  1. Well my car was stolen today!! Guess I can no longer have any more problems huh !!!! Im sooo angry right now. Damn Alarm etc doesnt do anything for those stealer
  2. Thx Steve Mac, ill check these out. Consumption based on MFA is a little better, Highway was 10 Litres/100km to the city, and back home it hovered around 12ish. City was 12-14 today so thats alot better than the 20 ive been getting. Any ideas on why it would fluxuate so much?
  3. ok tried a brand new sensor from the dealer.... same readings.... hovering around 20 litres/100 km Sooo guess that didnt work. Any other ideas that it could be?
  4. Thanks for the Info Henny, I am replacing the blue sensor as soon as the car cools down... last thing i want to have happen is coolant splash me in the face
  5. Would the temp gage tell you if its not working? Because my gage reads the temp fine, but the odd occassion it doesnt and stays at 0 then 2-5 mins later it jumps up to 90ish When the mileage is crap (all the time now) the gage in the cluster is fine unless it does like i said above... (IE sitting at 90ish give or take) Ive bought a new sensor, cost 20$ Canadian tax included so that is not too bad (: Here is one more question..... when the car is cold, it doesnt start properly.... engine turns 2-3 times (or the starter) and then seems like its going to start then dies. But as soon as I turn the key off, and try to start it again.. voila starts perfectly first shot.... Then when it hot, I could turn it on and off and it starts perfect..... only does this when its cold.... any ideas?
  6. Thx guys... ah so thats what the difference is between the 2... kewl kewl. Greatly appreciated. The blue temp sensor huh,... .guess that would suggest why sometimes my temp gauge doesnt work... or starts working like after 10 mins the car is warmed up and voila bolts up to the correct termp.... usually 98-102 dg. Does that blue sensor cause that too? Ok that makes sense..... Lamda probe meaning the CO2 sensor in the exhaust before the manifold? I put in a universal one because the mileage was way way out of wack and that was about 7 month ago. Guess its a possibility..... but the car rights good from what im used to... lots of power still, not chugging or anything, boost is good, just the mileage is shitty. Hmmm.... ill try the blue sensor and get back to you all. Thx
  7. Hi there, Appear to be back here once again haha.... but hey you guys are great when it comes to helping us stupid non mechnical guys out (: Ok, my main issue is that my MFA1 reading for the litres/100KM (Im in Canada so it in Kilometers) will not go below 12 Litres/100 KM on the highway. Before i was able to get like 8ish give or take. In the City it would be around 9 or 10ish, but now it ranges between 25-16 Litres/100 KM and its costing me alot more since ive noticed this. I really do not know the differece between the MFA1 and MFA2 reading, but the MFA2 reading is lower. IE MFA1 16, and MFA2 would be 10. It just seams that my fuel mileage is crap. For example I put 10$ of Supreme 91 octane gas aprox 10ish Litres, and Im lucky if I can drive 30 Kilometers in the City, so if that was averaged out, for 40$ (Full tank almost) I could do about 120 Kilometers in the City, and about 3 hundred Kilometers on the highway..... I Do not have a gas leak, but my fuel casing was cracked and it was replaced about 1 month ago. I would not think this would have anything to do with it. Any ideas on what would make my readings so high? Some people have mentioned Timing belt may need to be changed? seems a bit odd to me.... or a fuel injection cleaning? Spark Plugs and Rotor and Distributor cap changed about 3 months ago Any ideas would helps. Thx!
  8. Hi there, My Catalytic Converter died on me a few days ago, rattling like crazy like marbles are banging away in it. My buddy has one from a VR6 but cant remember if its from a Corrado or a Golf etc. Any ideas if one would work on the 90 G60? If you need anymore info please let me know. I think this is the model number 1HM 131 7019 (Not sure, hard to make it out) Says VR6 OBD on it with a marker. It is a really fat sucker, about 5" in height when laid flat on the ground. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Ok, it was the heater matrix. Volks Dealership put a new one in for free (: Also cleaned my carpets and did a car wash !! Yahoo!
