cheers mate, the price is very reasonable im just trying to work out if its worth while making the trip lol. its a fair old drive as I bought the car from Sheffield so I know Fuel cost was a fair bit travelling back. this time it would be to and from so would end up costing me around £130 for the sunroof lol I think ill need to hold out for someone a little closer mate. thanks anyway. ill keep you in mind and if you dont sell it soon drop me a pm and i may have to reconsider this as an option. thanks mate

Hi FishWick yes it's a vr6. It was replaced with a VW part? It's very intermittent and usually only happening when stationary or turning?

Hi guys just a quick question, changed the pas pump drive belt and tensioner on the weekend but there are times when driving the steering turns solid? Any ideas of what it could be? Doing my head in.

Parts have arrived and she is booked in for the garage tomorrow morning, let hope no other issues arrise between now and then.....hope everyone is well

Hi pal really depends on the noise? on my vr i had a similar noise got progressively worse over time and it turned out to be the pas pump. if your steering is getting heavy then worth looking into. hope you get it sorted withought too much trouble. Cheers, Mems

thanks guys, daves16v i purchased the repair kit and it arrived yesterday. My door opens from the inside yes but not the outside. so you think this will resolve the problem? i havent looked at the repair kit yet but is it pretty simple to fix then?

This isnt far from me at all, I could make this as long as my power steering is sorted by then. would love to see some more local rados and meet some of you.

oh nice one not far at all, ill have to keep a look out, its crazy i drove back from sheffield and i saw one other rado on the road in over 200 miles!! it does make it a bit sweeter to know that they are fairly rare now. also makes the cost of repairs / running them a little bit easier to digest :thumbleft:

so i discovered a leak from the thermostat housing, also in need of a new power steering pump and will be replacing the belt and tensioner. this has already been done but it looks like the tensioner is lose? other than that she seems to be happy. will need to givve the old girl a good clean soon. weekend weather was pretty grim to be honest so didnt get a chance.

as the tile really guys, in desperate need of a driver side door handle in working order. please do let me know asap thank you

Yes I'm pretty sure it's aqua blue but will confirm. Stripped front end off today and sorted a small water leak. Still lots to do but mainly spent the day sorti g the garage out for her. Will get more pics soon.

Cheers Ben, she needs a few bits sorting out but I'm hoping she's here for the long term so slowly but surely she will get the TLC she needs and deserves. On the down side I think she needs a new power steering pump :-( she's booked in to my vw garage next week woooooop!!

235 miles and now back in london. Great drive back enjoyed every moment of it. few bits to sort out but hopefully nothing to major.

thanks scarlet_vr6, hoping to have fixed the clip issue with a cheeky ebay buy. let you know how we got on, on the drive back to London. its going to be a long first drive for the old girl. hoping all goes well
