Fitting 5x100 fitment wheels to 4x100 hubs???

Recommended Posts

I have a dilema, i have a corrado g60 and after reading this months golf+ magazine i want to get a set of Polished Audi TT competition alloys for the car, the problem is, is that my car has 4x100 fitment and the wheels are 5x100... is there a simplish way to convert mine over to 5x100 or will i need to make up some adapters??

Any help would be great!

Cheers

I believe that adaptors to exist but I don't know what they'd do to the offset on TT wheels and whether they'd just not fit very well or not.

The 'proper' way is to swap over the bits that make it a 4 stud fitment over to a 5 stud.. on the rear of the car I believe thats just a question of fitting VR6 brake discs but up front it requires swapping quite a few bits and pieces over. It can be done and is well documented on VWVortex where quite a few American Corrado owners have done this.

As Jim says you can't use adapters because TT comp wheels are ET 31. When you then add say 20mm adapters, the offset then becomes ET 11, which will look ridiculous - the wheels will stick out miles past the arches.

The only solution if you really want those wheels is to convert to 5 x 100 hubs and rear discs from the VR6.