  10. Howdy peoples! Car is a G60, and im non technical so please bare with me. As i was driving, my temperature light started blinking but the temps where fine, reading 94-98 Degress. Took a look under the hood and noticed the level where you put in water to the rad was very low. So i added water to the norm and that fixed the temp problem, butttttttttt For the last few days i have had my heater set up for cold air, but today it was a little cold as i was driving on the highway i decided to turn the heat on and when i did that my front windows fogged up and smoke/fumes started coming out like crazy, jeese i couldnt see anything. Felt like i was at a concert you know. Turn it back to cold and it stopped, put it back to hot and again the same thing, prestone smell, windows fogged etc. I let it run like that and it eventually stopped but i dont think this is normal. Anyone know what this may be? Heater Core / Matrix? Thx!
  11. Thx for the info. Glad im not the only one hehe... so i guess that weird noise in the back could be that unit. I will take a look at it tomorrow. Thx!
  12. Dont think its the fuel pump, i can hear it right inbehind the seat by the panel. Ive read somewheres that it might be a power window/power lock problem which is right inbehind the left/right seat depending how you look at it hehe... if you sitting in the passenger seat its behind the seat in the back near the trunk. I shall take a peep in there tomorrow if i can. What do you guys think?
  13. Howdy, back here again ): Well, one day out driving at -25 Degrees Celcuis nice and warm in the car, then all of a sudden the passenger window goes down and will not come back up with either switch and the driver side window will not go down either. So i stop the car and turn it off. Turn the car back on still no go. Turn the car off again, and use the engine key in the door to see what it does and the window does go up all the way. So i turn ther car back on, and the damn window goes back down again and i am unable to bring it back up unless i use the door key. Now when the window goes down, sometimes i can get it to go back up with the switch ( 1 -10 times ) but it comes back down. I can hear a clicking noise on the drivers side door, and it keeps clicking for a period of time, when this clicking noise occurs and the window it up, everytime its clicks the window goes down a tad and keeps doing it until its completely down. So sometimes it one shot it goes down, and sometimes in spurts i guess you could say. Now today i took the drivers side door panel out to take a look at the wires etc ( not that i know what im doing hehe ) but i was unable to find any damaged wires of any sort. Reason i took the drivers side is because the continuous clicking noise when the window starts acting up is on this side. Drivers side window is fine, but when the passenger one screws up, the drivers side will not work either. So this is where i am at right now.... Driver side door panel is taken out, ive disconnected the window switches and the Window still goes down by its self, lots of times is when i turn the car on its goes down and i cant use the switch to stop it. Now ive noticed that the central locking is now not locking the passenger side, and i also here a weird sound coming from the rear right corner, close to the built in spear area just inbehind the seat. Sounds like a buzzing kind of noise. Anyone have any ideas?? Maybe i can just remove the Fuse?? Not sure what one it is though. #1 Passenger Window acting bonkers #2 Central locing will not lock the passenger door anymore #3 Weird buzzing noise from the passenger built in speak area in the back near the trunk. Please help ! Its freezing when im driving and the damn window keeps going down

    squeaky clutch

I just had my clutch replaced on my G60 because it was slipping and it cost me about 900$ Canadian.
  15. Hi again, As i get more and more used to this car, i seem to have more and more questions, and possibly problems. Here are a few new ones i seem to have come accross. Cruise control appears not to work. I try to set it at lets say 120Km/h and when i let go of my gas pedal, it doesnt stick or stay. Starter doesnt turn over when its cold. Im in Canada so the temps are currently around -8 to -20 degrees celcius.... Car starts when it warm with no problems. What happens is that i get a spinning sound and thats all. Sometimes i get nothing at all. If i retry 2-4 times, the car starts up fine with no problems. Heres another one, When its cold.... i cannot change the gear into reverse, when i try to, it goes into 1st instead. It feels like its going into reverse, i press down and up, but its in 1st, Like i said, when its warms up, i can then go into reverse with no probs at all. 2nd gear when cold seems to grind a tad, its not smooth. All the other gears are nice smooth and go in very easily. 2nd gear when the car warms up is better, but still has that little grind feeling with the shifter when i change to 2nd from 1st or downshifting from 3rd. All other gears are hunky dorey. Clutch was changed a few weeks back, but it was doing it still prior to being changed so i assume it not it but maybe a transmission problem? Hmmm, oh, when i put my flashers on, is it normal for it not to turn off on their own? I have to manually turn them off, kinda a pain in the arse if you know what i mean. Sometimes i forget to turn them off, dohhhh. I thinks thats it.... seems like stupid stuff actually, but stuff i dont know how to fix ): Im a learning though thanks to all you helpful people (:
  16. hehe yeah it was a paint to get that wire out.... but everything seems to be a pain for these cars ): I have a few more questions that i will post a new topic on... hopefully i can get some insight on these "other minor problems.
