bigbob 0 Posted March 12, 2005 ive read the sticky and it didnt help me see the photo below, i got a new ignition switch because of my intermitant starting problem and its ok now, but its still hanging below the steering wheel what do i need to do to take the old one out and fit the new one thats hanging down thanks Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Banana Man 0 Posted March 13, 2005 The is a screw that has to come out, its a pig to get to as it's basically between the steering column and the ignition barrel if you look at your new switch you'll see the hole, once that crew is out though it can just be pulled out and the new one slotted in! Supercharged 2 Posted March 19, 2005 Use the new switch to locate the screw, ie hold the switch the same way as the old one sits and try to locate the screw on the old one where the hole on the new one is... you will need quite a small screwdriver for this! bigbob 0 Posted March 19, 2005 FINALLY did the little bastard !!! the screw was a sod to find, because i actually have a passat steering coloum and the screw was hidden so i had to snap the old switch out to get to it anyway the new switch is it and its all back together and im happy, for now :) cheers all !
