  1. ...and get the best possible car for as much as you can afford.

My first C was all cosmetically dressed up to the look the part, then bits literally started dropping off!

Make sure you have a good look around, and try to buy as genuine a car as you can. You dont always get what you pay for. First time round, I paid good money for a bad car (off an ugly geezer as it happens)

You are already doing the right thing by asking questions in this forum. You wont find better advice mate. Good luck.

  2. I've recently got this Mequiars "Quick Clay" clay bar cleaning stuff (cant remember the exact name), but was told before i use it to get some tips from people that have used it in the past...

So, has anyone used it before? Can you give some tips on how best to use it and get a good result on my car please? Thanks.

  3. what happened to those fuel strikes we had a few years ago, when all the tankers decided they aren't gonna go anywhere? We need another one of those again. This fuel price is ridiculous! Im trying to run a 2.9 litre car here. Its a joke. Gonna have to start seriously thinking about only using if for long distance journeys etc.

  4. your brakes will feel fine, but as far as i know, when the abs light is on, it means that the abs is not working. it could be somthing simple like a dodgy sensor which arent that expensive to replace. you could also apparently clean the sensors. either way, you dont want to be driving around with that light on for too long cos it means if you need to brake hard, you could lock into a skid.

  5. 911 turbos had red calipers, and ever since i saw them, have always wanted the same look on my car. im gonna do mine red, although i agree black or silver would be much more subtle look.

  6. Hey everyone.... I just wanted to share the amazing experience and tell you all that my VR6 is well and truly back on the road after an 8-10 week break. (And boy have i got a HUGE smile on my face... even took the longest route possible to get to work this morning) :)

Originally i took it off the road because my Karmann Ghia was ready for the "summer". Then i discovered that it was overheating... remember this thread:

    http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... er=#267075

well, the good news is that yesterday it got sorted. After all the wondering and guessing, I had the thermostat replaced at a cost of £10.42 plus a ripoff £45 labour and with antifreeze and VAT it came to £78.39.

Anyway.... its great to be back behind of the wheel of a car that gives you that feeling of "fitting like a glove" and to have all that power and noise under your right foot too!

Its actually quite overwhelming getting used to all that power again! You really do have to restrain yourself at all times. Its great to be back! :D

  7. I think the Corrado doesnt need any body mods really. Not anywhere near what this guy has done. The saddest thing is, that he has spent all that time and effort and the car looks crap.

The guy has spent all that time 'climbing the wrong mountain' in my opinion.

The back looks korean and the front looks like a golf! Why oh why oh why! Ah well. each to their own and all that i guess!

  8. ive had a shitty 996cc nissan micra, a host of beetles and the likes, and golf gti and a 16v corrado. without a doubt the VR is the best car i've ever owned for driving pleasure. although i always look back on the GTi as a great car to have owned.

  9. blimey Paul, it took this thread to get you on the forum!... and you've only got one of the sweetest Corrados i've ever laid my eyes on!

Good to have you on board!

I guess this means you're gonna have to spend a tiny bit less time keeping the motor and shiny as it is, to sit on the internet talking to us lot!

  10. BTW, the clipper is reputedly pose value only. they dont move very well as they didnt benefit from the GTi power. As a result, a second hand clipper will be cheaper. The GTi's are fetching high prices right now. Stick to a Corrado EnthusiacticEddy.

  11. I think this is an all time cool and classic car. However i would not have one. I think that they have got a bit of an image problem. Round here it tends to be a bit of a hairdressers car. If anyone is reading this and owns one, i dont mean to cause offence to you. just my opinion. Edward, depends on your own taste at the end of the day. I say wait, save up and get yourself a Corrado.

  12. Yesterday, was cruising in the Ghia on a perfect hot summer evening, and had the windows down... and those stupid and annoying flying ants were flying around. Somehow one flew directly across, into my car and straight into the footwell!

Bloody thing nearly made me crash the car! I hate all these horrible inscets buzzing around in the summer.

The flying ants arent even proper flies. They look like they've been smoking skunk! flying around all wonky and slow!
