sammerlightning 0 Posted June 11, 2003 I would like to recommend German Auto Engineering in Portsmouth this guy Cornelius seriously knows his stuff and had made my C run like a dream.
Brando 0 Posted June 16, 2003 Where is that m8, should be getting my C in mid July, and I need a resident expert??
VR6 South 0 Posted August 15, 2003 The best mechanic I have had the pleasure of dealing with - ever :D . Cornelius is totally honest a will not fleece you, failed and worn out replaced components are always made readily available for inspection, so you know you are not getting cheated. He will also let you supply your own parts if you wish. If it wasn't for GAE I don't think I would be able to run my pair of VRs, what more can I say :?: and no I am not related or on commission :!: Are there any C owners in the Portsmouth area heading up to Woburn? 8)

VR6 South 0 Posted August 15, 2003 That's the one :). I don't think he is part of Autoworld, as he is a one man band.

VR6 South 0 Posted October 1, 2003 He is normally pretty obliging. Took my VR is last Friday as it had an intermittant fault. I hadn't booked it in, however he ran a full diagnostic check, fixed the fault in minutes. When aked how much I owed, the answer was "nothing it's Friday :D
robh 0 Posted November 27, 2003 I've just got my c back from GAE and all i can say is FANTASTIC. It's had new uprated shocks new disks and a full service, it's like having a new car. :D I can absolutly recomend this garage, Cornelius really knows his stuff and inspires confidence in his work. Its really nice to see all the bits that have been taken off. I had been using Autotecknic in southampton who although appear to be very profesional have never really got my c running right. I will definatly be using GAE again, the next time my c needs assistance. Rob A very happy VR6 driver
VR6 South 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Rob, Was it you whose aux water pump went the other day??
robh 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Yeh that was me... I was just down there to check out the garage and sus it out and then 500 yards from the place the pump let go and i stopped in the middle of the roundabout! So my first visit was more out of necesity than choice! Don't you just love driving a corrado, your never quite sure whats gonna go wrong next.
VR6 South 0 Posted November 27, 2003 Know the feeling. My pump packed up a couple of days after yours. Must be something in the weather. Corneleus is in the process of a 200bhp (I think) Scirroco project, should be interesting :)

Henny 0 Posted May 4, 2004 welcome to the forum.... 8) It'd help us loads if you told us where you are so we can point you in the direction of a "local" place!  8) Most people here send their chargers off to G-werks (that's where mine went for a rebuild!) as Darren (G-man) is VERY good and will sort it out properly... 8)
stevenmcc 0 Posted May 14, 2004 Have got a problem with my VR and am getting it trailored to home (Portsmouth) this afternoon. Does this Cornelius still work at GAE, because it certainly sounds like the place to go.
VR6 South 0 Posted May 14, 2004 Yes. I was in there last week and he's still providing the usual first class service. Hope it's nothing too bad :( Is your a black Corrado by any chance? I have seen three different ones in the Postmouth area in the past week.
stevenmcc 0 Posted May 17, 2004 It certainly is black. You may well have spotted me - driving extremely cautiously of course! Dropped it off at GAE. Cornelius was very helpful, but also v busy, so it may take a while. Luckily I am going away for a few weeks, so won't be needing the car. I'm just hoping it's not going to be expensive. stevenmcc 0 Posted May 18, 2004 This is the first time I have used GAE, and he hasn't given me a quote yet - lot of work on. All I can say is that he is v helpful, and worth giving a call.

themattjanes 0 Posted February 9, 2009 Cornelius has a new website. The URL is http://www.germanautoengineering.co.uk He's just serviced my VR6 Storm and I can't believe how well he's got it running. Cheers Matthew
KipVR 1 Posted February 10, 2009 I had been using Autotecknic in southampton who although appear to be very profesional have never really got my c running right. There not much good to be honest.
