  1. Going to be putting an add in for Sale soon!
  2. Yep! Height and back rest Electronically adjustable. Forward / backward manual adjust just like standard seats!
  3. Alby, No probs, was going to put them on ebay unless someone on here wants to make me an offer i cant refuse! Similar LHD set sold for about £560ish http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 71132&rd=1 These were heated mind you, Im hoping for about £450 complete Inc Door cards etc.
  4. Heres a few pics of my Interior: Probably be selling complete interior soon and replacing with standard interior and then selling my car  (cant afford 2 spare cars already paying company car tax on company car).
  5. Just out of interest do you think the bolsters from a Escort RS recaro could be used to repair my worn drivers bolster as VW Cant get a replacement foam for these unlike the standard interiors foam???
  6. Dont think RS recaros were electric not that this is really important but usually a way to tell if interior is genuine VW. I think golf II recaros were electric to but useless for Corrados as subframe makes you sit much higher! All you people out there with Leccy Recaros! Someone must have an adjuster switch they dont want! Im in desperate need for one i will even take someones old faulty one! PM me if you have one!
  7. First time i did my heater matrix it took me and a mate 10 hours but this involved dash out twice as i crushed the plastic matrix pipe that goes through the bulkhead by massively overtightening the jubilee clip! The next one i did (not too long ago now) took me 4 hours in total (with same mate ) and that included putting foam (draft excluder to be precise) on all bits of dash that came in contact with other plastics. This is well worth doing as my dash is now totally squeak free. If you really dont want to do the job price sounds about right and in this cold weather you will probably think it was worth every penny!
  8. Joe, i just did this job on both my corrados and it is really simple! time consuming and fiddily but simple! I would think the price is about right as probably 6 hours labour involved + £30ish for matrix. Be brave(£300 could pay for a lot of other stuff for your car) have a go yourself tools needed : Phillips Screwdriver(s), 8mm socket, 10mm socket and 24mm socket (to take steering wheel off). Start by looking for any visible screws taking them out removing trays etc and it all becomes pretty self explanitory. Good luck
  9. Guys please beware of ebay user scanitin! hes selling fake possibly lethal steering wheels on ebay! please see my thread in ebay and misc! ***Sorry mods know this is not strictly right to duplicate threads etc but dont want anyone else to get caught out or possibly even hurt****
  10. I noticed on a 01 plate Audi tt (180 bhp version) without the vented rear disc uses what appear to be identical rear callipers to the mk iv but appear to be powder coated or plastic coated in green! I was going to get these instead but wasnt 100% sure if the carrier was the same so decided to leave them! just out of interest does anyone know if these callipers would've fit? :?: :?:
  11. The original rear callipers on my 93 2.0 16v are exactally the same as the mkIII ones! I dont know if these were fitted by someone else before i got the car but i do know that they are cast and that the handbrake has siezed on one side!!! :( I took the carriers and mk iv flexis aswell when i took them off the car and even took the pads as they looked quiet meaty (even tho i dont need them as upgrading to grooved rear discs and green stuff pads)! Just wondering as i took the flexis from the mk iv with the banjo type connector already there and currently attatched to calliper can i use these instead of buying new flexis? I ask as the fitting at the other end of the flexi pipe attatches to the same diameter copper and appears to have the same sort of compression type joint at the end! The salvage yard i got therse from is called Nevendon Salvage and is in Hullbridge Essex (ive been going there for years and are always very reasonable!) and i believe they will also for a charge do the dismantling and post items on to you if you can pay by credit card!!! I think they,ve got a web address i will see if i can find it if anyone is interested! When i was there they was breaking 5 Mk iv's a few passats lupos and polos loads of audis e.g a4, a6 tt a8 2 skoda octavia rs a couple of seat cupras and even a few porsches! The guy quoted me a month back £120 for 2 front callipers and the discs, pads, brake lines and carriers from a P reg 911 carrera (think its a 964) didnt get them as was a bit short of ££££ at the time  but they looked in superb condition and was the powder coated black brembo type with porsche written in white writing on them! I think with a bit of fabrication and some hard work i could have got these on my c and would have made a fantastic brake upgrade for less than the price of one brand new front calliper from VW! Steve
  12. just bought some mk 4 callipers!!! £40 the pair of a 2004 tdi that had only done 3200 miles!!!!   do i need to use corrado pads or should i go and buy some mk4 rear pads???? Just need the flexis! and mk4 rears here i come!!!! hmmmm do i put g60 fronts on????? :D Steve
  13. Hey Alex! Your cars looking superb!!! 8) One day this will be how my car looks! Is that a different front bumper now compaired to earlier pics couldnt see the side vents in it before! Im gonna have to get some of those side skirts too! are they DSP ones! (nabbed your ecu now gonna nab your style lol!!!) Steve
  14. Im Thinking about fitting some MK4 rear callipers to my 93 2.0l 16v C. Ive fitted replacement callipers before qnd obviousley changed discs and pads but am feeling a little nervous about swapping for callipers from a different vehicle! I Think this years C already uses equivilant to MK3 callipers and was really wondering if its worth upgrading these to the MK4 type i know the mk4 type are less likely to seize but is it worth all the aggro of getting new brake lines made???? If it is im not sure where i could get the flexi brake lines that would need changing to accept the Mk4 callipers made or can these be bought in a kit of some type? (im in the Essex area) and if so how much do you reckon these should cost? :?: Can someone whos done this modification let me know where they got there flexi brake lines from and roughly how much they paid? And most importantly any problems that they've had doing this mod or since with the brakes??? :?: Cheers Steve
