Thanks man, really happy how its turned out. Yeah the body on its mint now. Guys done a excellent job and cannot fault. Spent ages flattenting and polishing it making sure there is no orange peal etc. Indeed it is, keep it that fresh all the time 8)

Finally all back together. Will get better pictures when theres actually some nice weather as its just typical it rains when im just finished it. Here goes anyway, nice and fresh with all defects removed. Bright strong solid yellow again :D New late spec interior is all in with new parts aswell but shall get pics of that once iv fully cleaned it properly when its dry.

Good work mate, bought a storm myself to bring back to its former glory. Was it £10.13 for all four of the bbs centre caps or was that the price per one? Need to get them for the storm im doing as wheels are going off to be redone. -
Cheers mate. Eh its 205 40 16s im sure. Falken tyres all round on it the same size.

Yeah love having the new bonnet on the front end. Sanded down the old indicators aswell as someone tinted them blue and i wasnt into it at all. Need to buy a new grill for it too as its had something stuck to it which has marked it all one one side. Keeping the same type of gril that it has though as i like having a badge. Getting there to be like a new car :) Put some of the new parts on inside too but scared im going to mess them up as im still working on it. Back wheels used to have issues when i bought it but none now. I rolled the arches once i got it back up from buying it but before they were rolled it was torture. ripped two tyres at the back to shreds. Need to get the back down lower though but the coils are right down the now.

Better pics! Car is bit more back together now and almost all flattened. Just a little bit more and the roof and can buff it all back up. Cant get any futher with the interior the now as my headlining is looking gash using autoglym black dye so ordering other stuff to try and hopefully have it all fitted by the weekend again going to plan. Before flatteneing., finish straight off the gun: During flattening but not buffed up yet:
-
 Should have some better pics of how it really is now soon. New interiors coming together but just waiting to finish my headlining before putting it all back in. Started to flatten it all today so hopefully not too long till atleast this stage is complete.
-
Lol yeah overall it was generally not too bad but bits here and there made me go the full hog and get it all done and new panels to remove any rust. Everythings the way it should be now and just planing on continuing to do more and more the longer i have it. Yeah im back over west now where i actually have a drive to work on it properly as couldnt really do much out on the street where it was.

Got painted last monday but i left it in ma mates garage to let it harden up. Was away in germany all week so wasnt going to have time to build it back up for loudon today sadly. Worked on putting it back together saturday and sunday and starting to look more like a car again. Still to be flattened and polished so not putting everything back on right now but the finish off the gun is minted. Never got any pics the day but heres some i took saturday. Sadly a bit shit. All 4 good wheels are back on it now and slammed it back down. Want the back lower but coilovers are fully down and dont have helper springs which i could take out. Front can still go more but need to space the wheels a little as tyres rubbing the coil. Will get better pics the mora.

Yeah man really did consider taking the rear badge away but didnt want to just fill it for it to crack in a few months down the line. Was going to do away with the rado badge aswell but iv bought a brand new badge for the back so that shall be going on anyway. Did away with the aerial on the roof though. Metal plate put underneath it and then resin used so it doesnt have any filler in it to cause any issues. Yeah im very dubious about who i get to do any work. Had some work done on my vr6 golf before by a bodyshop and wasnt happy with it at all. Its one of my mates whos doing the work and im there most of the time when its getting done so any problems or that i know about and anything he is fixing he lets me see before continuing on. Cant say i trust many bodyshops as i know i wouldnt get the same amount of prep as im getting just now.
-
Cheers man, hoping it does too. Should do with the amount of prep we are putting in. Me too :) Just want to get it all built back up nice and fresh now. Yeah man wanted to take away any areas that had even slight rust etc. Back arches have been causing a few problems from previous work which has been done on them but the guy doing it for me is a perfectionist and has spent two days alone on them already so should be perfect.
-
Finally some progress pictures. Cars pretty much sitting ready to be fully hit with paint now. All shuts and other areas have been painted. Some pics:

Getting there, just waiting on it being taken to spayers the now. Didnt get it up today due to weather and other priorities. Yeh man the sheilds are just painted. Thankfully they were in good condition. Have a feeling they must have been replaced before as they usually rot away. Want the final product to be near perfect so had no option but to prep it by stripping it to this extent. Appreciated man.

