  1. Assuming its a proper LPG conversion it'll be sequential injection running an emulator a device which (when running on LPG) basically fools the injector ecu to think that its still running whereas in fact the signal isnt going to the injectors because the LPG injectors are working. Switch back to petrol and the injector circuit is complete and the injectors are firing. Sounds like either the emulator components failed or a wire is broken. Check for broken wires or emulator box damage or if you can plug the injectors back to the original loom and see how it runs. As on VR6 the injectors are burried under the inlet manifold this would need to come off. Hope this helps
  2. I hope i can balance things out a little, they are generally decent cars but take a little time to get used to (starting/power delivery etc) i've come across one that had 180000 and the engine was still going strong but most other things starting to fail, the power steering plays up but this is due to connectors and sometimes can be sorted out by cleaning the connectors. The parts are bloody expensive on these the clutch itself came in at about 350 just for the part fitting aint too bad, the rear light always tends to mist up and become a fish tank and when the CD player stops working you have to replace the whole centre console. Visibility is rubbish but it still looks impressive! The reason why they are falling in price is because they are at the age where things will start needing replacing.
  3. Well done to Vettel, although i didn't really want him to win WDC, he drove brilliantly in the last few races and i think its a win well deserved. Thank god Alonso didn't win! Cant wait for the 2011 season to start, so in 2011 they will use the KERS system again, what about refuelling is it still the same rule?
  4. I doubt they would take it there unless the car was broken down, it depends on your cover if you have national recovery you can choose where it goes otherwise it a local garage AFAIK.
  5. Stay away! I've driven a few Audi A4s although its a very good gearbox performance wise reliability wise its rubbish, if the solenoids dont play up the torque converter/clutch mechanism does, some people fit parts from later Audis (07 onwards) which are said to be uprated. Its more diesels that are affected i dont know whether its because theres alot of torque for the gearbox to handle, the C class and even BMWs are alot more reliable.
  6. Where ever there are rats there are cats, Where ever there are cats there are dogs. If you got the dogs you got bitches. Bitches Always out to put their paws on your riches. If you got riches, you got glitches. If you got glitches in your life computer turn it off and then reboota. Now you back on. :D I think if you had a rat it would be chewing through the brake fluid pipes first.
  7. Do the slave cylinder as well if it seems like its never been done, its not much cost to buy and it can all be done whilst gearbox is out.
  8. Lol same thing with Alonso passing Hamilton, i was thinking im sure he was infront of Alonso a few seconds ago!
  9. Isn't the rest on iplayer? After two hours of careful driving, Massa tripped on the stairs to the podium :D
  10. What a load of p**sies! they wasted an hour dilly dallying. Would've been Hamiltons race if he didnt run wide and let Alonso overtake, feel gutted for Webber why couldn t it have happened to Alonzo??
  11. Yeah i want it to rain, i think Hamilton will pull a move before the second corner on the long straight.
  12. LOL! qualifying was quite good, sneaky little Vettel managed to get pole
  13. Right on to the Korean grand prix, what are your thoughts? I think its going to be a Ferrari track or Mclaren if it rains, looking forward to the qualifying.
  14. Where did you buy the clutch from? What brand? I've come across some clutches that judder even though they were brand new and some release bearing that were noisy, (mainly from ECP & GSF) As mentioned before the surface of the flywheel is an important factor perhaps engine oil is dripping onto the flywheel.
  15. One thing you may want to consider is that the AA do a parts and labour cover where they pay £475 (£500 -25 excess) towards parts and labour if the vehicle breaks down because of it. I know someone who had a starter motor go on a Mondeo TDCI and inturn it damaged the Dual Mass Flywheel which they agreed to pay out on. Its definately worth considering, IIRC it would cost £130 or 12 per month Direct Debit.
  16. Tell me about it! The ironic thing is when we were younger my family had old slower cars and the roads were clear, now we have faster cars but the roads are more congested so it takes the same time to cross London!
  17. Did some call me :D I was indeed lucky enough to have sourced an interior for one and (recently) it almost got sold and shipped to the USA, I will be selling the interior off at some point as i will be converting my G60 to standard and selling it on. I have all the bits except Dash and Carpet. If anyone wants a spare campaign interior just incase......let me know!
  18. LOL i still think it was alright for the time it came out, i mean it was about 1985 and there wasn't many things in the same class that were better, i think it dated pretty quick though. Just looking at the amount of traffic in London, looks empty by todays standard!
  19. Hi Steve Who did the work was it a garage or done by an individual? I would have thought that year mondeo would have had the cartridge type filter but it could be the metal type, it sounds like it wasn't tightened properly or seal wasnt put on and worked itself loose as excess pressure would have been evident in other gaskets and weak points in the engine. Did the oil pressure light come on? The next thing to do is put oil in the car and a new filter and see the state of play if its knocking then it definately needs to be repaired/replaced. The most economical thing would be to strip the bottom end and see whether you can replace parts like oil bearing and shells other wise it may well need a new engine i would guess they would come in at about 1500 upwards. AA do a parts and labour warranty with their breakdown cover where you can claim up to £500 towards repairs, it may be worth asking him if he has that cover. Hope this helps
  20. I was hoping for some rain, didnt happen. Then i thought maybe one or two cars would slip on the oil that came out of the Force India, didnt happen either. Would rather have Alonso out than Massa anyday. Oh well not long to go now.
  21. I think that sums Vettel up more than Hamilton. What were the chances of the petrol tanks exploding on that lotus, i thought any second now it'll go BOOM!
  22. I think its Webbers time to take the Championship and i'd like to see him win after Hamilton of course, LOL that would be quality! Jensons abit of a sneaky one, he likes to win with strategies and that sneaky little stunt he pulled in Turkey. I dont think he's all that either.
  23. NOOOOOOOOO im so pissed what was Hamilton doing another DNF :confused4: Would've liked to see Vettel have a pop at Alonso, oh well maybe next time.
  24. I think the best way would be a good mop using 3m/farecla cutting compound, i turned a pink corrado red using ths method. My neighbour has a 1993 mk3 golf in red he's owned from new, most of the car is still as red as it was when it was new apart from a door and rear quarter panel which had been repainted by the dealer, that area faded to pink pretty much straight away. That tells me the quality of the factory paint must have been much better quality than what bodyshops use.
