What the hell is it with people on there! I have a set of schmidt 3pc ml's for sale, I have them up for £680 including nearly new falken ziex 192's They look like this at the mo there is a few marks on the rims from being kerbed and 2 have dents in that need welding and smoothing off 1st damaged dish 2nd damaged dish I get a lad message me age ago asking all the common questions all kean etc then nothing back! 2 weeks later he Pm's me again asking all the questions again! oh whats the price! So give him it all again and his reply "Hi mate, spoke to the polisher, he said he can have a go but in all honesty new dishes would be better. There 8j 1.5" dish and 9j 2" dish with et15 all round? The refurb is no worries as I will do everything myself. £500 is your best?" My reply was "£500 is my best, I spoke to Mike and he said "hi to powder coat the the baskets black would be £30.00 each powder coat the centre weave £30.00 each powder coat the dishes £30.00 each sort the dishes welding and straighten will be £40 per dish. cheers mike" And that was after him seeing the pics of the 2 damaged dishes the damage is not that bad, you can see it in the pics in the thread 1 is smaller than a 2 pence piece" To top it of the little scrot bag sends me this! "To be honest i dont want to buy them and then they need 2 new dishes which will be around £150 per dish. I know they are worth a lot but, a used set which need refurbing, rebuilding and repairing will be a lot less." Time wasting little arse bandit! Sorry rant over!

I looked at machine mart but the cheapest compressor is £200 plus :(
-
That's the sort of thing I want to use small grinders etc instead of a dermal multi and 4.5 inch grinder
-
Not revolution bud I bought my main kit from them but I bought the 2 oil cooler ones from merlin motorsport ;) I am going to change my water pump when I do the hoses Thought it might be a good idea to buy new bolts just in case
-
Jim are you going VW to get the bolts for the water pump? How did you get on with the oil cooler hoses?
-
I am looking into buying a compressor for home to use for trying to attack the rust on my mk3! Was going to buy a 4.5inch 240v grinder and wire wheels etc but a compressor and bits will be easier to work with and i can use it for other stuff :) I was looking at something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wolf-Air-Sioux-50-Litre-2-5HP-9-5CFM-116PSI-Air-Compressor-13pc-Spray-Kit-/280914461312?pt=UK_Air_Tools_and_Compressors&hash=item4167ce8280

BBS RS 301 17” VW specific wheels. 17x7.5 ET 33 PCD 5x100 Manufactured in 1992 these late production 3 piece BBS RS alloy wheels were available in limited numbers to fit directly onto VW vehicles with the 5x100 PCD fitment. Unusually these wheels are in their original factory finish with lacquered dishes and with very little use are as close to NOS as you would ever hope to find. To find a better set in stock condition you would have to find a box fresh set that have yet to have tyres fitted. As these come fitted with matching virtually as new Dunlop Sport SP9000 205/40R17 tyres (in excess of £400 inc fitting and balancing) the dilemma of whether to fit tyres to unused wheels is now no longer an issue, the wheels can be used and enjoyed. They come complete with stainless steel valves and the BBS centre bolt spanner. The condition of the wheels and tyres is superb, there is however some minor lacquer corrosion of the very outer edge of one wheel lip on the inner side close to the tyre bead where the lacquer has been compromised by either stone chip damage from the road surface or tyre fitment. This would be very straight forward to carry out a spot repair (wet and dry and re-lacquering) to restore the wheel to its original high standard. These wheels were incredibly difficult to find in this condition and I recognise that once sold I will never be able to source another set, but as I have now sold my car I feel I can now offer this set of 4 wheels for sale. £2500 Collection preferred. Also offered for sale is my collection of caps, badges and lattices and BBS 3 spoke steering wheel. The centre caps are the Genuine BBS obsolete NOS Japanese market half height caps in as new factory lacquered finish (fit BBS RS from 15” to 17”, may fit other buyer to confirm). Bought brand new direct from BBS in Germany and used on wheel for display purposes only. The lattice are genuine NOS direct from BBS in Germany and have not been fitted to a wheel. The badges are all genuine BBS and come as a set of four, there are the rare and desirable Red and Gold, Black and Gold and the Carbon fibre effect. There are 2 sets of 4 centre caps and matching lattice offered at £275 per set Red and Gold badges £100 Black and Gold badges £80 Carbon fibre effect badges £50 I would ideally like to sell the wheels first to allow the buyer the option of acquiring the parts but will be open to discussion The steering wheel is a full leather 3 spoke BBS steering wheel, with gold effect BBS horn push together with momo boss to fit Corrado/MK2 Golf etc. Excellent condition £200

The chains are ok, it's just the pad in one of the tensioners has split, I had visual inspection when re doing the timing I think I will find more rot on the floor pan
-
I am really starting to hate the car! I loved it because it has the schrick and schimmel cams! I know the chain guides need doing on it and little bits of rust are coming through around the rear lights a little marks! I just dont know what to do, I am not the best person for dealing with stress i just flip or get rid of it I fell like i have let myself down by buying it and letting my partner down :(
-
Adrian you talk sense, I just can't rip some one off by hiding the sills To break would be the best way to get my money back but no one wants to pay what your asking :( I have my Schmidt ml's for sale and people want to offer £200 less than my asking price They are up for £680 with tyres on edition and people say oh will give you £500 max!
-
It's cool Adrian, I think if I re do the chassis properly then I might as well do other things and it turns into a money pit I should be saving for my new house and moving forward not spending on a money pit :(
-
I am trying to sell my schmidt ml splits to pay for the work to be done, i dont want to sell the schrick because they are rare enough and its the reason i bought the car
-
i am to honest mate, i couldnt do it to some one Part of me thinks just get it fixed but where do you draw the line! (The car has some bits on it that are worth money but no one is buying things because money is tight etc ---------- Post added at 10:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:30 PM ---------- I could easily afford to fix it but puts my house move even futher away! My mate said it would take 2 weekends to repair that sill and fill the floor damage and i need to pay him for his time because he runs his welding company
-
---------- Post added at 10:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:11 PM ---------- the drivers side sill is damaged back 2ft! and there is a hole by the end of the door! this is hiding under the gti plastic sills the floor has been jacked up and damaged! I am so fed up! i am trying to save to buy a new house because i hate where we live! I just want the ground to swallow me up because i have to break the news to my mrs that i have just wasted another thousand pounds of my money that should of gone on my savings to move ---------- Post added at 10:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:15 PM ---------- The brakes caused me a massive isse and i spent out £250 fixing them! then the rad hoses split so i spent £300 buying new hoses etc to replace all them :( I feel like i am to far into back out! Do i break the car and walk away? or just go further into the heap and find more wrongs! ---------- Post added at 10:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:18 PM ---------- The passenger side is kind of saveable, but the drivers side needs a whole new outer seal and the inner needs a full repair! My mate is a welder and said he can save it but says there is a lot of work to repair it

Guys I need to vent/ask for some advice I stupidly sold my corrado for silly money because it had some issues that were stressing me out, so I got rid! I then went and bought a mk3 golf gti that had been converted by stealth to a vr6 using a 2.9 odb1 The car has tons of receipts from stealth , g werks etc The car has schimmel cams, schrick, hi spec 4 pots, wietec coilovers, front and rear arbs, front and rear strut braces, colour concept interior well it turns out a car with so much info and money spent on it and its still a bloody lemon! its worse than my rado! I sold a recon 2.9 and bits to fix the car to buy a bloody heap! :( The golf has rotting sills that have been bodged! and holes in the floor :(
