HELP NEEDED!! From all those that have fitted Infinity 6x4's

I can't seem to get them to fit in the parcel shelf support mounts. Can you guys tell me how you did it?????

Have you managed to get the old ones out ok? The 2 screws that hold the grille in then tilit the grille out - speaker is attached to the grille.

 

You then need to cut back the plastic off the shelf support a bit with a hack saw or sharp knife. Basically trim off any of the stuff that would go underneath the speaker it self - just leave the gap. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T CUT OFF THE PART THAT THE GRILLE SCREWS INTO!.

 

Done it to mine and there is no problems with rattles etc.

 

You have to do this with ANY replacement rear speakers as the magnets are larger.

I found using a dremel good for cutting back the plastic.......not nice fumes though.

Wire cutters do it quite easily too!

Just fitted my 6x4s today and had no problems, no need for cutting or bodging if you use ALPINE SXE-4625S.

Maybe i found the ONLY fitting pair TATTIE :lol:

JBL 6x4s used to fit straight in with no problems... until they started putting HUUUUAAAAGGGGEEEE magnets on 'em... :roll: :?
