I know there is quite a large group of Cs around the Camberley area, so I was wondering where you all get your servicing done ? I tried RT Holder in Reading and although he appeared quite good the first few times I went, it's a bit of a trek and the last time I took my C in, he changed the oil but said he couldn't get the filter off !! That hasn't filled me with confidence. I'm a bit reluctant to take my C to Whites as I can already hear the intake of breath !

Not being funny Louie, because I feel for you, but imagine what life would be like on a bike - sue the b@sta@rds.

I know there is an unusually high collection of C owners around Camberley but do any of you have VAG COM ? I have replaced a couple of parts and need the system resetting. I could go to VW but would much rather buy a fellow C owner a beer and get the job done. Any takers ?

Recently my battery is going flat in a couple of days. I bought a new battery back in November and so that shouldn't be the problem. The alternator is charging nicely and I've had the alarm checked. The alarm guy said that it was the central locking that was draining the battery. If I use the alarm to lock the doors, the battery is flat in the morning but if I lock the doors with the key and then set the alarm it is better. Well it was, now if I use said method, the battery still dies. The alarm guy reckoned it was the central locking relay that was at fault. Do I have one and where would it be hidden ? The VAG guy didn't really know but reckoned I'd have to change the pump since that houses the control unit which would most likely be draining the battery. Thanks.

It's about bl@@dy time... the number of people on phones who have nearly knocked me off my bike (whilst I legally filter through traffic) is unbelievable. I normally do a little shake of my finger but they either look at me blankly or become obusive. Ban them straight away, that's what I say.

This thread should maybe go in the "problems" section but since it is just a question I've added it here... If the clutch bites very early, ie least than an inch from the floor, is this a sign of a worn clutch or is some adjustment possible ? I am aware it is hydraulic but do not know whether this is adjustable or not. One other question whilst I am here... I have quite a few bulbs gone in the dash, for instance the rear window heater switch, the heater control knobs and some of the other switches. How easy are these to get at to replace ? Are there any vital tips in getting to them ? Thanks guys and girls. Ryk "Picked up my Storm yesterday and keep smiling" man

On this issue of wheels... I've just put a deposit on a Storm (and am very happy) and I am picking it up this week. The wheels are the originals and are in need of a recon. Two questions - a) anyone how much this costs ? b) Should I save the recon money and put it towards 17" wheels. The Corrado does look better with the bigger wheels. Is it sacriledge to put different wheels on a Storm ?

I've seen 145 come up on the dial on my old VR Storm, but I've managed to see 152 on my CBR600. Oh the joy of private roads. I must look up the reg of my old Storm to see if one of you guys is taking care of her. I know it was N183 but I can't remember the last part (old age). I sold it back in 1998/9 after three glorious years of ownership. (and before you pick me up on my maths... I was the second owner).
