G60rob 0 Posted January 18, 2005 From time to time the wipers won't start from the intermittent or normal speed positions, but only by switching to full speed. Once they're going at full speed, the other settings then work normally. The ABS warning light has come on a couple of times recently, the last time when braking hard on a wet road, when the sudden loss of ABS wasn't welcome. Both times the problem was cured by stopping and turning the ignition off and back on again. I've read the thread about ABS wheel sensors, but I'm inclined to think it's electrical in my case. Could the two problems (wipers and ABS) be related in any electrical way, or is it just coincidence?
Phil K 0 Posted January 18, 2005 you could see if putting a different wiper stalk on makes any difference...? I have a feeling that they are the same as mk2 golf stalks and available from a scrap yard
Henny 0 Posted January 19, 2005 yup, Stalks are MKII with MFA for the early interiors, MKIII with MFA for later interiors... 8)
