Update because I still haven't solved this problem! I did that idle adjust procedure and I adjusted it down to 950rpms. The same thing is happening. When I blip the throttle the RPM's don't return to 950. Instead of returning to 950rpms they dip for a second down to 800 and immediately jump back up to 950. Idle is smooth and consistant whether hot or cold. Motor has no running issues at all. I replaced the blue coolant sensor and I checked for vacuum leaks and I couldn't find any. I also cleaned the ISV. It wasn't dirty. My car has a Stage 4 KK compressor, RSR charger outlet, 268 cam, 68mm pulley, SNS Stage 4 chip, ISV reroute, charcoal canister removed, 3.5 FPR, Borla exhaust, Eurosport intake. The guys at SNS think its a vacuum leak but my car really doesn't have many hoses and all the ones I checked looked fine. Idle switch is working properly. ISV is working properly too. Idle is not sticking. Are there any common vacuum lines that could be leaking that I didn't find? I don't have many because my charcoal canister has been removed. All the ones I could find are in fine shape.

Car has always run great. I bought it a few months ago. I will check to see if anything is stuck but even if it was.. what would cause the idle to drop to 800 and jump back up to 1100 everytime I rev the motor. Let me explain better. Idle is at a consistant 1100rpms whether the motor is cold or warm. When the engine gets rev'd, instead of returning to 1100 rpms, it goes to 800rpms and immediately jumps back up to 1100.

My 90 Corrado is fully stage 4. It has an SNS Stage 4 chip in it. All of this work was done by the previous owner. This included the correct cam, pulley, Stage 4 compressor by KompressorKanada, ISV Reroute, charcoal canister delete, 3.5 bar FPR, Eurosport intake etc... Car has no vacuum leaks that I could find and it runs like a monster. Since I bought it, the idle sits at a consistant 1100 rpms. Whether hot or cold. Its always at 1100 rpms. When I blip the throttle the rpms increase immediately but when I let off they drop to 800 rpms and then immediately jump back up to 1100rpms. This happens every time. I read a thread here that mentioned that the SNS Stage 5 chip sets the idle at 1100 rpms. I was wondering if the SNS Stage 4 chip does the same thing. It doesn't appear to be a vacuum leak or a dirty ISV ( I cleaned it anyway). It seems more like a computer command coming from the SNS chip.

I am looking for an aftermarket version of this stock VW hose for my 1990 G60. VW Part # on the hose is 357145838A. Its the hose that connects the intake to the plastic intercooler hose. I tried all the normal sources and it seems the only way to get one is to buy the entire hose kit. I am looking for one in red or blue. I need to cut it up for my ISV reroute.

1990 G60, I went to every auto parts store within 20 miles of me and nobody carries any hoses that are these sizes in any colors. I am looking for red. The problem I am having is both the elbow and the large straight section have an oversize flare on one side. I think the problem is the T fitting. Its openings are smaller than the OEM intake and the black plastic intercooler pipe. I would like to replace this entire assembly with something more trick. The elbow and the large straight section are VW hoses. I don't think they are original for this car. The hose that goes from the ISV is a standard heater hose but because the opening in the T fitting is larger than the ISV opening the previous owner put an adapter hose inside the heater hose to reduce it down. Again, I think the T fitting is the problem. Here is a pic of what I want to recreate using red hoses.

I just bought a B&M 45106 short shifter for my 1990 G60. It should arrive anyday. Its a little under $200.00 brand new. They don't make them anymore but they are still available. Its supposed to be a direct bolt in from the inside of the car only. I am changing mine because I don't like the long throw or the side to side play in my stock shifter. Neuspeed makes a really nice one too but its like $400.00 I am going to post a full review when I install mine.

Followed the Bentley manual and rechecked the fan. Both speeds work perfectly. I had grabbed a tutorial online and was checking the wires per the tutorial which was WRONG. Started motor, let it warm up until the temp gauge was reading 160. Fan never came on. I checked the upper radiator hose and it was soft and HOT, I checked the lower radiator hose and it was stone cold and HARD. Thats a stuck closed thermostat to me. Its not allowing hot coolant to flow through the radiator and that is why my new radiator thermo switch isn't turning the fan on.

When I put the AC on and the fan comes on is it low speed or high speed?

