As some of you know on this forum, i have had quite a bit of work completed (all of the below will have done less that 50 miles) on it since buying it earlier this year- Which includes: • New Radiator • New Oil Cooler seals - inc new oil and filter • New racing pads - front and back - ' Black Diamond - Predator' • New Bonnet cable • Polybushes - Front Rear and Front of Front 4 new tyres (these are on Golf Gti wheels as shown in the photo's but i have the original speedlines + tyres included, but the wheels need refurb as corroded) The car itself has MOT til end of Nov 2012 and Tax til end of May 2012. It is on 129K. All electrics work ie: sunroof (although very slow), windows and spoiler all ok. Toad Ai606 immobiliser - all working inc remote. The service history shows: Main Dealer printout - 6100 / 17133 / 26368 / 37530 / 46212 / 79206 / 87141 / 113773 miles (merc dealer) /119624 miles Other major items done - Engine mountings / Starter motor and Heater Matrix invoices over the past 7 years. As you can see from the photos i have stripped out the rear seats etc and spare, but i have all the bits so they will come with the car. Also you can see the NSR bumper paint isnt matching and due to its age the paint isnt that great in a few areas. All in all, it will make someone else a fantastic daily runner or track car / project, so i am very sad to not see this through to the end and get the enjoyment from her on the track. I am located in Westbury – Wilts. All my photos are too large - they are all 3.5MB? to upload app, please mail me and i will forward on - unless there is a trick up upload?

Hi, on going saga with my VR6 track project - and i need some help please. Ive got the car back from the gge today after a new radiator was fitted - i got it home, pulled the bonnet cable to check the rad etc out and the cable snapped in my hand. Ive pulled the sheafing out as it was hollow and its left a thin piece of metal cable, i pull this with plyers and the bonnet still wont open, ive taken the grill off to have a look ( in a red mist im afraid and now broke all 3 clips on the top :-( ) - does any know how i can get the bonnet open? Thanks

Hi, thanks for replying, Rad arrived, being fitted today, then thats all the bits done for its 1st track outing on 03/03/12.

Hi, My 93 Vr6 could do with a new radiator - please can you advise where is best to get one from or recommend a supplier please, plus how difficult in real terms is it to fit? are there many items that need to come off first? panels etc? Its now back from the gge today and had its polybushes put on, so its off to the local tyre fitting place to get its tracking done in 1/2 hour, then discussions with my wife - do i keep it or sell it - either way its needs a new rad :-( Thanks
-
Hi, ok, good point! Apologies - i will get the photos sorted and then advertise it - unless i am allowed to keep it somehow :-)

Hi, i have been looking at building a track car from my recently purchased 1994 VR6 Corrado. Its got MOT unitl Nov 2012 and tax May 12, plus i have now put Predator pads on it, its just had it oil cooler seal fixed ( to stop an oil leak) and stripped out the rear seats ( i still have these to put back in) it needs its tracking sorted, but i have bought brand new tyres and put these onto a golf gti set of wheels and fitted these to the car ( i still have the original corrado wheels and tyres on them but they have started to have the laquer stuff come off them). its colour code Lc5y i think ( dark red metalic). Its got 127k on it, but the bottom of the drivers door isnt too great in colour match, all electrics etc work, inc sunroof and spoiler. I now have found out that i probably cant keep it until i wanted to start the new track season - March. Does any know how much i should advertise the car for? it will make a great track car project or daily driver ( i know what i paid for it last month, but ive paid out for new wheels, tyres, pads, oil leak etc so im after rough ideas please). Thanks for your help, and if anyone can tell me how much its worth i can then sort photos etc and put them on here in the Classified section.

Updates and questions !!! Hi - i have now swapped the wheels with a set of Golf GTi wheels and replaced all the tyres - the original wheels were quite corroded (but i may keep as spares). Interior all stripped out, Racing pads put on - ( i went for Predator ones) and Dot 5.1 flushed through. Rust spot son doors and rear quarters ground down and filled, and resprayed ( not quite the exact colour match but will do for 1st track outing later this month) Its in my local gge today as it has a massive oil leak when cold around the oil cooler and its easier for them to repair. One issue they said they cant sort is the Camber? it pulls terrible to the left so i asked them to sort the tracking, but they said i need to take it to VW to get the camber sorted? does that sound right and is that a big job? Thanks

Hi, i have exactly the same problem with my VR6, hence why i have been looking at this thread. My local gge put it on the ramps after 1 drove it there and no leak, i then started it up again at home and you can see it drip from the front of the car quite quick, its coming roughly above the oil filter housing? could be the oil cooler? any advice here is great, plus did your oil leak get diag'd? Tango?

HI, I am after some advice please, i have a 94 VR6 and the 15inch speedlines are in terrible condition, so i need a new set. Are they easy to find 2nd hand or will any golf 5x100 wheels fit? What do i need to check before i get any VW wheels? and can they all fit if 5 stud? The car is at normal ride height so what is the best size wheel for track days? 16/17? Thanks Mark

Hi, thanks for your thoughts so far, its having its major oil leak sorted on Friday and the wheel nuts sorted, then its onto the brake challenges! Is fitting an Oil Cooler easy? and Coullstar - how much is it?

Hi, i have just bought a 1994 VR6 this weekend to turn into a full track car (my old 328i track car broke badly), what are the best suggestions and things to watch out for please. I have read alot about temp and changing the therms so i will get that done, plus i'm sure the brakes need uprating for track use. It has a mega oil leak (only when running) so i need that looked at 1st, plus the three pronged locking nut is broke so i need to get the wheel nuts drilled off. So once ive forked out and got this done whats nexts? advice please on : Ride height for track - and whats best to get it to the optimum Exhaust - stay std? What brakes have people uprated to? Tyres- what profile can the speedlines run at best with (50 seems quite high) plus any other tips i need please. Thanks
