Heater matrix

Recommended Posts

Right I think the heater matrix on my VR6 has gone

Losing coolant slowly but steadily, windows mist up very easily, and wet passenger footwell. I've change one on a 306, and it was a BITCH of a job, how bad is it on the corrado? Any tips much appreciated! :(

Be careful tightening in/out coolant hoses onto matrix as its pipes are plastic. My garage man broke mine. Matrix was old, though, plastic will not be as brittle on new matrix but, obviously, still worth being cautious.

ok so you will have one fun time changing that, I know that I am from the states and all and no one should make fun of me for it but it took me nearly 30 hours worth of work to get all of the coolant out of the carpet, insulation, and to get a new heater core into my G60, now I know I have more room than you do. if you want full instrunctions go to http://www.corrado-club.com, corrado information, FAQ's and tech tips, then it should be one of the options on how to change the damn thing, there is so much crap to move and pull out of the way. Good luck on yours I just did mine in june, along with the headgasket and over the past 2 weeks my tranny, stock differentials and their rivets suck. cheers mate as you folks say.

Cheers lads, it was a dash out job on the 306 so i had assumed it would be on the corrado. :(

I'm pretty sure it is the matrix though, the water doesn't smell much, but it has that silky texture to it that coolant does.....also I can't see any other wet spots where it could've come through :?

30hours! Looks like i have next weekend planned then :x

I've just done mine i think it took me about 2hrs to get it out (on and off) it's not difficult really :o just a bit time consuming .

You'll find it easyier than the 306( horrible french crap).

There are 2 nut's under scuttle panel (under the bonnet ) that you need to undo ,i'm glad i read the previous post's about removing a heater matrix otherwise i would never have found them  .If you need any help let me know

Does anyone know where the screws that hold the dashboard to the engine compartment are? Have looked under the bonnet beneath the water tray but can't identify them anywhere. Presumably there is one either side of the engine comp[artment fro left and right??
