I'm in Bishopton...Had the car been running I would probably have taken it to JR Volkswagen in Paisley but I wouldnt try to tow it. After having a better look at it I think I will just fit it myself...hopefully it goes easily.

Thanks for that....I had completely forgot about VW...They want £147 for the pump and £ 55 for the sender so it looks like it will save me a bit of cash...think I will just DIY it as well, doesn't look too hard a job.

The fuel pump on my 91 G60 has packed in and I let a local mechanic take a look at it thinking it would be an easy enough job to replace, but he seems to be having problems sourcing the correct fuel pump. He ordered what he took to be the correct one from euro car parts but found that it didnt fit and is now saying that the correct pump is going to cost £200 plus fitting. Just wondering what my options are here...do i give him the money or tow it elsewhere to someone who knows a bit about corrados or have a go myself? He didnt seem keen on stripping the old housing down and fitting an after market pump as he reckons there is a danger of explosion.....I dont really fiddle with brakes or fuel myself but am starting to think this would be the far cheapest option. Any advice would be great.

If you have a GTX i would stick with it for a while and save for a better Corrado...If you are after performance I think you may be dissapointed with 2l 16V. My mate had a GTX and loved it....still talks about it and he drives a Volvo T5 now. Going by his experience the GTX was cheap to run, good on fuel and quick off the mark but the brakes were awfull....he still has a phobia about VW brakes. If you want performace in a Corrado it is either a G60 or a VR6....but from experience G60's cost£££ in fuel and servicing....but all Corrados look smart...just depends on what you are really wanting. -

After 3 years of ownership I put my 91 Corrado g60 in for its MOT yesterday, dreading what it would fail on this time...gave the garage a call at lunchtime expecting the worst only to be told it was ready to collect. It had need one new ball joint and a new N/S/F brake pipe. My bill came to £140....but this included fitting a JMR front mount and £45 for the test itself....A corrado MOT for less than £100!!!!!! No one at work could understand why i was so happy...neither does the mrs....Just had to share this with like minded folk!
