    Wet Carpet!

Finally got round to locating the problem Saturday and found it to be the same as black66's. It seems to be the seal around the air intake to the blower system. Took it off and the plastic was all wet but had gone stiff and shriveled up. Also noticed that underneeth this between the metal of the scuttle tray and the plastic leading down to the fan inside there was some soaking wet & perished foam kind of seal that I was able to get out with a pair of long nosed pliers. Dried it all out with a hair dryer and cleaned up all inside the scuttle tray, then got some bathroom silicone sealent and put loads of it in the gap and around the bottom of the plastic cover. Put it back on and guess what.... No rain came in after last nights down-pour :D Just got to get a de-humidifier in there now to dry everything out & keep my fingers crossed that I have actually fixed it.
  3. Thanks Jim & Alex for this post. I started to watch it on the tele and didnt get to see most of it coz I had 3 fone calls from mates saying did you know the corrado is on top gear? Doh!

    Wet Carpet!

Havent driven my carrado in two days, in that time it has been raining non stop. It had been parked facing upwards on a slope. Went out to it this afternoon and there is a puddle about an inch deep on the passenger side footwell. The carpet is wet on the driver site and even the shelf under the dash is wet. The water is a dark yellow colour, it doesn't smell of coolant and is not greasy. Also my heaters were working fine blowing hot air. The other thing I noticed was that there was water along the passenger door seal inside (the door hadn't been opened), but if it was comming in down the side of the door how does this explain the water on the shelf under the dash? (which is also this dark yellow colour) Could this be water from the heater matrix or would you say its rain water comming in from somewhere else?
  5. Thanks for the advice guys!
  6. On my way to work this morning (5 minutes into my journey) I was comming torwards a junction at about 15mph & slowing down, when the ABS light flickered then stayed on and the stereo cut out. I came to a stop and yanked up the handbrake, took my foot of the brake and the ABS light stayed on and the stereo was turning itself off-on-off-on. It continued to do this for another couple of minutes on a slow moving road, then the light went out, the stereo came back on and it was fine after that. Any ideas what could have caused this? Thanks in advance

  10. Joe, It was £3800 - Got the original BBS Alloys with it as a bonus as well. :)
  11. That was one of the main attractions. An old bloke in summerset owned it for 8 years, then the owner and his brother had had it for 3 years and only drove it round the corner to work and back every day & to vw club meetings. Got tonnes of history with it - which is nice aswell.
  12. It definatly has had a respray at some time in its life as there are some masking lines in the boot, but seems to be the same color. Anyway if it is moonlight blue, im still chuffed to bits with it. 8)
  13. Yeah, the guy did say what they were, but I cant remember. They are ace ones though. Got the original BBS rims with it aswell.
  14. It certainly is tidy, its the best one I have driven as well :D Im lovin it!
  15. Just ordered some FK Smoked rear lights from Gwent VW, other than that I just want to lower it and add an eyebrow spoiler.
  16. Hi Everyone, Firstly I would just like to say thanks to everyone who posts here. I have been a member for a couple of months and there are some excelent topics duscused on here. It has been this website that has helped me select my perfect Corrado after 3 months of searching. (although I have wanted one for much longer than that) Picked it up Saturday from Portsmouth, its fairly standard and has been well looked after by an enthusiast.
