Longlife Leeds have offered to remove the "mid box" for £75 to give me a nice "R32" sound. Anyone had this done? Is this a bit steep for what it is?

Has anybody got a spare VR6 badge they could sell me? Mine came with neither front or rear and I would like to put one of them on, not bothered which. I would LOVE a red one but they do seem to command a premium! I can pay via PayPal. Thanks chaps.

I've been quoted £249.99 for a full custom cat back stainless exhaust by Long Life Leeds. Either that or a silencer delete for £75 (In his words; it will sound very R32ish supposedly) Seems decent enough..

I sometimes get a bit of a squeel when the car is cold and I'm moving away? Seems to drop off when the clutch is disengaged fully and im on the move. Any ideas? Terribly annoying, goes away when it has warmed a bit.

Aren't you supposed to start at the furthest away from the master cylinder, then work back to the closest and then presumably the master cylinder itself?

I'll be there on the Friday with Leeds City College who have a restoration demonstration stand going, I'm on the full time course so I'll be knocking about there probably. May even be going down in the VR6! -
Do you know what kind of bulbs they are? Jim

Well the not driving at night thing is pretty much an impossibility for me but I will look into alternate dials. It's not really bad but just annoying.

Does anybody know why my instrument panel is really dim at night? The little brightness wheel is turned all the way up and I can see the computer/clock just fine. I just can't see the speedo or rev counter, both work but very dim.

I've deduced its the coolant flange that attaches to the housing thats causing the problem. Not the whole housing. It's a £9 part from GSF but not sure which seal to get to go with it? Looks to be an easy job anyway, phew! Edit: Easy job. Still leaked a bit from the housing, possibly cracked. Not terribly bad leak. Got fed up. Whacked some rad seal in there... Ugh.
-
Okay so it got worse. It looks like it is from the thermostat area just under where the coolant pipe enters it. How hard is this to replace? What new seal do I need? EDIT: Probably just go for a completely new housing. Do you get seals with it or is it just the housing?

Cheers. It's very intermittent. Has stopped and dried up now. Strange..

I've got a slight leak from an unknown hose. It's the one that comes directly from the coolant tank then goes down and splits into two. I've got a leak from the small 'L' shaped hose that goes into the block. Anyone know what this is and where I could source a new hose? Dripping pink fluid everywhere! Thanks

Cheers. It does look fairly difficult really.. ugh. Just need to work out why my dash lights are really dim now and why my spoiler only works manually. Fun.

Yeah I'll tackle it another day it was frustrating me a bit to be honest. The others are allen/hex aren't they? Is it necessary to remove the front end to get better access? Cheers

Yes it is the U. Changed the oil today, struggled massively with the filter, it just wouldn't budge. Will have to grab the proper tool at some point. Managed to sheer a bloody inlet manifold bolt off clean attempting to do the rocker cover gasket. It isn't leaking by the looks of it, may have to ask the local garage to tap it out for me. Oops!
-
Thanks. Is there a guide for the inlet removal?

Oh I ordered one from GSF, hopefully its the right one.. pretty sure it's metal and the gasket looks rubbery. Just ordered 6 litres of 5w-40 fully synthetic and new air/oil filters. Thats my few days off next week sorted.. I'll go check the colour code now because im curious! Edit: Yes it is aqua pearl. common colour?

Hello I recently took possession of a 1993 Corrado VR6 in a metallic blue color (not sure of the correct name, what could it be?) The car is pretty much stock and has the full black leather interior. It's done a whopping 165k miles but still drives very, very well. It seems to have some unknown adjustable struts. It has some anthracite speedlines in very good condition too. Few questions; The spoiler does rise and go down manually no problem but doesn't seem to do it automatically? Is there a way to get it do to it automatically? How difficult is the rocker cover gasket? I've ordered a new one as mine is seeping but it looks like an inlet manifold off job? I have a few plans for the car, initially just change the leaking gasket, give the car a full valet and then do an oil & filter change. I want to pick up an exhaust when funds allow because the stock system is surprisingly quiet! (Still pops a lot) I'll update with some pictures once shes washes and looking half decent. Jim.
