Thanks guys for the kind words, you are all so right when you say it really is a privilege for petrol heads to get to drive a Rado, I loved every minute of owning it and even though it was a money pit, I knew once I had pumped money into it I could drive it again! Such a pleasure to listen to the burble of that V6 every day. The fact that I sold it within two days says it all about how great a car VW gave us, and if it hadn't sold so quickly I might have hesitated more but such is life. Moving on to the dark side and down the autobahn to another german marque. Looking at an e92 BMW 3 series. Been out for a test drive in a 335i and 330d, but think I'll plug for a 330i. I hope I'll be back though to a Rado someday. Good luck fellas, I am feeling such pangs of jealousy!

Hi guys I know this is the wrong section but couldn't think where else to post. With a heavy heart I sold my VR6 on Thursday after a year of fantastic expensive automotive pleasure. Personal circumstances and the lack of a bottomless pit of money meant I had to cut my losses and move back to modern machinery. Without doubt the best car I've owned, that turned my head every time I walked past it, never again will cars like this be made. I've fulfilled a lifetime dream owning one and wanted to thank everyone on the forum for all your help with my various problems over the past year, you are a genuine petrol heads and I have loved using and reading this forum, it has been a great source of inspiration and knowledge. Ben

Hi are the interior door handles fitted with the electric window controls on driver side? Cheers
-
Hi, as it says above I need a vr6 gearbox, manual and the casing as well. Need it to be fully functioning with no leaks etc. I will pay for courier service if needed as I am in northern Ireland. Cheers.
-
Hi, do you still have the gearbox? I urgently need a gearbox for my motor, is the casing fully intact, no leaks or anything? I am in Northern Ireland unfortunately but I am willing to pay you a deposit right now to hold it for me, or full payment right now and I will arrange a courier to collect and transport it for me? Cheers

The main issue the rozzers have with plates that have a font which doesnt conform with the UK sizing as per MOT regulations blah blah is that any font different in sizing isn't recognised by their Auto number plates recognition cameras.

Thanks for the reply I will have a look and see if I can work it out.

Are the grab handles still available? -
Hi, hopefully in the right section with this. Lately I have noticed that at nighttime when I turn my engine off but haven't turned the lights off first, the engine keeps running even with no key in the ignition. Once I turn the lights off the engine goes off. Seems very odd but wondering if anyone has come across this or knows why it might happen? Cheers.

Don't have one for sale but found this on a site recommended to me by one of the guys on the forum. Might not be perfect match but looks good to me. http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p1914_VR6-Chrome-Badge.html

Ah top tip thanks for that much appreciated I will give the back to black a blast. How on earth did you ever find out about peanut butter??
-
Oh yeah it is going back on I only want to take it off to spray it as its quite faded.
-
Best bet most likely yes?

Cheers Pete I'll look at that too, I've heard they are a bit ropey.

No allen key present, three are the standard hex bolts but these two are different. I will persevere. ---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ---------- Yeah I know what you mean but not these definitely were manufactured this shape, both are identical and don't show signs of having been rounded etc.

Ok here goes, the long-term project!!!

Looks like a really lovely example Dougie, really tidy and original, hard to find, hope you enjoy it. -

I want to take off the black plastic trim around the bottom of my front bumper, I think its called a splitter but I'm probably wrong. Either way I've been under the car with my socket set only to find that two of the bolts are shaped like daisy heads, ie rounded edges that the socket just slips on. Never seen a fitting like this before, any thoughts? Does the forum run a competition for most stupid questions asked?? I must be in the running to win lol. Cheers

Ok another question which I am sure has been asked but I cannot find it on the search facility. The bulb around the cigarette lighter is flickering and the lighter itself doesn't work, how the hell do I get it out, I've taken the ashtray out to try and get in round the back but I am worried that I'll break something if I use to much force. Thanks

Mesrine Part 2 (French action thriller). 8/10.

That worked out really well for you, having just read that scenario it could have turned out a lot worse for you, definitely a strong likelihood of police seeking a prosecution against you, even though she was initially at fault. Glad you got sorted out.

OK I have finally got time to try these points and here goes with the answers. 1. No idea if it has done this since I got the car, one bulb was fused and the other one just flickered as if it was about to die. Couldn't say if it was always on though. All I have done was the the bracket off and change the bulbs. Have not touched the wiring. 2. The headlight switch is illuminated orange when the ignition is on, it is not lit when ignition is off. If I put the lights to side beam the switch goes green then orange with full lights. 3. Front and rear fog lights switch only illuminated when ignition is on. No rings unless I actually turn the fogs on. 4 & 5. Nothing happens when removing either of the two fuses. I did notice that the number plate lights are considerably dimmer when the lights ARE NOT on, and obviously brighten when the lights are turned on. Hope I've explained things, thanks for the help

I've just fitted the pressed plates to mine last weekend and fitted the Autohaus number plate surround so I can easily change to legal plates, but I was able to get the plate holder to fit the front bumper without too much hassle, just drilled two tiny holes and fixed the plate holder to the body work.
