  1. Hello just taken my sump off to replace the gasket as it had a slight leak, do I need to use any sealant or is it just a case of slap on and away we go?

  2. Haha yes that has crossed my mind. I've decided it may be best to just take the lower arms out and do those bushes and just leave the sub frame on. I managed to wrestle the nearside one out this morning and I've dropped the sump in preparation for the offside one which I'll probably do tomorrow while the sumps off. The rear wish bone bush has split so I'll more than likely replace with OEM. There's some orange ones in at the moment which I think are some cheap "sport" ones. Anyone know the best place to find OEM bushes?

  3. Hello, in need of a few items, if people have any of these for sale then please let me know. All items are for a '93 VR6.

    Rear number plate plinth

    Rear bulb holders (is there a few types? I cant remember which I need but its for a 93)

    Front 3 slot grill, with VW badge preferably.

    I also need a set of head lamps but they may have to wait till pay day.

    I'm in West Yorks and can pick up within reason, thank you.

  4. Is there a guide anywhere for this? I roughly know what I need to do, but not 100% certain. I've managed to get the 3 bolts out either side on the bracket that holds the ARB bush in place, they came out pretty easily. What other things need undoing? Will the steering rack have to come out?

    I was going to leave the ARB bushes and sub frame in place and just slide the wish bones out and do those but it makes sense to do it properly and taking the whole thing out will make life a lot easier.

    cheers

  5. VR6 | Aqua Blue | West Yorkshire

    Price: £500

    Description:

    Hello, I acquired a 1993 Aqua Blue VR6 last year, used it for several months before a heater return hose went on the MOT ramp. I since stopped using the car and have sold a few bits off of it. It is 90% complete, starts and drives. I even replaced the hose at fault. Refilled the coolant. It also had a new thermostat flange and a recent oil change (last 20 miles) It's currently sat on 15 inch Speedlines finished in an anthracite colour. The missing parts list is as follows;

    Heater controls

    Both headlamps + fogs

    Front splitter

    No interior, although it has the dash and front door cards and carpets.

    Everything else is intact and works as intended. The body is in fairly good shape too. The engines done about 166k and the gearbox was fine. It can start and even drive around (although fairly difficult with nowhere to sit) Its just sat in my garden at the moment and probably wouldn't take much to get it complete again. All panels are complete and both window motors and the rear spoiler motors are intact. I've not taken anything engine related off so it is all there.

    I could scrap it as a whole, but that would be a massive shame as I'd rather see it used or recommissioned. I could carry on breaking it but its a strenuous process and not always worth it. It would make a fantastic donor car, or even a donor engine for another project (clutch is all there etc)

    So just wondering if there is any interest, it would need transporting (though it drives) as it is currently SORN. Just in the process of swapping it back onto its original K plate. I will attach some photos when the snow goes, but if you imagine my avatar minus headlamps, thats pretty much it. Feel free to contact me if theres any questions!

    UPDATE:

    Had a lot of interest, a few no shows and another person who ended up not buying, the car is now in my unit. I have sourced some front seats for it, and just changed the leaky sump gasket. The car still runs & drives, it if it doesn't go soon I'll probably keep to restore. I've started giving the underside a refresh and have cleaned up the wish bones and painted them, checked the bushes etc. Ideally with my shaky circumstances at the moment I'd rather it still go to a good home so if anybody is seriously interested then get in touch. It's a cheap car as it is and I'm open to offers but sensible ones, I'm not going to give it away. :)

  6. As per title got a set of 4 15 inch Speedlines all with fairly serviceable tyres on them. Can't remember what brand but good tread all around. They have been re-sprayed to an anthracite sort of colour. Some scuffing, never bothered to refurb them as they weren't terribly bad but they're just sitting there at the moment.

    Located in West Yorkshire.

    Edit: They're the ones in my ava.

  7. Hello, some plans have changed and I'm selling a few Corrado bits. Car is a 93, and the seats are NOT heated but are leather. I'm selling the rear seats including the middle arm rest that lifts up, the rear door cards and the front seats. The rears and rear door cards are in very good condition as you can tell on the picture. No wear at all, look new. The fronts show a little more wear but still look good, passenger is best. There is a bit of a rip on the drivers bolster which I have included a picture of.

    I am also selling both the N/S and O/S headlamp units. Neither are cracked and all tabs are where they should be. I have a rear parcel shelf with the little straps and also a front splitter. Splitter has two cracks on the bends but they are pretty small and never bothered me. It is fairly tatty but complete.

    Items are located at BD11, do not mind posting the headlamp units for extra cost but collection on everything else.

    Leather interior = £325

    Splitter = £20

    N/S Headlamp unit = £45

    O/S Headlamp unit = £45

    Parcel Shelf = £25

    Open to offers on anything and I have plenty of other things available so PM me and I'll see what I can do.

    Thanks!
