colour option (not bright pink lol) and subtle changes that will appeal across the vw world. i will also take on board any ideas people may have on mods that havnt been done before due to labour cost ect. thanks, si

Going to change the colour of my G60 come hell or high water, but would really like to hear peoples opinions as to what colour i should do it. i do have some ideas in mind but would like to know im going in the right direction as i will be selling the car in the not too distant future when i have completed the job of bringing the car back to top notch. At the mo its dragon green with no rust anywhere but does have disrespect damage in various places, im going to do the job full on with the glass out and a full strip down. Im not going to throw thousands at interior and wheels ect as i have a set of oz super t's lined up. as for the interior i may buy a late spec interior and do a full convertion inside. so treat it as a blank canvas so to speak because if i like your ideas better than mine then i will do it. ive done a fair few dem cars and show cars including a mk4 that went to the show in telford 2 week ago so this isnt an exercise in wasting time. i will be waiting for your input guys. cheers, si.

200 quid!? jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus. wish i could get away with charging that for a dent that size on a wing. maximum that should cost at a good bodyshop is 180 inc vat. id be trying the dent master route or another bodyshop. No wonder we get a rep for ripping people off when prices like that are thrown around. id qoute 120 done for that damage. good luck. si

hi,if i read the post right, you have a crack in the wing on the arch section. you dont need a flexible filler even if there was one, the wheel caught the arch and will most likely do so again at some point, seeing as the wing edge needs repairing anyway, i would be tempted to roll that part of the arch out of harms way then get the crack welded up, then you can do as you wish with the paint side of things. If you were to just fill the crack it will either start to bubble due to moisture trying to get through from behind the crack. or it will just crack again, both of these will occur within a very short space of time. the best thing to do really is get it welded up its only a small crack and a decent bodyshop would do it for pennies. plus you save a load of time and grief. si

Try machine mart too, they have a pretty good range of polishing products that go on a number of tools from dremmels to bench polishers. si

Thanks guys, its a 92. im presuming that the lift pump is in the tank? I have found a poxy plastic fuel filter at the back of the engine, is this the genuine one? Take it that i am blind guys as regards the corrado ive been in the land of the turbo rice burners for 15 years, ask me anything about them and we are set, but ze german stuff im rusty as hell with. the mechanical side im fine and can do, just need pointing in the right direction. thanks again, si.

Hi, having an issue with my g60, the car runs fine and dandy when there is plenty of fuel in the tank, but once it drops below 1/4 of a tank it starts to starve itself of fuel and miss when i go anywhere above half throttle, if i stay gentle and just plod around i can run the car into the red on the guage. therefor hopefully eliminating a dodgy fuel guage. has anyone ever had this prob and if so heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllp lol. thanks again. si

hi. depending on what condition the bonnet is in depends on the price, and if all the bonnet needs colour all over rather than a minor area colouring then the rest laquering, then i would insist on blending the colour into the front wings so that the colour was spot on. A price for a bonnet to be repaired and the colour kept inside the panel then a full laquer would be around 200-250 this is a fair price and would see you getting a good job. if the whole panel needs colour and then blending you should be paying around 50 per blended panel. so effectively you would be looking at getting the bonnet and wings done for 350 max. as for the other person who needs the bumpers and rear panel doing, if you were to grace my door in would cost 300 for the 2 bumpers and i would throw the rear panel in for free, feeling generous today lol. bumpers normaly cost around 150-200 depending on work each. again this would secure a very high standard of work. Yes there are people who will do the work for less but it isnt always good work you get. its very rare you get high quality for cheap money. like snide ipods and stuff, never quite good enough or right. hope this helps and i havnt sent anyone to sleep. si.

hi, im not too sure if its a mot failure, if the car comes with side repeaters and they dont work then its a fail, but if it doesnt have them how can it be a fail i.e some cars dont have a reverse light, its not a fail come mot time. ive got a golf mk 4 coming in to have his side repeaters removed and smoothed and he isnt concerned what so ever, i dont think many mot guys would pick up on the side repeaters missing, but they would if they werent working, hope this makes a little sense ha ha. cheers, si
