1. Ha. yes, I only went on the police site to see if I could identify the driver, but it was a rear shot. Oh yes, it was 2 weeks after I got the car (3 weeks from theft) back from the cops that I got the summons. No link between computers obviously.
2. Hey... 2 weeks later I got a summons from the police of their intent to prosecute as my car had been clocked at 86 mph in a 30 zone. The speed-cam picture looked great though.
3. Hi Guys Since my VR6 was nicked last year I've had trouble with the handles, which have now both quit. If you have some spares lying around... let me know. cheers y'all
4. Arrrggghh. That's awful. Effing scumbags. Keep positive though -- my C-VR6 was stolen last April, and I assumed that was it. It was found abandoned 6 days later! Front sea packed with crow-bars, axe, etc. No need to guess what it was being used for. If you get a call from the cops try to recover on the road yourself as you will be charged £150 if the police recover it.
5. Hi Chris Sorry about the delay, been away for weekend... time to get my VR6 fixed so I don;t have to crawl through rear to get doors open! I'll paypal you the £45 and email my address to you if that's okay.
6. Hi Chris Ooops, I sent an email yesterday to the address you gave me for paypay... best just paste it in... "Actually my garage guy is servicing/MOTing the VR6 soon, and said he’d fit the handles for free same time – but he did ask me what I was getting exactly. I’m not at all mechanicy past changing spark plugs... Sorry to be a pain but could you tell me what the handles comprise in total, mechanically? cheers mate" dave
7. No probs I'll send a private message of my address for the goods!
8. I wish that were true! Pic of the
9. That sounds okay. Need to get back to my garage guy about the latches just to double check. Not sure if I can fit the handles myself without effing everything up. Do you have Paypal account, if so I can transfer the loot. cheers dave
10. Hi mate Excellent. I assume the pair of handles include all the internal gubbins, at kleast the parts that seems to have broken on both sides. What sort of price where you looking for them? Re: the armour plate protectors -- I have it from a couple of sources they definitely where available, but alas it seems no longer for the Corrado though other VWs. cheers dave
11. Hi Guys Anyone know where I can buy pair of Armor Door Plate for Corrado Door handles. I've tried eBay, but the only company selling there for VW no longer produces for the Corrado. Passat, Vento, Golf, anything but the C. I'm also after a couple of new handles as well, as my VR6 as nicked last year and the scotes screw drivered up both handles so they won't open from the outside! If anyone knows any suppliers, mucho apreciated. I haven't tried eBay for the handles yes, thought I'd enquire here first as I know how great the experienced members are for tips. cheers dave

13. No probs Jim. I'll paypal your postage. If I don't need, I'll pass it on to someone who needs it like you did for me.
14. Ooops! Thanks for the tip Henny. I'm hoping to get around the garage today to take the stuff over and get a list of what I still need.
15. Hi Jim Stonejag's steering column has just arrived. Also inside was this. I believe that's what you were going to send? In which case, I already got one now.
16. GENERAL THANKS Guys and Gals (God, that's sounds sooooo Jimmy Savile) Just want to thank you all for your kind words and support following the assault and battery on my VR6. Also your generosity. Henny, Stonejag and Jim in particuar who even offered me replacement parts they had, and wanted no payment. dave ---------- Post added at 10:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:38 AM ---------- No worries Jim. Just do it when you get the chance. I'll paypal you the postage.
17. You gotta laugh Scarlet Else you'd go nuts.
18. Robrado974 Crazy or what? Just a pain. The form sent DEMANDS that if not the driver I MUST provide the name/address of driver. There's no section for STOLEN!!!! M'Lud!
19. UPDATE 2 Get this.. I've just received a NOTIFICATION TO PROSECUTE from Greater Manchester Police. Apparently my VR6 was clocked doing 84mph in a 30 zone the day before it was recovered. At 1.04 am. You would think records would be syncronized so that it was flagged as stolen? But you would be wrong. Tried to call the "ticket office" -- yes, they call it that! But they don't work after 1pm!
20. No probs Henny, the garage guy/Corrado enthusiast mate fitting it is away all week, (working on his houseboat) so the car is safely locked up in his yard. When you say "switch" not too sure what you mean? Look forward to you email. I can meet in Manchester anywhere that's convenient, just let me know what's best for you! cheers mate, dave
21. UPDATE! Well I finally got my VR6 back this afternoon! What a nightmare. The guys at the compound kindly pushed it onto the road, in case I wanted to call the RAC! Managed to hotwire it started, using the wires the thieved so considerately left dangling beneath the cracked ignition barrel Unfortuately went 10 yards then the Steering lock kicked in! Thank god I wasn't going at any speed. As I didn't really fancy driving it with a screwdriver jammed in what was left of the ignition, I called the RAC, not realy expecting them to help! I was hoping they would just tow/recover it the 5 miles to my garage... Instead the helpful guy decided to remove the steering lock mechanism... Which meant hammering out the locking pins, which also meant he had to remove the whole steering wheel, etc... and finally leave me without the indicatoe, washer stalks! Which meant he had to follow me all the way to the garage anyway. Ho hum! PIC!
22. Diesel -- good luck in your VR hunt. I see that your old beaut was the same colour as mine -- so sorry you're driving a box instead of the sleek machine. hang in there!
23. Hof -- yes! My sentiments exactly. I did a google search for VR6 parts and this site popped up so thought I might as well join up! And then get lots of great support back instantly. Can't thank folks enough. What do you reckion happened to your stolen VR^?
