Fan runs during and after engine. And the pump definitely runs because I can hear it whining (loudly).

Another item I will add to the list then. Great.

Started the car again tonight before I get the bits ordered and have a look again. The loud whiring noise is definitely coming from the auxiliary water pump. Would a faulty pump effect starting when warm?

Turns out I am missing the inner panel retainer clips. All that is left are springs on either side. Can these be replaced?

My 93 vr6 sun roof interior panel drops down so the sunroof doesn't look open from the inside when it's in the tilt/up position. Can this be easily fixed? If so how? Can't see how to take it apart and there is no obvious damage or broke parts when I look from the outside in.

Whiring sound is coming from engine bay and my mates suggested it sounded like a dolphin being murdered.

I have had my car off the road for a whole year whilst paying for wedding. Trying to get it running again.

Before I SORN the car last year it's had a starting problem that has gradually got worse.

It starts 1st time when the car is cold, ticks over nicely, if I shut it off once it's warm it won't start again. It doesn't try to start or crank over, but it does make a loud squeeky/whiring sound even when the dash lights are on but not cranking.

It's had a new starter and the battery and alternator are good.

My 1st thoughts were to just get it to a garage, but is there anything simple I'm missing?

All suggestions welcome before I get charged a fortune to fault find and run diagnostic checks on VAGCOM, or worse begin replacing parts aimlessly hoping to fix this and get her back on the road.

i have central locking issues. it seems to work fine for a bit then will stop working for ages making it a pain to fill up with fuel let alone get in and out.:shrug: drivers door always unlocks but the fuel filler and passenger side play up.

it has had a replacement passenger handle at some point in the past as i have another key for that door. if that makes any differnce.:scratch:

surely if it was a leak or a central locking vacuum pump it just would stop working completely?!?.....

any how any ideas of where to start as i am relatively new to the forum and the world of the Corrado

first few pics of my pearl metallic green corrado VR6. owned it since July 2011:thumbleft:.

has got uprated head light loom, lowered 45mm, BBS RXii 16inch wheels, standard speedlines, lupo gti wiper upgrade, some ecu chip:scratch:???, a cheap induction kit.

plans are to fix the few faults: tilt function on sunroof head liner is hanging down on sun roof panel, fix audio scape door pockets, fix spot of rust on bonnet and under rear window trim, sort central looking fault, fix exhaust knocking noise (exhaust hanger?:scratch:).

Then replace lowering (-45mm) shocks n springs with adjustable coilovers, 90mm chin spoiler, paint up speedlines black ish, refurb BBS RXii, BMC CDA induction kit, miltek exhaust system. momo team 300mm steering wheel.
