  1. Hi Guys, Just went down to my corrado to find the steering wheel lock wont come off. The engine starts ok but the wheel wont move. I've tried wiggling it. Wasn't an urgent trip so I might call the AA out tomorrow or try the spare key and WD40. Any ideas/experiences from anyone would be a great help. I did a quick search and it look like it might be a horrible job. Thanks

    Respray?

Whitedog and A1 VR6 both sound like good options, I'm going to have to do some more research I think. Thanks for the replies.

    Respray?

Wow, they did a great job. I'm hoping that mine wont need that much work, but i guess the only way to find out is to start talking to bodyshops.

    Respray?

So I'm thinking of getting a respray. The paint on my car is pretty bad, there are spots that need doing on pretty much every panel and various spots of rust. The bonnet is the worst, the heat has made the paint matte in patches. I reckon that by the time all the little bits have been done I may have well paid for a full respray. I'm sure some of you guys have has resprays, I just want to know if you think its worth it and how much should I be paying? Can anyone recommend anywhere around the west midlands/hertfordshire area? Thanks in advance.
  5. Ok, just found a halfords (yeay) relay for the headlight. I swapped it for a new one and its made no difference. Probably the switch?
  6. Hi guys, Done a search on this but just wanted to double check. I got home the other day to find my headlights wouldn't shut off. Dash lights work as they should. I unplugged the headlight switch and that didn't help so I disconnected the battery and that turned them off. When I reconnected the battery they didn't come back on until I pressed the switch but again wouldn't turn off. From doing searches can I assume that this is a dodgy relay under the bonnet somewhere? I can't tell if someone has tried to up-rate the headlights already, all I know is they are as good as a candle in a jam jar and the wiring looks a complete mess. Also my wipers keep popping off the motor arm, this coupled with the lack of decent light makes driving on a wet night.... interesting to say the least. Its had a lupo wiper conversion, it looks like there might have been a clip there once? Thanks again.
  7. Thanks. I will check the fuses. I have repaired the seat clip thing. To check out the motor will i have to take the seat out. Thanks so much for the detail info, I just need to know how to get to the motor without wreaking the seat anymore.
  8. Hi Just found out my electric seat adjustment has stopped working. Its only in the drivers, the back rest tilt. Its not the switch as I have swapped the drivers and passenger one over. I can only assume a connection has dropped out or the motor has packed up? I have tried to access the motor with little success. All I've managed to do it break the plastic bit that that keeps the seat covers together. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have half leather recaros by the way. Thanks.
  9. I have the problem of trying to do something relatively simple and then leaving my car in a worse state. On my first punto I tried to put new hub caps on and rounded the threads holding the wheels on.
  10. Rev counter, Petrol and temp gauge, MFA and spoiler. This is due to me dicking around with the HU. Its being serviced today too so I recon theres more to come. Watch this space.....
  11. Quite possibly. The car is away being serviced today (fingers crossed) so I will check for blown fuses when it gets back. Thanks for the help!
  12. Theres a blue/grey wire which is not connected to anything and I have not connected to anything either but last night I did see a spark but could not tell where it came from.
  13. I've made a stupid mistake. I have fitted a new head unit to my Corrado and managed to screw up my spoiler, MFA, petrol gauge and rev counter. None of them work at all now. :epicfail: I read a thread which said to avoid connecting a blue wire to anything or letting it short on the body. I think I have managed to short it somehow. It doesn't help that some idiot had wired in an amp and sub which weren't even connected to anything. I removed these and everything worked ok its only since I've been fiddling with the head unit that I've had these problems. Any help on this would be great.
