corradokid 0 Posted October 10, 2004 Anyone got any ideas? headlights still work, thinking it maybe the switch but can this cause that problem?
h100vw 0 Posted October 10, 2004 You need to check the tail lights out, I think they may be on the same fuse. I doubt the switch to be at fault. Gavin
corradokid 0 Posted October 10, 2004 Its only the no. plate bulbs which are on the same fuse, will have another look tomorrow when I can get some fuses. I only had one fuse, and when I put it in operating the dash resistor thingy appeared to make it blow?
corradokid 0 Posted October 11, 2004 Ok update, stuck another fuse in no problem, number plate lights working now, however it appears that the dash lights are not still ( might just be me ) But as soon as you move the resistor thingy on the headlight switch all the way to the bottom the fuse blows? It doesnt seem to illuminate the dash bulbs either? How typically corrado strange
VR6 0 Posted October 11, 2004 Presume you're using the right fuse for the job? 10A if my memory is correct.
corradokid 0 Posted October 11, 2004 yeah using a 10amp fuse, just borrowed ants headlight switch and the same thing happens so its not that. The dash bulbs dont light up even with the fuse in, but it only blows when the resistor is all the way down. Will have to get some more fuses tomorrow. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 11, 2004 Might be the reostat in the headlight switch at fault. If it's a late switch, £44+VAT, ouch :(
