2 questions

1,,,,,, Is there really only 5 bolts holding the dash in, two at the ends, to in the scuttle and one in the middle bottom behind the trim?

2,,,,, Does early dash inserts fit into a late dash shell??

Thanks in advance folks :D

Almost, there's a self tapper at the side of the mounting bracket for the instrument cluster.

Interesting - not had one of those on either of the 3 dashes I've removed/refitted or replaced.

Your car must be even more unique than you thought...

late controls fit into a early dash??

you sure?

on my late dash, the holes for the screws half way up, around about the heater controls are in the wrong place, cause the heater controls are slightly higher that early ones (well... bigger) but the headunit its higher.

You need to fabricate additional bracket(s) to support the heater controls if you're fitting later components into an earlier dash.

The genuine items are very flimsy and are rivetted on to the dash shell.

see, thats my point, it aint a direct fit.

i cant be that bothered with custom making brackets etc, so i've sourced an early dash, ill sell my late one.

need early door cards too to swap with my early cards, as i prefer the early cards and have audioscape door pods, so tis easier for the window switches