  15. Thanks jims16v Part numbers would be usefull! I like to think im a bit handy with a screwdriver/socket set so i think im going to attempt the moonroof modification first plus i like the sound of a glass roof too! Im going to go to my local breakers tommorow and see if i can get a moonroof from a passat but if not i suppose its a trip to my local rip off merchants (VW) on Monday for new genuine parts! What year passat is it im looking for? ive read 1994-1997 but have also been told from 1992 onwards? Is there anything that i should worry about when taking the Headlining out (like those tiny plastic clips that are hidden everywhere that break as soon as you look at them)? Thanks guys for your info would probably have just ended up booking it into VWs at major cost no doubt if i couldnt find out this information it is much appreciated! Steve
  16. Thanks for the info! will try it as soon as it gets light enough! Just been looking on the forum at the moonroof modification and was wondering is it really as simple as removing interior lining and unbolting and unplugging then just bolting and plugging the passat one in? Im sure i can get the interior trim and headlining out easy enough but was wondering if i needed any modification to the passat roof to make it fit? Thanks Steve
  17. HELP! Its stuck open and interiors getting soaked everytime it rains worried about damaging my Electric Recaros not to mention having to sit on soggy seats! I know the Cs sunroofs have always been troublesome and was just waiting for the day it broke so i could do the passat mooroof modification! But it could have happened in the summer when it doesent rain quiet as much! The problem ive got is that the sunroof is tilted open and when i go to close it only the drivers side of the sunroof starts to close! I know that this needs a proper repair to fix but is there ant way that i can close it until i get the time/parts needed to perform the moonroof conversion? Any advice welcomed!!!! Steve
  18. Drilled the hole! :) Popped the spring! :) Ignition barrel released! :D because of buckled old housing still a bit tight so prised out gently with screwdriver! :D Ignition Barrel pops out! Hits the deck! :( Breaks the last 1/4 inch off the end of the ignition barrel! AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Anyone know where i can buy a cheap ignition barrel? (so much for trying to cut down the amount of keys i have!!!)
  19. Found it!!!! i was looking at different part of the manual not the bit on the steering lock! Gonna drill it now!!! :D Thankyou
  20. Sorry Must have mis explained what i need then! I need to get the ignition barrell (the bit which the key actually goes into) from the old ignition housing so that i can fit it into the new ignition housing! at the moment i have completley removed the ignition housing from the car (the bit which the indicator and wiper stalfs screw into) with the ignition barrel in situ. I have removed the block connector from the back of the ignition switch and undone the screw which is holding the ignition switch onto the ignition barrel and removed the switch. All thats left to do is swap over the ignition barrel which is what i cant remove from the old ignition housing! (i think thats more accurate) :? Any ideas!
  21. Thanks but if possible wanted to keep he same key so i dont have a seperate one for ignition and doors. (sounds petty but with 4 cars your talking a lot of keys in ya pocket) Still if i have to get a new ignition switch am i gonna have the same nightmare trying to get it in as what i am having trying to get it out!!! Thats where ive been going wrong ive had me head on the brake and my legs out the sunroof!! Can you get someone to take a picture of you in the poisition i need to be in so i make sure i get it right (ha ha ha!!!) Cheers
  22. Help!!! I have a 90 1.8 16v C. Not long had it and when i bought it the steering lock was broken and the steeering colum plastic cowling didnt fit properly! Today had some new wheels fitted and decided to fit my Momo steering wheel and try and sort it out! only to find the ignition switch housing was buckled and broken and held on by a dodgy looking jubillee clip (thats why cowling didn't fit)! After a trip to vw and £48 later i had a shiny new housing minus the ignition switch. I dont have a corrado workshop manual (haynes dont do one and i refuse to pay £80 from big boys toys for one!) so had a look at my mk 2 golf one which gave me the basics on how to fit the replacement part. The problem i have is trying to get the ignition switch out of the old housing in my golf manual it looks like it just pulls out but i have tried and tried and tried but can not get the thing to budge. Does anyone know how the switch comes out or has a corrado manual that they could possibly scan the relevant page of and mail to me so that i can sort this out! Steve *shiny new 17" wheels but cant start the bloody thing*
  23. Hi, I am new and have only just recently purchased my Corraddo 1.8 16v. So far i am pleased it is a great car apart from the bolster in the drivers seat is worn and both front seats are a bit shabby. I have been looking on ebay and in breakers for a decent replacement interior (leather if possible) but as you may already know these are rare and good ones are non existant. I have found a couple of nice porsche 911 black leather seats. and know somewhere where i could have the rear seats trimmed to match. Has anyone already tried fitting porsche sheets into a corrado and if so how difficult is it? has anyone got any pictures? do they even fit at all? The other thing i would like to do is replace the carpets (prefferably black [Match the seats]) does anyonre know of a company that sells replacement carpets or if any corrados came with black carpets as standard? Cheers Steve :D
