Really interested in this!!!! -
Thank you, I will definitely look at that. I have another car that is my daily so I could potentially throw it on classic as I will keep getting my no claims that way. Thanks!! Gracie

I am with elephant and the moment and they have been really good up until now! You would think the alarm and immobiliser would make it cheaper.......I know mine works because it can be a right pain in the bum! It is deffo chipped. I just declare the wheels, brake lines etc just because I know what insurance companies are like, anything to get out of paying out, I just declare everything to avoid getting stung. I do have mother and father as named drivers and that still didn't help. I have 4 years NC so it shouldn't be this much! Hopefully when I renew the Polo I will look around and see what is out there for the rado again! I miss driving it like crazy, but I was spending 80 every 2 weeks on fuel and I only go from portchester to southsea :-/ that bit I don't miss! Thanks for your advice Gracie x

I love hearing about tired old cars being restored to their former glory!!!

Yeah that's the thing with the classicy cars!!! How many years no claims do you have? I don't know why mine is quite so much?! I have tried all the bits to keep it down but there it was chipped to give it back the 10bhp that is has lost during its life, custom manifold am rocker cover and custom stainless steel exhaust all add up to higher premiums. Just to keep him on the road for now, I am happy that my parents will be using him as a weekend car as it is very cheap for them! As I have said we need to seriously look at getting the wheels done and the whole car needs a spray! There are other little bits that need doings but are by no means essential!! ---------- Post added at 7:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:47 PM ---------- My parents company won't insure me until I am 25 :(

Yes!!!!!! This is so annoying!!!! I am a massive speed limit freak as getting points at 23 will REALLY sting! I do the speedlimit everywhere.... And when people drive like that it does my nut. And don't get me started on middle lane hoggers.....

I bought my 1993 VR6 for 2700, with the original wheels as well as the aftermarket BBS. I don't think the ad for mine was up for that long, but I had decided I wanted a Corrado VR6 after a bit of research. I went straight to pistonheads looking for a specific car. From around 20/21 I knew what one was and loved them but had a TDI polo and didn't want to sell. I had the opportunity to buy a second car and grabbed the bull by the horns! I personally think when you buy these kind of cars, you accept that when you come to sell up it will not sell as easily as the Vauxhall Ashtray or the Ford Focus. The people that buy those kind of cars are looking for something generic e.g. Cheap family hatch.... We limit our market massively by investing in these beauties! The person buying it chances are will be like me, someone who has gone on the hunt for a Corrado VR6. There is one in the area where I work in Portsmouth that is the 1.8 16v and he is also struggling to sell. Persevere and you will get there!! :) Gracie x

You will have to start selling organs now, as well as buying new trousers that have no pockets.... -
PayPal??
-
Thank you, the only bad bits are the wheels and the paintwork!! Some junkie keyed the nearside as well but the respray will sort that!
-
I do love the BBS, they are in horrendous condition but once the refurb is done they will look amazing! I just think BBS belong on a Dub!!! I can't wait to be able to insure the monster again but for now I will settle for being driven around in MY car by my parents! :( That is one of the things people say..,.2.9 an you are 23?!?!? Whaaaaat... (22 when I bought him). I love the feeling of driving such am exquisite piece of not of engineering, but history as well!!!! Gracie x ---------- Post added at 11:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:14 PM ---------- I know!!! BBS should NOT look like that, even though I am female.... IT WASN'T ME!! I avoid curbs like the plague and bay park where possible!! We are just east of Fareham and the car lives north of Fareham!!! Near Pompey woo!! Gracie x ---------- Post added at 11:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:17 PM ---------- Thank you Gracie x
