coullstar 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Just got back from a 400m drive with some new ebay Momo wheels but I have a sneaky suspicion that the wheels have a straight taper bolts. The guy said he ran them on his Mk1 with normal bolts and stupid twat me believed him without checking. It was just when I got them home I noticed? Does anybody else that has Momo wheels get special bolts or know if they need straight taper? Also the two of the tyres need replacing soon and he has 215/40/16's on but will 205/45/16's be ok as I am sure they will be cheaper.
coullstar 0 Posted February 15, 2005 So nobody runs 16's wheels then?
daves16v 1 Posted February 15, 2005 Look at the bolt seat on the wheel, they are either radius or taper, easy to tell the difference. You can buy either type of bolt from most wheel suppliers. I bought some from http://www.trackstore.co.uk
coullstar 0 Posted February 15, 2005 I am 95% sure on the bolts. Its just the tyre size now. I have lowered the car ~45mm and I dont want to put tyres on with them to be shredded a week later by the arch. The wheels are 7.5x16" et35mm and they look like the tyres would catch the arch screws when going over big bumps. What does anyone else run for this size of wheel? Shilakadaddy 0 Posted February 15, 2005 got 205/45's on mine (16" x 7") lowered around 40mm and have never rubbed so should be fine
