Tried all the simple things (beeing very simple myself :D ) Had a new rad, new hoses expansion tank and cap, thermostat, both temp sensors and the switch in the rad, fan works fine kicks in both speeds. My last job I will attempt is the water pump then if all fails the head gets pressure tested although compresion was good, my car must have the newest cooling system about, bets the big end goes as soon it's fixed.

someone with the same problem as me :) (sorry)mine has had every thing changed so far (and I mean everything expansion tank, cap x2 fan switch x2.....) other than the water pump and head, had a compression test and all was well so it's the water pump next, the walk through changing it would also be very helpfull. Mine has been sat in the garage so long I took it for an MoT and most of the bushes had perished and split !! :(

dosn't water boil at a higher temp when under pressure? The2 speed fan switch in the rad kicks in the top speed at 110 (I think)

I bought one from Makro couple of weeks ago for £14 plus vat, it's been doing it's job fine :)

thanks, e-mailing the company to ask, it's a sony head and has a saving of about £80 so I have to weighup wether or not radio is worth it. Thanks for the help James.

Any reason why a US Sony head unit wouldn't work in a UK Corrado? Found the head I want cheaper in the US inc shpping than in the Uk, thanks James.

Your's a G60? had mine of the road for months just couldn't find the problem :mad: changed the cap, thermo swithch, checked the head etc. just can't cure it totaly. Do the water pipes become rock solid with the pressure? more so than just the system under normall pressure?

Yeh, also new fan switch some new pipes, flushed the system, back flushed it, compression tests, gets better when I change something the goes back :?

:( bit much for a one off. I'm in the Cardiff area, changed allsorts in the cooling system but it still boils, not straight away some times, done the obviouse checks, head, leaks, fan etc etc. one thing I have notices is that the pipes are really pumped up, not just the normal pressure, and it will spit the water out when it does boil more so when you floor the acelarator. Has any one used the pressure tester for the cooling system, I have an ongoing problem (not been running properly for well over 18 months :( ) and would like to use this tester that clips on to the expansion cap, I'm guessing it's a main dealer part but any one know how much it's likely to be , can get down there untill Sat. Thanks James.

It will only get worse :( may as well bit the bulit, however make sure they do a better job than they did on mine, left the sealer on the inside messy, had to trim it back myself.
