  1. Don't think it's that mate time of year doesn't help also just because a thread hasn't had any replies does not mean there hasn't been interest in the car.

Yeh thats a fair point actually. I hope thats why.

And yeh I realise that but I bet I'm not the only one who hasn't even had messages about it.

    Ah well, :)

    Cheers

  2. So I'm selling my corrado, its the whole family car needed thing, and at first i thought it was just me but then I looked at the rest of the for sale section and there's loads that don't appear to have any interest.

I thought corrados sold well, I know I snapped mine up as soon as I saw it and I'd waited ages for one to be available. But Ive not had one offer.

What happened? Are corrados just not cool anymore?

  3. 2.0 8v | Blue | Corsham, Wiltshire

    Price: £1000

    Description:

    2.0 8v | Blue | Corsham, Wiltshire

    Price: £1000ono

    Description:

It's time for a car with more doors and room in the back, not to mention... yes.... diesel... am I getting old at the age of 27? *sigh*

So with that, I need to pass the corrado on. Now it's currently not 100%, the guy I got it off has been very honest from the day I bought it off him right up until now if I ever need his advice so I feel it my

duty to be just as honest.

I found a new oil leak last week, its coming from the top of the engine so thats good, This will be fixed before I sell it. Also the bloody side trim off the passenger door just came off like yesterday so i'll

stick that back on too... same happened to the drivers side a few months back so im well practiced :p

The ABS... oh my god the ABS. It didnt work when I got it, and I didnt bother with it until MOT. After a load of ****ing about we found that nearly all the wires from the ABS unit were burnt through and a

sensor had gone and a relay was dead. New relay went in, my mate who is a master tech and does all my work, wires it all back up again and fixed it. The wrong fuse was in there so it might have

been that. it's been fine and fully functional since then.

The rest of the car is fine really, the spoiler works properly as does all the other electrics.

I average about 40mpg on the motorway at a steady 70 and 35mpg in general everywhere else.

About 176k miles on the clock... not that you'd notice though, its really smooth and pulls nicely.

    DETAILS:

Its on adjustable coilovers, it's pretty low but not so low that you can't get over speed bumps and such. In my opinion it's the perfect height.

It'll come with ATS cups in fair condition, no missing center caps and I have spares just in case, the tyres have plenty of tread on them too.

The exhaust is full strainless, not too loud, only really speaks up when you floor it, pretty quiet otherwise.

    Recently had a new clutch.

First thing I did when I got it was have a toad alarm and immobilizer installed.

The rear wiper was removed before I had it.

It came with delocked handles from a passat... That annoyed me cause they went wrong loads so I put standard ones on again, I retumbled barrels for them so the locks match, the drivers side works as it should but it's missing one part for the passenger side to work, the barrel obviously

doesnt come out though without the key and its remote central locking so... well, who would ever use the passenger lock anyway :p I have the other parts ready if you really wanted to finish putting the inside together.

Anything bad I've mentioned will be sorted before I sell it, new car gets collected tomorrow then the corrado gets fixed up ready for sale.

Now the few bad points that WILL come with the car.

    1. Theres some rust on the front arches where mudflaps used to live, its not tragic but will probably want replacing one day.

    2. A little bit of rust on that strip of metal just below the grill. pretty slight.

    3. The drivers side exterior window trim has split a bit and rides up when the window goes up, it doesnt effect anything other than an annoyance but is easily replaceable.

If I've missed anything out please ask :) PM me, post here or just phone or text 07818518147

I don't have any pics of the inside at the mo can I can get some if requested. It's as you'd expect though, black cloth, no holes anywhere, tidy.

  4. Bought new wheels, need to shift the standard ones, 5 stud vw alloys, standard, decent condition, Pics are from straight off the car so a bit of travel dirt from the lanes, they clean up nice! center caps all intact. Tyres have loads of tread.

Any questions, please ask. I'm located in Corsham, Wiltshire (near bath)

    Price.. I dunno, £80?