  17. Yup it was the brake fluid level, it was low. Light stays off now. Thx Henny for pointing me "again" in the right direction!
  18. Hi there, I cant believe im back here haha.... had one problem that was curred by the help of all you people in here, but now im back with another little minor problem. I noticed that my ABS and Emergency lights were not coming on in my dash, so i took the plastic knob off and noticed that it was not connected. Sooo i connected it, and turned the car on, the ABS light comes on and turns off after 5 seconds give or take, and the emergency brake like comes on also, but it doesnt turn off right away. Sometimes it turns off when the ABS light turns off, and then while im driving, the damn light comes back on. Now my brake is not pulled up during this time (: When the light turns off, i can put the brake on and the light comes on, and when i put it back down it turns off. Any ideas why it goes on and off when it pleases?? The ABS light always stays off and doesnt come on when the brake light does. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. PS, i assume that when i bought the car, the previous owner unplugged it for this reason. Thanks!!!
  19. Howdy, Thx for the info SteveMac. The car is in the garage right now, i am leaking gear oil and will be putting in a new clutch as its stuttering when im letting go of the clutch, so i think there is oil there. Thx again for the info, ill get them to check the timing at the same time.
  20. In regards to Stevemacs post..... Is the tming something that i can do myself? I am being told that there is a special tool that is needed to do it. Now im not sure what 6 degrees BTDC means. Any thoughs hehe. If i can do it myself ill give it a go. No more damn mechanics that forget to plug in a cables!! Please advise. Cope. Me never!
  21. Woohooooooooo!!!!! That fixed the problem.. i have power now! (: All i did was plug that black wire to the one that was pulling air in and she "GOES" quite fast to my liking. I am still getting the odd backfire though. Any ideas? I want to thank all of you for helping me out... "especially" Henny for pointing out that to me. I am so glad i came here, you guys are the best!
  22. I wish i could plug it in, the cable has been cut on the end. Maybe they couldnt take it off and decided to snip it when they were replacing the throttle body. I will make sure they take care of it tomorrow.
  23. Well, I looked around a little bit where you guys told me to look by the throttle body in the rear of it. I have one wire with black coating, almost like a mesh type wire. Right beside it is a plug with a hole, quite small, and when i put my finger over it, it is sucking air in. If you are looking towards the engine, right in behind the throttle switch and about 1-2 inches below it thats where nothing is connected.Should there be something connected to it? Now i have a wire that is not connected to anything, it is black and mesh like just like the one connected to the throttle body in the back of it. I am wondering if its supposed to connect to it. There is no connector on it, looks like it was cut off. There is also a metal type of hose that is connecting to the throttle body on the front right hand side of it, it appears to be damaged a little bit as there is a slight lip whereas it should be completely round. Wonder if thats my problem..... we shall see tomorrow.
  24. Can do Henny, Ill check it in the morning, now wouldnt that be something if it wasnt screwed on tight.... but i will guess that it is because its doing the same thing with the new one. But i shall check it out. Anyone of you guys in the Toronto area? haha hmmmm
  25. Hi again. First off, thanks to all who have givin me some directions to go in. I will start troubleshooting this stuff on monday at the garage now that i have some "very good" information to go on. I will look tomorrow myself at some stuff and hopefully see something visually close to the throttle switch and body. I will keep everyone posted with the soon to be good outcome (:
