Yuck, scotchloks are awful fitted anywhere, but under bonnet is a very very bad idea as water can get into the wire and corrode it! Since I wrote the updated wiring loom article I have seen a few bad wiring jobs & relays & connections with corrosion. If I were to rewrite the instructions I would suggest using solder & heat shrink or quality insulation tape, water proof relays and boxes to put them in. In my cars I have been using the Phillips 100% brighter bulbs with original wiring and found this to be a huge improvement :-)

Hi, I started selling these as I think they are a great idea. I bought & fitted 2 Blacvue DR300g cameras, one in my fathers car and 1 in mine. All ok for a month or 2 and then micro SD cards started failing. Reformatting worked a few times, but in the end new cards were required. And then 1 week before warranty ran out, both units failed completely! Replaced under warranty and then sold on eBay. I have since started supplying & fitting Roadhawk cameras. Better quality camera and a UK company as well :-) I have 4 of these fitted in family motors all working like clockwork. More info on these can be found on my website http://www.trim-wizard.co.uk If there is enough interest I could sort a group buy out for you, but I will leave this to you guys to organise. I don't come on the forums often, so best to email me [email protected] Cheers Andy

Ok, don't come on here often as like to keep opinions from happy customers independent. Cobra 4138 alarms come programmed as standard to close the windows & roof only while the button is held down like modern VW's. I believe this is due to children losing fingers in windows! So, due to liability issues I also fit my alarms this way. It is nothing to do with being lazy as it is exactly the same wire. As for reusing the Conlog wiring, this is the only make of alarm that I will reuse the wiring from as it a VW loom with VW factory plugs fitted that go directly into the fuse box. It doesn't get much better than this from my point of view as it means I don't have to disturb the fuse box as much. There are other features on the alarm that don't get wired up, speed pulse, pager, extra door wire inputs. These are not required for a cat 1 install on a Corrado. Any queries please email me as I won't come back on the forum for another year or 2 :-) [email protected] Cheers Andy

Is my Satin Silver VR6 still arround?

That is how I parted company with AVC as I was rang up out of the blue with an offer to good to refuse. I had just sorted out a daily driver and put AVC on a classic limited milage policy as well! -

We should start the AVC fan club :) When I first saw L363 AVC on the Autotek forcourt I knew it was for me as AVC stood for Andy's V6 Corrado  Andy -

I am SOOOOO pleased that my VR6 lives on and, by the sounds of it, in the right hands. Let me know with regards to alarm and locking issues as I am sure we can sort something out. Probably best that we talk via e-mail or phone with regards to alarm issues as we do not want everyone knowing what your VR6 has protecting it! Both my e-mail & phone number are on my web site www.trim-wizard.co.uk Andy -

Nice mods, simple and subtle, just how I like them. The Miltek exhaust, clear repeaters and alarm I fitted. Good to know that 6 plus years on they are still working. I always liked the idea of doing the VSR manifold. Does it work well? And you mention that the engine was replaced. Did the orginal expire? If so, how many miles did it do? Think I sold it at just under 100,000 miles and it was running sweet then and burnt hardly any oil. Nice wheels, look good and suit the car well. -

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable  Sure we can sort out my loveley VR6. Where are you based? And I will of course need to be taken out for a spin. What have you modified? -
Hi I am a long lost Corrado VR6 owner that due to expanding family had to sell his beloved C back in 2003 :( Does anyone know of it's where abouts and if it is still winning prizes? Reg No was L363 AVC, 1993 Satin Silver VR6. When I sold it it was very standard and very tidy. Cheers Andy (AKA Trim WIzard)
