Hey guys, i have a late spec (1996) VR6, ran VAG-COM on it and i got fault codes 00735 and 00553. the first code relates to the recirculation system which i believe is supposed to relieve the fuel tank pressure/vapours into the engine via a carbon canister. I have found the fuel line and a connector which i believe is running from the ECU which is not connected to anything just below the MAF housing. The line is venting the vapours into the engine bay so i can only deduce that the canister is missing? Would anyone be able to advise me where to purchase this part from? With regard to 00553 fault code, this is a problem with the MAF itself i believe. I found a guide on testing the MAF, on one of the pins i should be getting a reading of around 12V with the ignition turned on, however i was not getting any reading from this, which leads me to believe that the wiring from the ECU to the MAF is past it! How would i be able to check if the problem is with the ECU or the wire? Is there anyone out there who would be able to identify which pin/slot that wire plugs into on the ECU? Sorry for all the noob questions, your help is much appreicated! Cheers Nos :afro:

Hey mate, surround is grey. -
As the title says really, plastic surround is in mint condition with early style karmann badge, gaiter also mint with no marks or tears, knob has some marks on it which I have tried to photograph, looks like someone spilt bleach on it £25 posted

Hey guys, looking for the left hand side main instrument cluster screw cover cap, the one closest to the heated seat/fog light controls, anybody got a spare? Cheers

First chuftie for me was the first time at the petrol station. There were some temporary traffic lights up and the geezer controlling the lights ran up and started talking about his polo g40 and how he always wanted a VR, he asked if it was quick so my dad decided to give him a quick demonstration. Unfortunately he forgot all about controlling the traffic lights!!

Green L reg VR6 parked off winchmore hill green lanes, looked standard except for the wheels Also saw another Green corrado with smoked rear lights about 3 weeks ago in Hazelwood Lane palmers green, was on foot and gave you a wave :)

Spotted in palmers green north London, dark blue? L700 *** Gave you a thumbs up but you looked like you were thinking wtf!

Been having some immobiliser problems with this. Took the dash off to find a mess of wires, they've obviously tried to fiddle with it and made it worse! Took the front shocks off and raised them about an inch as the car was riding too low and smacking the splitter at any opportunity! Gave them a quick blast of paint too. Sorted out the tracking as it was 1 degree out. Also replaced some jubilee clips in the engine bay, a few were leaking, all sorted now and car runs much better!

Will have a looksee tomorrow, thanks guys!

It will rev but after maybe 2-3 seconds it will cut out. Sometimes it is fine though.

Hi all, new to VR6's, but last night and today I went to start the car, car starts fine but the engine just cuts out dead unless you put your foot on the pedal a bit. No fuel starvation etc. cars runs perfect otherwise. Any ideas?

Cheers guys, for some reason the bootlid looks a different colour in the photos? Weird.... As for addiction wise, my dad is a VAG nut and this was his present :D Got a Mk2 Gti 16V sitting next to the 'rado in the garage right now and i'm fixing up his old mk1 '81 golf gti, so it looks like we are already fully certified! I've got a pipercross viper induction kit I will be fitting to her though :)

Bought a VR6 today Got 34mpg on some pretty brisk motorway driving. Mod list is as follows - SuperSprint stainless steel exhaust rear section, cat-rear silencer section custom made by AB Motorsport - Heatwrapped 6 branch tubular manifold - Schrick 263 fast road cams - Bilstein Streetline Shocks front, Weitec rear - Uprated headlight loom - Bern HT lead set - Vibratechnics competition engine mounts - Vibratechnics fast road gearbox mounts - Aluminium "crack" water pipe fitted from Gruvin America - Mocal oil cooler w/ thermostatic sandwich plate - Crystal clear indicators - Red tinted rear lights - Lupo GTI wiper conversion - Passat rear door handles (de-locked) - De-wipered rear - Cylinder heads rebuilt with all new parts, 3 degree angle valve seats, port matched and polished inlet and exhaust ports by Stealth racing 25k miles ago at a cost of £1350 excluding new parts fitted. - Audi 17" wheels with the original Speedline centres This excludes all new OEM parts fitted to it, had around 5-6k spent on it in the last 4-5 years alone Everything works on it including the speed activated spoiler, heated leather etc. all good. Some tiny bits of bubbling and the rear arches have some rust streaking. Dad has taken it out for ANOTHER "quick spin" he's absolutely loving it! Very comfy and pretty rapid aswell. You really cannot tell this car has done 180k!