  5. Hey, so i replaced my rear passat handles for normal ones but they had no barrels or anything that attaches to them so ive been collecting bits.

So far I have the barrels which I've retumbled, and I've been sent various bits. A picture of what I have so far, attached.

Can anyone tell me exactly what I'm missing? Better yet, how it all assembles once I have everything I need.. :/ I've never had normal corrado handles cause My corrado came with the passat ones.

  6. Not a problem, So far ive got some bits for free and the rest for cheap so its all good, current spend is only a tenner.

I'll take that barrel off you for sure, don't worry about the key :)

As for the tumblers, that's perfect! Works for me!

    Paypal ok?

Sorry I didn't look for the parts when I said I would on your other thread, I'm almost sure I have one, let me check.

Yes got one with a key inserted. £5 posted.

---------- Post added at 2:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:42 PM ----------

I've also got some tumblers I can send you but would you post back what you don't use as I want them for spares?

  7. To clarify, to remove the barrel from the handle you first take off these four parts:

    locks5.jpg

I've sent you the middle two along with the lock barrel. I found the leftmost piece in my door the other day but may have thrown it away as I didn't recognise it at the time...

    Stone

Ah ok, thanks! its good to be able to see what I need!

To clarify to others I now need all 4 of those parts for the passenger side and all but the middle two for the drivers side as well as one more barrel.

Also if any one has some tumbler bits. I need to retumble the barrels when I get them.

  8. Hello bud, sorry this is looking more difficult than we thought to sort out!

Heres the info about how to tumble the locks, and also a thread about where to get spares.. dave16v had some according to that link, perhaps he'll advise on here if he still might?

    Wiki article

    Thread about parts

If you're signed into vagcat theres an etka link on there, it shows all the parts needed but also lists a repair kit?

    http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1995/76/56/848348/

Nice one dude, I'll get there eventually :p

  9. Can you let me know which parts you are now missing. Cheers

    I think I now need:

Passenger side: barrel, c-clip, spring and the main metal part that rotates with the barrel, also stone mentioned to me that there may be some metal plate too that I didnt know was there.

Drivers side: c-clip and the metal plate

I've never had full original corrado handles so I'm not familiar with the parts, so this is all a bit of a puzzle for me bu tI', being as accurate as I can be.

  10. I've definitely got a barrel you can have for nowt - removed and reused the one from my broken handle so it's just been sitting around. May have some of the other bits if I haven't emptied the bin recently! I'll have a look for you.

Be aware there's a wrong way of attaching the C-clip - if you have the centre of the clip pointed towards the front of the car, then it can work loose with only a couple of turns of the key. Mine escaped with a comedy clunk-rattle-rattle just as I had finished getting the door card back on and shut the door to admire my handiwork  It's a right pain digging the bits out of the door (especially the spring, it's tiny and can get hooked up on the window mech so you have to root around for it) and quite upsetting when you've just spent ages lining the door card up just right...if the centre's pointing towards the back of the car then even if it works loose it can't ping off. Might save you some cursing :)

---------- Post added at 1:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 1:19 AM ----------

Update: I've found the spring and C-shaped bit that activates the locking arm for the driver's side. No c-clip but they're standard bits :) PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post.

Legend! well that's a start :D and thanks for the tips, il make sure I put it on the right way :p PM on the way.

  11. Some parts on the driver handle will be opposite hand on the pass handle. One won't fit the other.

I see, well I need both sides ultimately but anything would be a start :)

  12. I've got some of those parts but be aware that some of the parts are handed. Are you doing both handles?

Sorry, what do you mean by handed?

And yeh, both handles need barrels and everything that attaches to them inside.

  13. Just put standard door handles back on my corrado, unfortunately the handles I bought didn't come with barrels for me to re-tumble or the spring, C-clip and metal thing that goes on the end, I don't know the technical term for them but basically I'm missing all the bits that attach to the barrels as well as the barrels themselves.

anyway, anyone got some? I don't want to have a hole in my door handles for tooo long, I managed to pop the door open with a well placed spanner so I don't want anyone else working that out
