1. Yes mate. The Lamin-X was easier than I thought to fit too. It's a good thickness and will protect them, I used clear on the indicators as i didn't want it looking like a Christmas tree. Like what I've seen of your G60.
2. I went French. Thanks to Riley for the Lamin-X
3. Cant believe its only three weeks on Sunday. :) :) I've been having a little look today, and a early possible could be Feversham Arms Hotel Helmsley. Car park looks smallish but mint, all depends on how many are gonna make it. might phone them alone with few others next week see if we can park our fabulous cars outside there. Your so right tho Ron, roads down there look class.
4. These are very good meeting times Ron, I'm tempted to drive up to easington southbound shell station and go from there. Before the weekend would you alter the first post on the list of names and stick: 'attending' at the front of everyone you know for sure is now coming and ill contact the rest. In the mean time Ill try and get some street/location knowledge at Helmsley from a few businesses and ask the question, I'm good at all that stuff. If theres anyone new reading this who lives in the northeast thats up for a run out on Sunday March 17th (change yours above Ron) please private message Hofmiester or Myself. Regards Michael
5. That's mint guys. A new thread might be an idea, but just not yet. A thread can disappear in a day or so, lets hold this just for now. I'm gonna work hard on the members that haven't responded and let's see after that. Cool you two wanna travel up. That's five or six now I think. :) Wonder if its just drivers (lads) or WAGS too hahaha.
6. Very warm welcome too. You must post a few pictures of your vr6 on here. Nothing like a before and after. This is a great forum and has some fantastic people for corrado solutions. I'd personally get it checked out underneath like a full inspection, see if there's anything rotted or in need of right now replacing, this could be done even at a trusted specialist centre or even a vw dealer (if you got the cash). Then work out what you intend to spend and take into account that recent inspection must have's and what you fancy customising. Certain parts or becoming very valuable. So throw nothing away.
7. Hahaha. Love this comment, I worked for Jaguar and Aston and those cars had issues from the factory, customers would go ape after buying new and workshop just couldn't rectify the faults. DB7 Nic Name was :new shape for Ford Capri....
8. Correct, just phone any dealer parts dept, and give your reg plate. There system will tell you the correct nut to use. eBay sell loads but be careful of the £5 monkey metal packs....
9. Guess if there very little or no interest from the Yorkshire area, we could meet further north? I will sort a personal message inviting to every known member in this thread and on the linked threads below at the weekends. Be good if we can get all Yorkshire and Tyne and Wear in on this, I'm sure when it happens it will be well worth it. when it happens i think we could do a proper census and make a group email and messages for further meets Lets See what happens.
10. That's fine As it is, I'm free on both Sat & Sun On Marage rd opposite Bradley's yard (on google maps) in Thirsk there's a coach park and its free, should have plenty room, that's if there's nowt on in Thirsk on the day we choose.
11. It's fantastic that it's got momentum, next job would be for Hofmiester if he doesn't mind that is. Send A quick copy/paste 'are you attending Thirsk to Helmsley run on the 16th or 17th march' private massage then it's a go,! I was looking below this thread on the 'similar thread section' might be a few other north east owners lurking in there worth a private message to invite. Agreed with me that Thirsk is best to hook up then a convoy drive to Helmsley ;) I'd prob drive up to easington just for the crack....
12. I liked Hofmiester in a earlier post suggesting Helmsley, I've had a look and thats a good central area, be it a tiny bit further south for the more northern members on this thread, however if they're happy coming down then Thirsk would be best to meet up (car park) then a drive east to Helmsley, with Thirsk being on the A19 it will help the far northern guys drive time As its good straight dual carriageway.and be easy for everyone to find.
13. I'm cool with anytime, should be class. When Hofmiester reads this, he could please update/edit the very first post on this thread and make a list of everyone's home area. Then we can take into account how many will be travelling up/down to meet etc. If he struggles he can send a PM to forum members not showing there location and ask. Same goes to members that have moved house since there forum registration, they can PM him and we'll all see The real interest and can correctly take into account whats best travelling. I'm more than happy to collect mobile numbers nearer the time of the interested owners and send a group text etc, to arrange. Would be totally Mint to meet a good few times a year maybe have a north east owners group too. I'm only new hear so my suggestions are up for debate. Being south of durham Hull is 113 miles from me and would be 150miles from the guys in newcastle/Sunderland Places like Richmond, Beadle, Northallerton are central and shouldnt involve more than 40miles drive or so for most (I think). This will encourage a larger turn out I hope. Lets get this on :) :) :) ;)
14. I just don't know, if I like the westwoods enough, I'm a terrible customer. .are your BBS in your aviator profile pic?
15. Does the rear number plate lights work,? I'd check the spoiler with someone pressing switch at the front while using a multimeter on the wires at the back, see it it's getting power? Ones not seem right that both have just stopped working at. The same time. You'd think it was a fuse.
16. I second that :) I'm just in South Durham and know all the area's. Was beginning to think we are a little few and far between up north here. I'm happy if anyone PM's me I will send my mobile or email address and help sort summit. Cheers :)
17. How much for the Forged? Your welcome to PM me?
18. Had a little trouble on my strip out its nasty behind and would like to replace it. Help me ;) Thanks.
19. I'm excited for you man. They are fabulous cars to drive, look at and even tinker on with. I'm 37 and my last decent vw was 18yrs prior when I owned 92 'j' Polo G40 even sitting just looking at the clocks takes me back. :) However i have just read over my last post, I am guilty of putting a downer on your purchase, and I'm sure it will be mint. Guess having had a lot of time in the sales side of the motor trade and just wish so much I had a quid for ever time a bloke said I painted it to Freshener her up. I just wanted to make a reminder to wait on the spending till you know the full car and what it might need from the inside out. Having said that I'm no expert, but being a part of this forum you just know that we are all in such good hands when it comes to wisdom in the corrado field. :)
20. Where are you based?

21. Well i hope it doesn't end up to big a list. Bodywork and Underneath is the first job, see what is really needed before all the fun stuff, take the door cards out and check, also look inside the front wings underneath behind wheels arch protectors, it will be interesting to see if the cars been painted over to hide a lot of issues. Mines a 95, owned it for coming up three weeks now, all dealer history, had same owner for last 13yr the engine is like new and so silent running, car had dealer for everything, even exhaust and tyres, only one ding on O/s wing four years ago, which was replaced, and guess what, that's the only wing to be needing serious attention. Finding stuff before it happens is good then you can budget and prioritise.
