Hi Si, master cylinder is correct one, compared it to old one before fitting. All brake unions and bleed nipples are ok. Don't know what car was like before as I got it as a non runner due to 8 years storage. Really good solid pedal until you start car. Maybe im being over critical. Will see what mot man s got to say. Cheers, David.

There is a brake, just a lot of pedal travel before anything happens. Cant remember my last corrado having this much travel. Will find out on Monday at mot.

I have replaced brake master cylinder, brake pipes front to rear. Have bled numerous times. Have a nice stiff pedal until I start car. How much travel should be on pedal. I have a brake but its a couple off inches before anything happens. Is this normal. Non abs model. Going for its mot on Monday. don't want to be wasting my money.

Sorted. Blue wire broken in loom where it goes between gearbox and power steering reservoir. Found two wires broken. loom been crushed against reservoir when car been on road. Repaired wires and cable tied loom away from gearbox. Worth checking yours.

Thanks, beginning to think this is problem. proved bulb on dash ok. Light not coming on when blue wire put to earth with ignition on. Will run jury wire in engine bay tomorrow. Think wire broken somewhere along front of engine.

Have a problem with my 1.8 16v. Don't have any charge going to battery when running. Dash light not working either. I have changed alternator and voltage regulator on back of alternator but still same. Is there a relay connected to charge system. It was working ok. Car starts and runs ok. Got me puzzled !!!.

Nice one thanks, seems pretty straight forward . Next job after exhaust refitted.

Hi, do I have to remove front bumper to fit a new wing. I have managed to remove wing with bumper in place, but took a bit of wrestling to free front corner. If so, how does bumper come off. Thanks, David.

No thanks; have one good one for offside. Want to keep it standard. Cheers.

HI, I'm after nearside front caliper for 91 16v. Must be useable with no broken or seized bleed nipple. Early type with s shaped brake pipe that connects flexi to caliper. Cheers, David.
-
BOTH CALIPERS ARE SIEZED SOLID. IS THERE ANOTHER CALIPER THAT CAN BE USED. I'M NOT KEEN ON THIS TYPE, WITH THE SMALL CONNECTING PIPE FROM FLEXI HOSE. WHAT CAN BE USED INSTEAD, I JUST ROBBED POWER STEERING PUMP OFF A POLO SO WHAT ABOUT FRONT CALIPERS. ANY INFO APPRECIATED, Dave.

She lives !!!!!. Took meter head to bits. Central plunger thing was stuck. cleaned it all and put back together, and she fired up. What a result. Well chuffed. Bit smoky and stinky on the old petrol but that will sort itself out with new juice. Cheers for all the help and info. Over the moon. Knew she was a good one.

I pulled out number 1 injector, stuck it in a jar and turned her over. Nothing at all. Split injector from pipe, still nothing. Opened no 1 on top of meter head and turned over, nowt. Got fuel pressure going in to meter head so think something has seized inside. The big metal plate above air filter only moves couple of mm. Getting closer to problem. Next job to remove meter head and check whats what. Have printed off the bosch book , so will have a read up first.

Cheers mate, have another go at it today. Could be a long road. Have you ever taken a metering head to bits.

I have a 91 1.8 16v that has been stood for 8 years. I have replaced external pump filter and accumulator. I now have fuel up to metering head but she wont start. Does any one know if there are any parts that seize up in metering head after time. I have fuel pressure at injector outlets on metering head, can injectors seize or block. I have good spark from dizzy.Plugs are dry, so no fuel. How do you remove injectors, don't want to break owt. Any tech help very appreciated. Cheers , David.

Thanks for that. I have bought one from rs turbo. Read somewhere that someone ran one no problem. Cheaper than buying one that's to fit a vw. Not rusty either as in engine bay. Looks same, off K JET, so should be ok. Ones advertised for vw cost loads and look as rusty as one i'm replacing.
-
Can anyone tell me if i can use a fuel accumulator from a pl engined car on my kr motor. Any help appreciated.

Never seen such a crusty corrado. Think it was driven along beach before being parked up !!. Got two new rear backplates from VW though, bonus. Not many left in stock. Think it was 17 left and 26 right.

She better go after I sort this lot out. Think car was driven along beach before being parked up for 8 years. Never seen such a crusty corrado underneath.Every thing that could sieze, has. Got two new rear back plates from vw though, bonus. Not many left in stock !!!.

Relay had it. Got two from breakers for a quid. Primer pump in tank runs but external one u/s. Every bit of it nla from vw. All on the bench at moment stripping it all down , very rusty. Hey Ho !!!!!.
-
Thanks for that, will check out relay. Would it damage pump if you wired it straight off a battery to check it worked.
-
Ive just picked up a long stored car that wont start. Basic investigation reveals no feed to pump. fuse ok. Was wondering if there is any relays involved and if so what one, don't wont to start throwing money at it till I hear it going. Cheers , Dave.
