aide 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Sorry - another insurance topic, but have done a search and can't find anything. Anyone got this limited cover, and where from? Thanks
Bally 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Most insurers do, I had a quote from Adrian Flux who do a limted mileage cover..
aide 0 Posted November 11, 2004 my current insurers don't :D How much and how little if you get my drift?
Bally 0 Posted November 11, 2004 I'd say if your going for 3 to 5k a year it would be cheaper..
Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Mine's limited to 6k per year with Norwich Union Direct. Thought all insurers had limited mileage policies, as I've always been asked the annual mileage question when getting quotes. Question is though, what happens if you go over? Think I'll end up with about 6.5 k this year. Normally only do about 4.5 k, but this is my first year of Corrado ownership and I didn't take into account that I'd end up looking for ANY excuse to jump in it and go for a spin! :)
aide 0 Posted November 11, 2004 how much you guys paying? mine is now off road and in garage for serious modding to begin so doubt i'll be putting many miles on for the next 6 months or so - just want cheapest cover for fire, as i doubt they'll nick it when its on blocks :D
corradophil 3 Posted November 11, 2004 I'm paying £220 TPFT for 3000 miles a year with HIC, although it took a lot of shopping around and hagling to get that
aide 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Cheers Phil - got a figure to aim for.

pablo_vr6 0 Posted November 11, 2004 im on 5k from admiral they didnt ask my mileage and if they do I can just say my GF used the car for 6 months while her own was getting fixed ;)
Guest Posted November 11, 2004 I've got a 5k limited mileage policy with HIC. Fully Comp with protected NCD £570. Most other companies didn't offer this, plus HIC gave me a very good deal with insuring a 2nd car. Works out i'm paying less for both cars with HIC, than if i insured the VR on unlimited mileage with someone like Tesco. (My previous company). Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Jeisus! Think I'll be doin some hardcore shopping round next month when renewing. Dunno if my area is the reason, but I couldn't get anywhere near those figures when getting quotes this time last year. 32 yo Full NCD Clean license Standard 1.8 Securitied up to the eyeballs with 6k per year mileage limit Fully comp, With protected NCD and a few bells and whistles. £450 Seems like some of you lot are paying less then that on VR's Lowest quote i got for one of those was a grand  Burst out laughing when that one came back! aide 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Louie - Try ramping the voluntary excess up, usually makes a difference.
Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted November 11, 2004 Hmmm... Can't remember off had what the excess is on this policy. Think it's about £150-200 Will have to ask "Dick Turpin Direct" what diff putting it up a ton will make. Who are HIC anyway? The name doesn't ring a bell More to the point, has anyone had to make a claim from them? That's when you find out if insurance companies are a shower of sh*ts or not, Isn't it?
corradophil 3 Posted November 11, 2004 HIC are Herts Insurance Consultants, use a search engine to find them, well worth a call. 8)
