yeah this test will work the same for the 2.0 16v, if you get nothing this suggests fuel pressure is low. is the under-car fuel pump definitely working ok? the lifgt pump alone can send fuel to the metering head but obviously it cant pressurise it enough. the fuel filter is worth a swap as its cheap and easy, have had trouble with this on my old 1.8 16v causing it to not start randomly