I pulled the plug on the radiator thermo switch. With the key in the OFF position.... Red to Red/White ..... nothing. This is supposed to be the low position. Red to Red/Black...... Fan turns on. This is the high position. Am I supposed to be doing this with the key in the on or off position? I have been checking it in the off position.

Could a bad thermostat cause something like this??? My top radiator hose was very hot.

Was driving around for about 10 minutes when I stopped to talk to some friends. I was sitting in the car running for about 15 minutes when one of them noticed my car was leaking antifreeze. I opened the hood and it was just starting to spit out of the vent in the overflow tank. I noticed that the fan was not on. When thinking about it I haven't noticed the fan running when the car was turned off for the last week. I have only driven the car at night for about 10 miles total the entire week. So.. I umplugged the radiator fan switch and I jumped the wires. Red to Red/White.... NOTHING (I think this is supposed to be low speed) Red to Red/Black..... Fan works. Feels like high speed. Put on the AC...... Fan works. So, I traced the wires and noticed that its a a VERY small circuit between the fan, the fan switch, the relay and the battery. All the wires look fine. Very simple set up. So... I replaced the radiator fan relay... it had #53 on it. This relay is along side another relay and they are both bolted to the radiator shroud. I replaced the radiator fan switch. This is the switch that screws directly into the radiator. Fan still doesnt come on. I can't figure this out. Its so simple yet I can't get it to work. Temp gauge went up a little past 160 and the fan still didn't turn on. I was watching the radiator overflow tank and it was rising. It got a little past the max mark about 1/4" from the vent hole and I shut the car down. What the heck could I be missing??? It can't be the fuse under the dash because the fan works when the AC is turned on. I checked it anyway and its fine.

I think this question might be important considering many G60 owners change their air intake systems. I bought a Eurosport intake system which includes the heat shield, the billet flanged pipe (it bolts directly to the G60), and it came with an ITG Maxogen 3 stage cone filter. Its the large gray one with the ITG logo on the side in white. I contacted ITG tech support and spoke to 2 different guys because I have been told by a few guys on the Vortex and other forums online that this filter will damage my supercharger because little pieces of foam will break off and mix with the oil and form a paste which will ruin my supercharger. Both of these technical support guys said that the ITG Maxogen filter is far superior to any type of paper, cotton filter and that the one that I have is made specifically for the Corrado G60 and as long as its clean, it will not damage my supercharger. I am thinking that maybe these guys who are telling me to REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY think I am talking about a foam sock like the style we used to run on the go carts. The ITG Maxogen filter is very high tech with multiple layers of protection. I want to know if any of the guys here are familiar with this filter. First of all, its a $90.00 cone filter (thats just the filter itself) which in my 33 years of wrenching cars means it must be good because you really do get what you pay for when it comes to air filters. I am attaching a link to what the ITG Maxogen filter is all about. Sure, some of it is probably marketing but there is no way they could charge anywhere from $90.00 to $130.00 for a filter and post specs like these that would damage a motor. Anyway... I am not trying to justify my purchase, I just want to post the specs and get more opinions. I have no problem going out and buying a paper cone filter like a K&N but I don't want to if its not necessary. BTW.. I have read a few articles stating that the oil in the K&N filter will damage the supercharger. I have read many more positive reviews on the ITG Maxogen filter than negative ones. Actually, the only negative comments have come from the Vortex and the Corrado forums. Again.. this isn't a foam sock. This is pretty high tech. Are you member of this forum? I have seen your car around town a few times. Very nice Canare Yellow. Looks like it has BBS wheels on it. I only have seen the car as it passed me on the opposite side of Bridgeport Ave a few times. I live in Milford too. Just trying to get it touch.

Hello everybody. Newbie here. I just got a 1990 Corrado G60 that has had a ton of upgrades to it. Everything from a Stage 4 supercharger to Bilstein PSS9 coil overs to Borla exhaust to chromed Porsche Phonedials. Anyway, can anybody tell me what kind of HP I am looking at with the following done to the motor and exhaust? Thanks! I know this is subjective but I would like to get an estimate of how much HP my car is putting out. The car seems to be pretty darn fast to me. Between 4K and 6K rpms it pulls extremely hard and doesn't let up. The previous owner told me the car is putting out 160hp at the wheels but it certainly seems much much more than that to me. From what I read online, a supercharger ported to stage 3 and a stage 3 chip is between 215-235hp at the crank. I don't know how that translates to the wheels but my car is stage 4.
