  2. I have to say I've never been scared by a Corrado, it's always been ultimately forgiving when you do something stupid. And winding up fishtailing under heavy braking from 90 on a wet, bumpy, narrow and curved road on the first test drive I think it's fair to say I know how forgiving they can be.. (That corner just wasn't visible till it was too late, and you know how it is on test drives.. you're not in your home turf..) I totaly agree, since owning it the car actually instills a confidence with the cars ability, although there has been the odd fill your pants moment , but that was human error, launching over the crest of a hill ( scottish highlands by the way) and finding out that was the top and there is nothing but steep descent after that is enough to put any car to the test. Awsome road by the way.......... I have added it to my tour from the house. :salute:
  3. What's your camber set to? upon a further gander, the front doesnt look right, one side is vertical and the other looks more on the positive side of things. time for a vist to a geom speacialist possibly, would it be advisable to upgrade the arb before i go. once again cheers for your input guys.
  4. ta muchly guys :salute:
  5. Hi guys just upgraded my shocks and springs on my vr6, H&r springs on standard shocks. The old ones were evidently humped. i have been looking into the workings of the passive rear steering. Since i have changed its made such a difference to the car, but just wanted to check that i have is set up correct. cornering is ace, it turns in so sharp to the point of feeling a bit like oversteer, am i being dufuss and is this the active steering doing its job? when i was reading about passive steering it said it was meant to eliminate overstear, but that was a rear wheel drive set up. having not driven any other corrados i have nothing to compare it to. i thought it was meant to do that until my friend drove it and he said he thought ot felt like the back was going to slide out, he has had mark2 golf gti,s. i then explained it was the passive rear turning the back in. he was unsure. Can someone fill me in on this please. Cheers guys
  6. yeah liking this post, done me bit putting the mark on the north east of the isle. It may be cold and windy but the roads a perfect and free for these cars  :salute:
  7. yeah got both driver side, never thought of swapping them though. tried bending them but didnt make much difference. cheers peeps
  8. hi guys done the lupo wiper conversion ( aberdeen vw fleeced me the arse of £90 for the arms and blades) and the drivers wiper works fine, but on the passenger the wiper doesnt run clean over the wipe area. It leaves a section on the middle un wiped at the middle section of the balde. Was wondering if anyone else experience this and if its easy enough to cure. Once again i bow to your wisdom :notworthy: si
  9. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my bad, cheeeeerss
  10. hi guys, been reading a hell of a lot on suspension. Was favouring to go for h&r springs on konis t/a but having looked at the total cost am i just better going the hog and getting coilovers. dg autotech. they are Corrado VR6 - KW Variant 1 - INOX made by KW and Wietec range. Has anybody else puchased them, or had experience with them?

    engine mounts

Hi guys Needing to replace me engine mounts and gear box one also. Are vibratechnincs worth the extra dosh? Or are there other products out there better than standard. Me Vr in a 94 plate. Or should i stay with standard? Spoke to my friend who used to own a mark2 gti and he said it pulls the car together. Once again your wisdom is always greatkey recieved. Cheers simo

  13. Hi guys i was wondering whats the biggest tyre width and size combination to fit on to standard shocks and lower 30mm springs. Im actually looking for the best allround setup. i was planning to begin with h&r spring on standard shock. i would like to achieve sharpness, less body roll but not to stiff of a ride. maybe upgrade shocks at a later date. i have read the springs thread so got a bit of an idea. That then comes down to wheel and tyre size. currently 15, 205, 50. was thinking of slapping 17" on them but was wondering whats the widest i can safely stick on 17"s. i know pofile increases road noise. Any thoughs or experience in this matter would be ace. cheers simo

    abs sensor

hi guys i was wondering if someone vould help shed some light on my problems. Replaced the front off side abs sensor off ebay. the guy claims its a genuine vw siemens part. ebay item number:110534958363 i installed it and at speed the abs works fine, its only when i am slowing down and doing say five miles and hour the abs pump kicks in, sometimes slightly sometimesmore. Has anyone experience this before and is it related to the sensor??? cheers guys simon
  16. howdy do. Can anyone recommend a good place to get coolant hoses for my vr6. Anywhere other than main dealer. Looking for the hose that goes from cylinder head to heatmatrix, got a ikle nic on it. cheers folks
  17. cheers guys, Gave biggred a call and he is sending some repair kits out with everything i need cheeper than getting just the front seals from VW. :notworthy: :salute: Just recieved my goodridge lines hope they come soon so i can get back out in the wildrness.
  18. Can anyone tell me a good place to purchase piston seals for mybrake callipers please? Got girling g60 on the front and standards. Be Aberdeen wasn't 37 bucks a corner for the girlings and 20 a corner for the rear. Think that's a bit pricey for two rubber seals. Any info would be aprreciated.
  19. howdy do folks. Managed to aquire girling twin pot callipers from a friend, they came off a 90 quattro. the callipers fit fine but the pads overlap the inside of the disk about four milimeteres. Pads dont appear to foul anything but i have concerns that it could become an issue as the pads wear down. Is there a fix for this either slightly narrower pads or a five stud disk with a slightly thicker pad area. Cheers simon
  20. cheer guys much appreciated. You were right i could only get on strap for the biggy tank. Just as a plus, or minus note, god dam VW parts are chargeing £40 for just one lupo arm, and 15 for the blades, plus vat. So for two with blades thats over a 100 quid, not nice.. once again thanks for the info
  21. howdy do i am getting a slight winw from the engine bay just after i start me vr6. i think it may be the starter motor, would i be correct in my assumption. or is it clutch related? any ifo would be appreciated. si
  22. Hi just bought my first carrado and now embarking on the journey of preserving this amazing machine. Was wondering if that 100 quid owners workshop book is the only one out there. And if anyone knows where i can get fuel tank support straps from? Cheers simon
