gonzo started following How to identify dead top mounts., 1/4 tank issue - help please, noisy fuel pump ? and and 7 others
-
anyone else have this problem, especially when pushing the right pedal hard in 5th,feels like it has rubber shocks
-
2l 16v does the same, had an old golf that did the same, maybe crap in the fuel tank, rust ect, but recently my fuel pump has been getting a little noisy fickle little thinks these corrado's
-
is my fuel pump on its way out ? has a little splutter now and again.
-
bearing seem fine.no play there. have not had the car that long, would crap tyres with weak side wall be the problem?going to check all the pressures now. how are those Eibach arb's?, i think a pair of them are going to be my next upgrade
-
do dead top mounts give a lot of sideways wobble to the cars ride
-
any ideas. my corrado has a lot of sideways wobble at high speed, and you can push the car sideways when it is parked and it has a little wobble like a plate of jelly, the car is very stiff on the up and down movement, nothing sounds loose, i have a set of AVO coilovers, do these may be need a service?, anti roll bars? cheap tyres? any help would be appreciated
-
funny old things these corrados, mine has just started to run fine again.
-
try a bottle of stp injector cleaner. mine started to do the same. have it booked in next week to change distributor, dizzy cap and rotor arm, coil, plugs, leads, cam belt, and maybe lambda sensor in exhaust. hopefully that will fix it.
-
as soon as i get mine fixed i am off to DG for a tune up and maybe a remap, how much do they charge for remapping?. has anyone got a stainless manifold, if so where how much and how good, has anyone used the stp injector cleaner solution?
-
what model corrado is it
-
yeah have done the same on other cars I've had in the past just listen to the tune of the engine, have got mine booked in at a garage next week, new distributor, dizzy cap, rotor arm,ht leads, plugs, cam belt, gearbox and engine oil change and a little tune up, hopefully that will sort it, if not, at least i have narrowed the search down a bit lol. still looking for a manifold, might have to go stainless later in the year, if i cannot find one. maybe a respray and remap next year. will keep you posted. cheers guys

rotor arm looks fine, it is on the engine side of the dizzy, if you unbolt from engine there is a metal disc that spins round next to the sensor
-
2l 16v k reg met blue, avo coilovers, rip speed rims, power flow exhaust, and lots of little problem to sort..

ok here we go, started fine ran ok for about 5 mins then started to do the same, took dizzy off and it looks as if previous owner whacked it with a hammer on the soft metal thing that spins round on the inside. why would it run ok for a bit then start playing up ?

cheers guys, thought everyone had gone on holiday. it has been in work shop for a couple of days now, drying out, going to swap plugs and leads around today, see if the problem is there, have already sprayed most of the connectors, will order a coil today if no progress, or should i order a distributor? if spark is going to two plugs it would seem coil is sending spark to dizzy and dizzy not distributing it correctly?? will keep you posted