Picked up the new interior for it the day thanks to vardo. Minted, all it needed was a good clean and a plastic handle which i took from my old seats. Perfect sunshine, nice n warm for cleaning them and letting them dry so came up minted. Late spec VR stuff as im not into leather. Got ma dye for the headlingin aswell but need to buy another two cans as the can was gone in no time.
-
Not long indeed man, canny wait. See you soon  Lol the misses doesnt like the yellow but she didnt get a choice in the matter  Front and rear screen dont need to come out as theres a seal that comes out the whole way round them to paint right into the glass and then seal goes back in. Front drivers and passenger windows are out as full doors inside and out are geting sprayed along with all door shuts. Only bit im having to mask is the rear triangles as they are bonded and a nightmare for cracking. Along the top and side will be no bother as the seal can fold in on itself and then be popped back out after sprayed. Just the lower part where meets quarter but ill be there when its getting masked up etc so shall make sure its perfecto. Yeah man dont worry ill be making sure theres minimal sign of it even having a respray apart from the nice new fresh paint :)

Starting to get everything cleaned up for when its back from being sprayed so did the wheels the other day. Meguiars degreasered, billberry washed tar removered chemical guys wheel sealant finished off with p21s concours wax Picking up the new interior for it on saturday morning all goin to plan. Shall get that all cleaned up and shampood for it going in. Just going for late spec black cloth. Not a big fan of leather. Especially with the heat the now. Bit of harlequin corrado going on at the minute but all good as means that i finally have new wings :D Totally rot free and fit perfect. Went for later spec ones off a VR. Not sure of the differnce but look good :uhm: Prep on full body starts monday, paint should be on by wednesday all going to plan :D Decreasered all the lower sections at the back aswell today
-
Will look better on the car :D Still collecting parts for it all going back together as fresh as possible.
-
Sadly not...yet. Not sure what route i want to go down with the interior. Was wanting to fit leccy windows so will need new door cards for that anyways so shall wait and do that all at once. Wouldnt mind even just putting in the later spec cloth black interior.

Fired on some more yestarday. Managed to rip all this rubbish out which wasnt even needed. An old disk changer or something had obviously been installed: Then about how stripped it is the now. Still to get the headlining out but do that soon. Will take the full dash out closer to spray time but still want it functional the now. Thankfully no rot in the floor pan which was pretty chuffed with :)
-
Paint arrived today. 3 litres of lovely Nugget Yellow :D Started stripping some of the rear end out today. Going to raise the full car for it getting sprayed so will be some 4x4 corrado action on the go soon.

Before its Make over. Rocking some more schmidts ofcourse.

Thought id update this a bit. So recently iv had some more time on my hands. Iv sorted all the interior up really. Got brand new genuine from dealer leather gearknob, leather handbrake handle, cap for lock mechanism, handbrake sleeve and a few other bits and pieces. Have also bought a full new tunnel for it as the other one was gubbed. Screw holes and all messed up at fixing points. Got a new leather gear gaitor aswell with yellow stitching. Outside wise bodywork just wasnt happy with it so the time has come for a full outside respray. Outside wise i think round about 2008 the sides were sprayed but since then some bubles have appeared and some lovely individual had keyd the back quarter. The car will be getting fully stripped in the next week or so for a full spray job. Shall have 2 new wings fitted and a vr6 power bulge bonnet. Other bits iv done away with the orange painted calipers from when i bought it and grinded all the old paint off. Having them nice and fresh silver. All the dust plates have been painted up too. Along with fully stripped the coilovers and gave them a freshen up. Lowered the rear down to the most it can go on the coils while i had them off and removed the 10mm spacers at the back as it just stuck out a tad to far. Heres the only pics as of just now but it will only get worse before better as the car will be going to get sprayed fully gutted and on steel wheels. Plan is to have it ready for the 20th June when its on stand for ScottishVAG at Loudon Castle in Scotland. Bit of prep going on for the bonnet:

Sadly funds would not allow that to happen.

Alot of folk seem to say they arent a fan till they have seen it. Maybe a good thing lol. Yeah was really happy with the mk3,put a lot of work into it. I would of put a 2.9 vr into the rado but iv done the vr6 route before and wanted something else to do this time. With the 20vt it will be alot more tuneable and as they didnt come from the factory with one in it will be differnt.
