Hello, I need to fit a new inner track rod to right hand side on my VR6, the rods bent (pretty sure my mechanic did it whilst changing wisbone, but the track rod end is seized on so can't do alignment and was an advisory on mot anyway that inner worn. Got track rod, end and boot. Thought would be nice easy job, though never actually done on this or any car. My old Golf GTi Haynes says got to remove whole steering rack then take off, on power steering, is this really necessary. Danger of damaging rack and pinion? Seems massive hassle, was hoping just to undo locknut and screw out? Anybody done it. Should I just get my mechanic to do it, don't want to damage the rack.

Hello, Got a 94 24v VR6. Car started idling too low and rough so cleaned ISV with Car Cleaner but really worked too well and started ticking over at 1250 rpm. Lubricated the ISV with WD40 on someones advise and at same time disconnected battery for a while to reste ECU, again on someones advice, now worse than before started cutting out on idle when warm, and just tickijng over when cold. Apart from idle running fine, was Vagcom checked bout a month ago and everything fine, pretty new engine. The carbon canister is disconnected but still on car, runs much better without, and was smelling of petrol before disconnected a bit. The valve and sensor are still connected and the pipe to the throttle body capped. I's also like to remove the PCV never like the idea of oily air going in and pipes leading to and from PCV look like they'll always give probs. Can you do this and what do you do with sensors of do? Any ideas on ISV should I just clean again and not lubricate this time? Can I remove PCV and just add breather filter and cap to intake or is this asking for trouble? Appreciate any help, only had Corrado 6 months or so, love it but bit of a novice with it mecahnically, had old Fords as fun cars before this, lot simpler.

Hello, my passenger seat is like new but the drivers one is worn on bolster etc. which I imagine is normal, on my Corrado VR6 94. On my Capri which has leather Recaros I just swapped them over as they are identical, runners and everything, just endd up with recliner wheel on inside which is'nt major prob. The Corrado's obviously are'nt uniform, is it possible to swap them if you change runners, and seatbelt holder catch? I'd look for other seats of an Audi TT or similar maybe, look nicer on modern Audi's but what would fit bearing in mind I have the Corrado seat on it's lowest height setting, cfor a nice driving position, ould imagine other seats sitting too high. Thanks

Hello, got a 94 Corrado VR6, L reg., and loving it. Had fuse box out, or loose at least fitting an immobiliser, and theres about 4 or 5 VW connectors not connected, look like go into the line of single connectors on right hand side at back, looking from front, left hand side if looked from back, it's on the fuel pump relay side, behind it. There's only one lead connected, a red and yellow wire. Anybody know what they are, should I reconnect them, in what order. The only thing that's not working is the reversing lights, ABS fine, sunroof, everything, so bit of a puzzler as to what they are. The light that illuminates the rev counter has now went off, but was fine would imagine I've just loosened a connection or popped bulb when was messing about with fuse box but the other connections look like never been connected. My electrics experience is limited to my Capri 2.8 injection so this is like the electircs on an Exocet in comparison so all advice appreciated. Checked other threads but can't find this single batch of single connectors anywhere, it's not a multi plug, Thanks

It,s always gonna be nose heavy but well worth it for that engine, a truly great v6, and that noise, thought bout some of the Audi turbo,d 4 cylinder ones but glad did,nt, if upgrade further will be for r32 engine. How stiff do I want back, i,d have thought very stiff on fwd to stop it tramping and losing traction on front, rear softer than front which is rock hard, probs 0.5 to 1 inch movement, think all bushes been renewed when koni,s fitted, not long ago, hav,nt looked closely enough yet to see if poly,s

Hello, just recently bought a Corrado VR6, very impressed, lovely car, mint condition in white. It's got 17" RS4 alloys with 205 40 17 tyres, Yokohamas on front, something I've never heard of on back, and got Pretty new looking Koni shocks and springs all round, not adjustable, not coilovers, lowered, and stiffened, don't think it wants to go much lower, not sure how much stiffer as don't have a standard Corradio to compare with. Though handling is excellent would like to sharpen up a bit, try to overcome Audi/VW habit of always putting engine far too far forward which results in too much understeer on limit. What would be next thing to try? Are there recognised suspension upgrades that work well?. I've just ordered a front upper strut brace. The front is rock hard can barely move it, the rear is stiff but I would say could maybe do with being a bit stiffer. All bushes fine, but not sure if been upgraded or not. Does Corrado have front lower brace, rear anti-roll bar, (feels like has) hav'nt had chance to get underneath yet. My experience is all rear wheel drive so bit of a novice here I'm afraid.

Hello just bought very nice VR6, loving it, was always an old Ford man for my fun cars, but deffo. a convert, even selling my 3.1 Stage 3 Mint Capri, as never used it since got Corrado, 49530 What's the valve that goes from the air box to the the intake tube, on the Capri I'd say it was PCV valve, the rubbers split bodged it up but needs new one, only thing car needs after just fitted new front calipers and pads (car had'nt been used much bit sticky, got new mk4 golf ones on back) but not sure what to ask for, where would I get one, VW Dealers? Cars mint, tried to attach pics but does#nt seems to want to work, it;s white with RS4 17 Alloys, and Yokohama's, and put a Simota Racing Filter on it, which is why I split the pipe to be honest, had to make an extra aluminum bracket to keep it nice and solid and stable, fine now
